Damn right brother. I remember back in the day me and my mate would get a king size Mars bar each and play this and streets of rage 2 all night. Two great games with the best soundtracks going! Great times.
So I found this game on some website where you can play classic old games and I instantly became hooked to the theme song for it because I'm into electronic music real big. I then immediately also downloaded the game for my emulator the online version was a test run before I got a copy. Well anyway I decided to go looking for remixes to the theme song and came across yours and was instantly hooked and had to have a copy. Thank you ever so much for this and also providing a MP3 link for it. You nailed this song it's absolutely amazing.
You did it! This one turned out even better than I expected, I like how you kept the Sega spirit in this track, you even made it sound a bit dirty to keep that atmosphere, plus it's long enough, so I don't have to rewind it often, and those slides on the guitar are so familiar, thanks for re-creating them. I like that there's no FL studio visible here as is easier to recall those good old days not thinking about some DAW. Beautiful job, Luke! You didn't waste those five hours for sure and came out with a terrific track!

You noticed all those subtle little things that i did to balance an old tune like this into a new one, you have good ears lol, Yea I was suprised how well it turned it out myself. I wanted the main feature to be that it had a nice flow through out, also keeping the spirit of the old tune much alive. I did it by layering lots of samples, I think I used about 5 or 6 snares layered. so you can imagine what the rest was like lol. Its never a waste of time to me because I always listen to my own music and just happy i am able to share it with other people who may enjoy it :)

I run a YT channel where I review military food, some of it historical. They call em MREs these days. But i write some super janky tunes for the vids and know how difficult it is just to compose basic stuff. You are on a whole other level. would you be making road rash 3 osts? main title and UK maybe? ive grown to this one more than the original one because the lighter drum/beat at the back actually makes it more easily to listen while still keeps the track upbeat, i love it so much. thank you for your work. i always enjoyed road rash 2 theme a lot. not to mention it has that sort of vaporwave feel because of the instruments used, classy.
Yeah original is good but the drums are too loud in my opinion, plus the samples sound kind of distorted, yeah the vibrato thing was kind of a signature sound to the RR tracks thats why I remade it and put it in there. Well RR3, I'll put them on the List :)

@@lukejansen3540 I would not agree, those samples sound rough and its what makes them great as they resemble the original sega 16bit vibe. The originals sounded like somebody was punching a garbage bin so you kept its real feel and not made it too coarse which is great.

I had a good time listening. Love the guitar portamentos, just like the original, and with a similar synth too! About the mix: not a whole lot in the way of panning, and too many instruments fighting for the treble bandwidth.
Thanks mate, Yeah I know what you mean. With the the higher eq stuff I turned it down because alot of it would be ear piercing just like the original lol. I didn't go full left or right panning because I wanted the pads to fill in the sterio width. I'll probably remaster this one at some stage. I think I used a lot of white noise with the cymbals. Which I might remove too.
