Heath do y'all have GRAINGER store nearby? When you 1st plugged it in the sound it was making sounds like it needs a new start capacitor. Should find it under the oblong little housing on top of the motor. It might also have a run capacitor as well under another housing. They can test them and order them for you. Our local store can usually get stuff overnighted as it is a smaller store but Houston is just 100 miles away. Good luck!
Thank you! No we don’t have a grainger store nearby
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors well then, do you happen to have a digital multimeter or know someone that does? You could test the caps yourself. Capacitors are rated in farads/microfarads. The value will be printed on capacitor so set the meter to the correct testing location and place the leads to the terminals and see what ya get. Probably will read WELL below what it's rated for. Heck there's always AMAZON. Continued good luck
LOVE, YOU ALL'S VIDEOS
NOTHING BETTER THAN TO HEAR A BIG PHYSICAL FELLOW SCREAM LIKE A LITTLE GIRL, LAUGHED TILL I PEED.
ME BEING A BIG FELLOW HAVE HAD MY OWN MOMENTS OF SQUEALING LIKE A LITTLE GIRL.
LOVE WHAT YOU DO (BRAINSTORMING) IDEAS TO MAKE FUN ENTERAINING VIDEOS.
KEEP EM COMING.
Thank you! It was definitely shocking!
Nice muzzle loader!
It may just be the plug I’m not sure.
Belly laughs! Rachel laughing harder at the end 😂 I must say, you kept your cool with all that electricity flashing before your eyes 👍
I hate electricity too! Thanks Scott!
Heath we used to use those on our Hobart equipment. Those Dayton motors are good motors. Change the start switch in the back of the motor, which is no problem and put a new capacitor on it. You can put a little bigger capacitor on it and I’ll give it a little fire to start because we’ve had lots of issues on our equipment for 20 bucks. You still have that thing running like a charm you guys have yourself a wonderful day.
By the way, change the plug lol
Thanks Dave! Great info
That was hilarious! It’s always worth watching when your in the thumbnail with a new auction find brainstorm 😂👊🏻🇺🇸
😂😂
Heath you put a little laughter into the shocking moment 👍😅😊❤
Thanks Todd!
There might have been some man math involved in the buying of that tumbler 😂. Have my doubts on it being an effective cleaner but I like ya way of thinking .
There is always man math involved, Phil!
Haha! All I could think of was the cat in the movie “Christmas Vacation”. You don’t need to get smoked like that Heath!! Find an electric motor repair place and let them check that motor out. On the tumbler… I do like the way you think!!
That’s perfect Dick😂🐈
Lol you guys are great. Rachel needs a trophy....and maybe a kitchen lol. Have fun this weekend at Hoosier!
She has a trophy….ME😂
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors 😀
LOL , that was hilarious . She’s a beaut Clark !!!! 😂🇺🇸👍🏻
lol thanks Del!
Guys, nice idea go for it,I'm excited to the how this works, thanks for the video,be careful.lol
😂 I’ll try!
Heath, I would go with the black pipe. I think that the angle iron would catch the wood too much, it might cause it to jam up.
Also, I would start with a new cord and get someone to check out that motor! Otherwise, I think you got a workable plan.
Great thoughts, thanks!
I've seen those on Marketplace and wondered the same thing. I look forward to your build
Hopefully it’s successful!
Round pipe is my guess. I would replace the whole cord. And use a heavier one. Great idea. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Noel!
For all this heavy duty stuff motors like this build your own chords 14 three Romax put a four outlet box on one end and a 20 amp plug on the other end then you know you have enough wire check the amperage on the motor if it’s less than 15 A 14 gauge will be enough if it’s more than that up to 20 years 12 gauge!!
😂😂😂 Now those sparks will wake you up, that was a nice arc
It was shocking
hi there put a new cap on it , the motor i think may need a start switch as well . , no big deal , john. as for a tramle not to sure about that , we built at jeffs a few years back .
Time will tell John!
That was my laugh for today enjoyed the video stay safe my friend and stay away from the Electric wires Stay safe my friend Have a good day
Thank you!
You know how to spark things up. lol. I think it will work out for ya. You might have to do some modifications along the way. Great score
Thanks Jeff! Definitely going to take some work
😂 sorry I'm glad you are ok. I don't know what was funnier, you or Rachel laughing.
We both couldn’t stop 😂
I think it’s going to be a little light it’s made to have wheat ,oats or something like that to remove weed seed. I have built a lot of things but most of the time it cost more to build than to buy this is how it goes for me.
Good luck I think you will make it work 😊😊😊
Yes, Cary sometimes that’s how it goes!
You may want to check to see if motor is wired for 220volts instead of 110volts. A lot of farmers wire up 220 using 110 plugs on stuff like that.
Thanks, I’ll check
Holy (electric) smokes!!! Herb (?🤷♂) almost put HIMSELF on the smoker grill this time!!!
We didn't get to see the Wood Bunny 🐇in this one, but just hearing her laugh was worth the wait!!!!
Oh and laugh she did😂
Holy shit I can count on one finger how many times I’ve laughed during firewood videos. Hahahahha this looks like something I would do.
Happy to help!😂😂
your gonna need new parts for the Firewood Tumbler, have a good Evening to both of You
Yes I will
Not sure if it will be long enough to be effective. I’ll be watching to see how it works out for you. Double check that the motor is wired for 110v and not for 220v. That would make it draw too much amperage and have low starting torque.
Thanks, we’ll see how it goes
It will be interesting to see if the mini trommel will spin with wood in it.
