Just to let you know. This track and your cover pushed me to get my motorcycle license. I listened to this track on repeat while practicing maneuvers on an empty airfield by myself. Had never ridden a bike before but manage to do it in 3 months of hard work. The feeling when I once more blasted this cover while soaring through nature after achieving it was priceless. 3:55 -5:26 has to be one of the most beautiful and emotional musical compositions ever written. It hits me so hard every time and this arrangement makes it hit even harder. Congrats to the original artist and Dean Harris for bringing this track back from the past. Seriously hit me in the heart strings.
Definitely agree! For those who know their cinematic "theme music to films", the RR2 theme was always on par (even first hearing it in the 90s playing the game) with the most iconic film themes IMO (Top Gun opening theme by Harold Faltermeyer for example). If you were to put this theme in a film today (opening or closing credits, to a motorcycle racing film or if they ever made a RRash live action), this theme would get millions of download buys & streams! It's that good, it's that iconic, it's that resonate. It's a rock solid theme from start to blissful ending! 🏍❤

This is hands down the greatest remake of any game soundtrack ever!!! If you ever make an album compilation of this level of quality, i will literally throw my money at you lol. I think doing a modern compilation of video game music from various games would be awesome. I think a lot of the soundtracks from the 90's had a great sound. With technology being what it is now, i think taking those polyphonic melodies from the 90's and giving them your own modern sound would be really cool.

Absolutely spectacular job at keeping the original vibe, jut beefing it up. My favorite element is how you kept the iconic, unmistakable Genesis bass line just thumping away in the background. That's the key sound of the track, so it's awesome to hear it front & center here. Adding muted chugs over the top beefed it up nicely as well. The mixing here is quite stellar too. Nice & roomy. So, SO many covers use a completely dry mix with no headroom, reverb, etc. yours is warm & full.

I still love how in the main theme you kept that twangy Genesis bass thumping along in the background along with your guitar. Really appreciate the nice comments, I did exactly what you said, I have made sure to recreate the Genesis bass sound and mix it in with the real bass on all of the road rash tracks, that way its kind of a hybrid between real instruments and the synth :) I set up a patreon a couple days ago to offer Mp3s and will also stick the album up for sale on my site as soon as Hawaii is finished, and I am excited to say that all the tracks have been mastered to sound a lot better than my youtube vids, as I made these vids more suited to people's harsh phones, but the finished versions are nicely mastered and all part of the same mix to sound unified! I even did artwork lol, anyway thanks again and here's to Hawaii! :)
Hey Dean no need to worry now I used a Vanilla VISA Card to purchase your Road Rash 2 soundtrack through PayPal which when I did that it converted it from GBP$ to US$ so yes I finally got your soundtrack although I only wanted one song which was this one right here, but paying the $9 something for this one song here was worth it because your version of this song is the best one out there right now. I also thank you for leaving out the sound effects in the paid for version which is exactly what I was hoping for. So all is good now.

@@DeanHarrisComposer I actually had bought this a while ago and I have listened to it, but I'm not really hearing it. I'm not sure if you know this, but if you sit in the bike shop for a while, the menu theme changes to sound more like pneumatic ratchets operating.
@@AndrewofDoom Just had a listen to the bike shop in the original game and I hear what you mean now, after a certain time the main guitar sound switches to a very air like (almost spray can) instrument, and then later on another one of the instruments in the low end gets switched for a synthy bass briefly, I am almost wondering if this was a bug of some kind? As nothing seems to musically change apart from a swap in certain instruments! Well done for spotting it

I'm not sure if you know this, but if you sit in the bike shop for a while, the menu theme changes to sound more like pneumatic ratchets operating.
@@AndrewofDoom Just had a listen to the bike shop in the original game and I hear what you mean now, after a certain time the main guitar sound switches to a very air like (almost spray can) instrument, and then later on another one of the instruments in the low end gets switched for a synthy bass briefly, I am almost wondering if this was a bug of some kind? As nothing seems to musically change apart from a swap in certain instruments! Well done for spotting it
