And of that we queued up for only 4 attractions. We stayed on site and started our day at animal kingdom, so it's possible with planning and flexibility.

Hello! Just got back from our Disney world trip. I found out what you said about the tier system disappearing is slightly false. If you scan into a second tier attraction first, you cannot book multiple top tiers until you scan into your top tier. I went to a cast member when it wasn’t working and this is what they told me!
can you add chapters or the break points that a lot of channels are doing... for example in this particular video, so we know where to skip ahead for the next tip
@@johnsamuel1999 you are right, I was thinking of fastpass+, actually. It was of so much help and, most important of all, it didn't cost extra money. Superb video full of lots of great advice. i have one little suggestion. if your priority is guaranteeing your favourite ride rather than fitting in as many rides as possible it may be better to book your individual lightning lanes as early as possible. This is in case the ride breaks down at some point. If it breaks down early in the day and reopens later your lightning lane should still be valid. but if it breaks down in the afternoon and doesn't reopen that evening lightning lane booking could end up being wasted. Full disclosure my priority at a park is to get on my must do ride at least once so |I always prioritise then, even if it means missing out on other rides later.
Multiple day planning question… can a second person simultaneously book your multipass selections for a different day when the 7 day window opens? For example I book a Monday at Epcot while my wife books a Tuesday at MK?
I'm a little unclear on the multi pass day of booking. Can I book another ride after every scan in? So you can always hold three multi pass selections?
Thanks for all your great tips and guides. Can you let us know how we use the “free attraction photos” benifit that comes with lightening lane? No videos on RUclips mentioned it. Did I dream hearing about this benifit somewhere? Thx
Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. I wonder if it would be possible to have a sample multipass experience where you can practice selecting lightning lanes before you get to the park. That way when you arrive at the park, you’ve already practice trying to get passes.
If there two of us going- on our pre book day can we both be making selections? For instance I start booking from our last day and my friend starts booking from our first day and we meet in the middle?
Can you show how to modify the party size after making a selection? My understanding is you have select the same attractions for everyone in the party when making your initial booking in advance but then can modify and make different selections for some in the party afterward. For example I have a child who doesn't want to ride Space Mountain and I need to remove them from that reservation and make another reservation for her and another adult in the party elsewhere, say for Winnie the Pooh.
With the new multi pass system, am I able to book different tier one LL options for different members of my party 7 days out? For example, for our upcoming day at MK, can I purchase multi pass for everyone in our group, but book Tiana’s for my oldest child and husband, and then Peter Pan for the younger children and myself?
I haven't done it yet but I think you'll have to select for the whole group and after paying you can edit and change it for some people. At least that's how I understood it
Previously if you were late for a LL or a genie+ selection, they would honour it and still let you through. I'd love to know if this will still be the case for multipass rides. for example: If you're trying to book another multipass after scanning in to your first, but only one available time slot is coming up and you're across the park for a different ride at that time, should you just go ahead and book it even though you know you'll be late to it?
experience redemptions will work like they have with Genie+ and FastPass+, it'll automatically be added & will list the rides it can be used with if the ride you had a LL for is not running at the time. Rider swap can be used with LL as well, just talk to a Cast Member at the entrance of the ride!
Do you think multipass will end up being worth it for people staying off WDW property? My family has a vacation home in Orlando so we go 1-2x a year and would get genie+ during the peak seasons but I’m concerned that we won’t be able to score any of our top pick attractions with resort guests having a 4 day advantage. I want to note that I like that Disney is giving their resort guests a perk. they pay a lot, so they deserve it. I’m just curious what the difference in availability ends up looking like.
Hi! So while those Disney resort guests do have the upper-hand when it comes to top Lightning Lane picks (since they can secure theirs 7 days out), we were seeing a new wave of Lightning Lane options for those who were staying off-property and able to book theirs 3 days out. So I’d say it could still be helpful!
From my experience we weren’t able to hold 2 top tier rides at the same time. Once we completed multiple LLs during the mid day at Hollywood studios we wanted to ride rock n rollercoaster but we still had an evening LL for slinky dog. When I tried to get RnR it would have a message that said something like “unable due to similar experience”
So do you pay for each lightning lane ride you book, or is it, as an example ~$25 for August 13? and you pay for the day. Also how does it work if you have a disability card? Does the card holder and the 2/3 others with the person all have to book or is it just the disabled person that has to book?
