Boy you all got your exercise that day. Nice load of wood. 👍🏻👍🏻👋👋
Yes we did, thanks.
Love them Dolmars!!!
Me too! It’s a shame they no longer make them.
You will have Nice pile of firewood after splitting all that! Good work
Thanks, I agree! Time to get splitting now.
good video and job nice fire wood saws did really well. the flowering pear trees smell bad when you burn them nothing like apple. tame pears maybe diff, all of you got a work out. take care, be safe and well.
Yes they did! Thank you!
Ported saws are so much fun to run! Dyno Joe did a nice job on the 7900.
Yes they are! They definitely rip now.
You guys are animals! Keep up the good work and content 👍😁
Thank you!
A really busy day and a great score. Definitely going to check out the pants.
Thanks Jeff, they are comfortable!
Nice trade! Beautiful black locust!! Great job team HWM👍👍
Thanks Jeremiah, I agree!
The 7900 is such a joy to run. I'd love to get my hands on an 044 or 440
Yes it is! Love it! I was definitely happy to find this 044 and love running it too.
That Makita is a bad a$$ saw! Awesome job!
Yes it is Dennis, love that saw.
Beautiful load wood. Some big junks of wood. Chainsaw cuts those logs with ease. Lots help which made it good for cleaning up the yard. Great video as always.
Definitely nice to have the help and the saws were ripping today for sure.
Nice load. I split 4 IBC totes of locust today. Split supper nice on the Axis. You will definitely like it.
Thanks Chris, it does split nice and sounds awesome going through the splitters!
Great load of black locus saws are running great and cutting great. It’s good to see chips flying.
Thanks Brian, it felt good to be out cutting!
Very nice 👌
Thanks Ted.
Hi Heath and Rachel. Nice pile of locust. Truck and trailer full, 2-2.5 cords . Nice. Don’t wear yourself out, you need to be ready for HFH. Great job guys. Later my friends.
We’ll save some energy, if it’s anything like last year we’ll need it!
Your smart to have several saws, if one is acting up, you have another to fill in till you get the balky saw up & running again. Like how you keep some space between you and the other Bucker.
Thanks Dan, I always like to have a few on hand just in case.
Great load of wood! I wish I could find some locust. There’s not much of it around here. I need to get my 572xp ported!
Yes you do! It’s amazing how they wake up!
The Echo 501P is my favorite saw today.. I have always loved a 50 cc saw for everyday use and this is my all time favorite. I had a Sachs-Dolmar many years ago and loved it. About 10 years ago a dealer opened in Columbus and I went up there and bought a saw. It was very disappointing and the dealer didn't help. I think it was more a dealer problem than a saw problem, but I havn't had one since and he is out of business. I love to burn locust in my wood furnace.
Thanks James, that little echo is an awesome saw! Bad dealers are unfortunate for good brands. It’s too bad Sachs is out of business now.
Hey, brother. congrats on the new pants. They seem to be pretty cool. Chip
Thanks Chip, they’re definitely more comfortable.
HAY GUYS, NICE HAUL. I LIKE THOSE BIG ROUNDS; THEY LOOK LIKE 4-LEAF CLOVERS. ACTUALLY, THEY ARE MORE LIKE SQUAIRS THAN ROUNDS. THE SAW PANTS LOOK GREAT. HERE'S HOPIN' THEY WORK AS WELL AS THEY LOOK. MAYBE YOU CAN DONATE YOUR OLE CHAPS TO THE VILLAGE PEOPLE, LOL. STAY COOL, GUYS, AND KEEP PUSHIN' ON, PEACE.
Thanks Gringo! They definitely weren’t round!
nice custom weight belt you re wearing!
Thanks!
Nice load of wood.
Thanks Scott.
Hey when you are moving the big rounds I've found it easier to use a two wheel dolly with big tires
For sure, we used one a little here after we rolled a few Anthony went and grabbed his.
Pear is EXCELLENT smoking 💨 🪵 as long as it was fruit bearing…! (Ornamental pears like Bradford or Cleveland are only good for firewood or boiler wood….) Great score HWM…!!! And you can keep the pear bark ON the smoker splits…!! 😊😉
Thanks Ken, I think it was as this wood smelled amazing as we split today.
You go Rachel💪
For sure!
Hey Rachel and Heath , nice mother load . I was wondering what kind of pants you had on . 👍🏻🇺🇸
Thanks Del, the pants are so comfortable. I’ll have them on at HFH for sure.
The dolmar sounds and runs just like a ported, original 372 saw.
Before they had the strato air/fuel delivery or otherwise known as x-torque. And other emissions stuff.