Yes I’m curious too
You ain't right! No way is that going to have enough power to tumble firewood. Outta be interesting to see how this brainstorm works out. Keep em coming. Love Rachel's tank tops.😊
I’ll figure something out! Thanks!
That was awesome
Thanks Ted!
I look forward to seeing this contraption in operation.
Thanks! Hoping I can get it running
I would think although the black pipe may be stronger the angle iron if the idea of this is the chipped the bark and all that crap off so you have just firewood the angle iron would do a better job of that and if you use beefy enough angle iron you should be good!! Just found your channel today I think I’ll watch for a while pretty good stuff❤️❤️❤️🇺🇸
I thought about that as well. Thanks for tuning in!
Should be a good project for you Heath. You really light up the day sparky ⚡️⚡️😅
Thanks Bob! 😂
Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.
Thanks!
I orded the new axis
That thing looks awesome!
Hi Heath it needs a new capacitor which is the oval tube on top of the motor £10 here in the uk
Thanks Robert!
You let the smoke out of it!
Sure did😂
Holy..that was amazing. You had enough fire from those extension cords to spark some Blackhorn in that CVA hahaha. Good times guys 👍👍
😂😂
I would use 1" 14 gauge round pipe for ur tumbler the wood would slide through alot better vs angle iron
Great advice, thanks!
😂 with the way it was sparking when you unplugged it i am thinking your electric meter is spinning about as fast as that drum when its running .
It was definitely pulling some juice😂
LOL
!!SEND IT!!
Yikes that was almost bad! Im thinking you'll need a new motor but the project sounds like a good one to me.
It was very unexpected! Thanks Tony
Have the motor rebuilt. New brushes.
Thanks Jimmy
Change the male plug to a new one.. preferably a nylon one no metal... Then try to get a new capacitor which is underneath that top cover on the motor and maybe your star capacitor take it somewhere match it up.
Definitely needs some attention. Thanks!
Oh my goodness we almost watched Heath get electrified on RUclips. I would have someone look at the motor.
Yes we did!
A hot connection due to the corrosion was melting your plug ends. Time for a new male outlet at the least! But those sparks WILL make a great video “short”. -Ha!…get it??
Yes it did!
Watch out!! Name the tumbler "sparky". Innovative as usual
Thanks Brian!
good video if you have some body near you take the motor to them and see if it worth fixing. all the motor repair shop and starter repair shops have closed up here. i dont know how well it will work for wood ..wood is a lot heavier than grain. angle iron would be best. Rachel if he tries to fix it get lots of life insurance on him. take care, be safe and well.
Thanks, definitely going to take the motor in to a shop before I run it again.
Hearing Rachel laughing made this video hilarious
Yes it’s great 😂
Hey Heath I would say the motor is shot ! Lmao at this video hearing you and Rachel laughing made me laugh! As far as not needing another gun, a guy can’t have too many 🤣🤣
That’s what I always say!
Put a hand crank on it and use it for raffle tickets!!
That’s one use!
🤣Good luck Heath.
Thanks! 😂
Might want to change the cord. Looks like the wires are worn inside.
Thanks Jon!
Take the screen out first leave the fence in and see what it does like that, how many horsepower is the motor?
Not sure Clyde, I’ll have to see if I can read it
I don’t have the time to try and tell you everything needed.
Take the motor off , it needs inspected and cleaned. The starter capacitor needs checked. Best thing for you is to take it to someone and have it done. With the cost of new motors today this one might be fixed cheaper.
Thanks for the info!
Now Rachel's gonna have to give me a tutorial on web design 😂😂
What can’t she do? lol
The gun issue. Sorry I missed the point of video. Magic smoke! What's that smell? I don't get the point of it? Fire wood tumbler. Love from minnesotans.
That armature is probably bad. That's a pretty big electric motor drawing a lot of amps. The resistance increases the more windings that motor has thus causing your extension cord to overheat. Your lucky you didn't get fried Heath. Unplug it from the power source not where it connects. My grandfather rewound armature by hand something I've never seen done before. The angle iron supports seem to be the easiest and provide the stability that you need. With that motor buzzing like it was usually means there's a dead spot in the commutators or the armature. I didn't see what size pulley was on that which is a determining factor for turning that drum full of firewood. I don't think Rachel would like it if you used her clothes dryer to tumble that wood. I can imagine her checking the lint filter and finding it full of bark, just kidding.
She definitely would not be happy about that!
Hey sparky!😂⚡️
😂😂
try to replace the starter . they are under 20 bucks
Will do, thanks!
I think you'll come up with something that will work with that, at least you have the basic design you could mock something else up with if you can't get that one to work.
You're online auctioning miscellaneous stuff and I'm still shopping tractors kubota wanted over 41k for a new 45ish hp and then 1800 more for 3rd function... used it's gonna be for me😂
New tractor prices are crazy! Hopefully I can make something work
I think that,s not safe to be dealing with. You might get electrocuted. Word probably not spelled right but you get the drift. You might get it to work but be careful. Stay safe.
It definitely needs some attention
Omg
🤣
I hope Ur life insurance is up to date , if Ur gunna play with electricity with no gloves on !!! 🤣😂🤣
Yessir!
Take away his debit card Rachel! Heath shouldn't be allowed to shop without you.
Shhhhhh! lol
Not sure its going to be heavy duty enough!! Might be too much weight from the wood!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
It seems pretty hefty, might need to add some reinforcements
OMG. wear some gloves. lol
I ain’t scared