.
Genuine versions of the gen1 372 are still available, but only in countrys such as Brazil, with no emissions laws.
And obviously sence there not supposed to be in north America market, there is no warranty.
I love that saw! Never run a husky but I’d be interested in running one of the older ported 372’s for sure.
Nice!!
Thanks Scott.
I had the opportunity to get a 12 full cord load of black locust this spring. I’ve burned oak for the last 30 years. Can’t wait for the locust to season. Have you ever split and heated with locust?
Yes we have and other than the mess from the bark when splitting it’s awesome!
Disclaimer: No grubs were harmed in the filming of this video (as far as you know!).
And here's some advice for you Herb(?): When you are cutting those big rounds into smaller chunks, DON'T cut them on the face of the Wood! Lay them on their side and cut the back side. You are then cutting with the grain instead of against it and it will cut much easier!
Ah good tip, I haven’t done much noodling but this makes sense.
You're cutting the hardest woodb in North America next to Ironwood. That's why it takes on a sheen and lasts almost forever. Many houses were framed in black locust so that it's hard to find now.
You've never sawed any Osage Orange[Hedge Apple] then. That stuff is harder than hammered hell.
@marykipp7268 Sorry I sure have in the fence line of the farm my dad grew up on in West Virginia.Anything else? We used the Osage to make knife handles. Hey, thanks for sharing though.
I love this locust!
nice haul. i lost dump trailer in estate fiasco. Sister (boyfriend) bought it. boo hoo.. That (and other things) was my Phillipe Charbonneau going to Kentland with his Mom, moment! HA! -John Jakes Bicentennial Series. Life goes on! :)
I love having a dump trailer! That’s too bad!
I love watching someone work hard like I used to do. Your vldeos of doing this is great and fulfilling, but how do I keep all that sawdust and woodchips outta my livingroom.HWM? LOL!
Thanks Philip, appreciate the feedback! Leave the wood chips for decor.
I thought we were going to see Rachel loading those rounds!
That was the plan but then Anthony lend a hand. Most of Rachel’s loading was done when she set the camera down. Don’t worry she’ll be back!
I’m gonna make an assumption that they make those pants in my size😁.
They are so comfortable.
🎉
Thanks Carl.
Ref from 10:30 of the vid, you can tell that your buddy's saw really needs to be sharpened. and at about 13:00, Yours sounds and appears as though you ran into a bit of dirty wood and maight need to change chains or sharpen yours as well
I definitely hit some dirt and the saw will be on the bench before the next cutting session.
Pear wood is an excellent wood for smoking meat it is just as good as apple wood its pretty hard to come by where I live in wisconsin so it is a premium smoking wood you should get top dollar for it good luck
Thanks Stuart! We just split most of it up today and the video will be coming soon!
Tou need a Stihl 462
I’d love one!
Where did you get the pants on sale at. I’m still seeing 280 bucks
It was on their website. I think it was a pretty short sale. I just got lucky.
Get Rachel some of them pants and you want have to distort the picture from her back side next time
lol Jimmy! I may just have to.
21:46 is precisely why you never ever cut with the tip of the blade. ever.
Bros got an iron grip on that saw, if it kicks back from binding in the wood like it did in that time stamp it's only gonna jolt the handle back against him and that's it. No risk of injury.
tell that to the people whose faces were mangled by a severe kickback.
it's only a matter of time.
I don’t too often but I always try to be sure to have ahold of it.
We got a few “spares” #chainsaw # chainsaw
Always nice to have an extra or two.
I’m might starting lobster 🦞 fishing Wednesday April 17 2024 or April 19 for sure . My lobster 🦞 traps are 153 lbs dry to put on lobster 🦞 boat they’re 252 traps to load on . Good 👍 weight for Heath to start with Rachel light and easy. 😊 own 4’ feet long and 28 1/2 wide wooden trap bottom full of concrete keep on bottom of Atlantic Ocean 🌊.
lol I do my best.
Hey sweetie ( Rachel) put them round on the trailer for your honey 🍯 bun 😊. I’m double Heath age , iiiii iiiii have NO PROBLEM putting them little limb on the trailer for them . Heath got to sign up at the gym if he want to be a logger Rachel. 😊
lol, I’m trying to catch up that’s why I had to load today.
Heath. Sound like wild turkey 🦃 in back ground? Hey 👋 spring turkey 🦃 hunt for the BBQ Buddy. 😊
He has some chickens and roosters. We have a few nice big toms around the boys will be chasing soon!
💪🇺🇸🪵nice load.