Awesome video, thank you! How does the 3 day booking for off property guests work, is it based on the first day of your ticket? My tickets are September 8-12 but we're not visiting the first park until September 9th and want MLL for the 9th and 12th. Do we book 3 days before each park day? Both parks 3 days before the ticketed day of the 8th? I'm so confused!😵💫
When booking rides in advance, would we be able to buy an individual lightning lane for Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom and then book our regular Lightning Lane passes for Hollywood studios, if we don't book anything else in AK? We don't plan on spending too long in AK, and will be park hopping to HS. As far as we can tell, buying an individual lightning lane shouldn't affect the tiered ride selections, is that correct?
Sooo confusing. Went here on my honeymoon in '05 and been back 7 more times but this year will probably be the last. Disney is becoming greedier and has less services than ever while costing more and more. We've already spent $4K and haven't left yet.
When you look over the rides before 7am can you preselect the rides you want for each day and at 7am will those before 7am selected rides still be selected?
If you only book one lightning lane in advance (ie Expedition Everest at AK), how many lightning lanes can you book after you redeem Expedition Everest at a different park for that day, assuming you have park hoppers?
You can hold 3 at anytime, so if you’ve used that one you booked in advance you’ll be able to book 3 (and they can be anywhere). You will have to use that initial LL though
I have a question! If my husband and I are booking 7 days out, can we both book at the same time? Like if I am booking for August 15th in MK can he simultaneously book for August 16th in DAK? So that we can maximize results? I haven’t been able to find an answer for this yet.
What happens when a member of your group cannot go on certain rides while selecting from the app? Say for Magic Kingdom, four out of the five people you are going with all want to do Tron and Mine Train for the lightning lane and other fast moving rides for the multipass and fifth person cannot. Is there a way to select or deselect an individual person for each ride so you do not end up paying for all five people?
@dfbguide If two or more people are in a party/group, will they be successful at getting any earlier lightning lane reservations from a modification refresh?
QUESTION! So I understand if you are park hopping, you select 3 rides at your first park of the day. BUT can I select 1 ride at one park and the other 2 at the second park? Or does it HAVE to be 3 rides at the first park to start only? Thanks!
when you're booking in advance you must select all rides in the same park. On the day you're using it, you can modify those rides to rides in a different park OR start booking in another park after you've used your initial 3
I have park hopper so would I be able to select lightning lanes with multi pass for Epcot as my second park and be able to visit animal kingdom before going to Epcot? I would just be restricted to stand by lines in animal kingdom correct?
If you pick EPCOT in advance and go to Animal Kingdom first you’ll be using standby lines. You need to visit the park you booked in advance and use a Lightning Lane before you can book in another park
We go 9/15!!! Do you know if we do multi pass for everyone but only a select few want a single pass, can we do those transactions together? Or would I need to book the multi and go back and do the single separate? Thank you!!!
When you click modify then see a time you want, if you click change to this time does it immediately save to the new time or do you jave a confirmation screen come up?
Does anyone know what happens if all of your early picks are late in the day? I'm so worried that the pass will pretty much be useless because of late times. I'm going in December.
How does lightning lane work with multiple parties? If I pre-select rides for everyone, do I need to book the rides for everyone for the rest of the day?
Nope, everyone who has access to their own account (as opposed to having their account managed by someone else) will be able to book rides and make changes
The meet and greets are missing at the moment, as well as the VIP viewing for the Festival of Fantasy Parade in Magic Kingdom. This could change, though, so we’ll keep you updated!
After prebooking there are earlker ride times available but it wont let me change the times to the earlier time only to a later times and there is no overlap. Why?
Super helpful as always! Question-how soon before 6 can we start looking at the days options. I will get up as early as needed but I don’t want to get up for nothin’ 😂
Can I start booking the families rides for day 1 at Magic kingdom and at the same time can my wife start booking rides for 2 at Hollywood Studios on her phone ?
What if 2 of my family of 4 want to ride tower or terror? Do I book the multi pass in advance for all of us and then just scan in for the people who don’t want to ride?
You can split up your group and modify Lightning Lanes so that the 2 in your group who want to ride have Tower of Terror booked and the 2 who don't could grab a Lightning Lane for a different ride or a show during that time
Hi AJ, we will be visiting from the UK later this year, when will International guests be able to book there 7 days ahead if staying at a Disney resort. Thank you I love your vlogs.
The FAQs on LL indicate that resort reservation guests seeking to buy LL 7 days out from the first day of the resort stay, still need to be either inside the U.S. or Canada when they try to purchase the LL.
It’s horrible if you have young kids can’t get anything if you’re not staying on property. All of the early times are gone only thing you out can get if your lucky is a mid day ride on a low tier don’t expect frozen or any other similar ride anytime before 1pm-3pm Them not again until 830 or later if at all
Really think I’m gonna miss out on loads of rides next summer when I go. I am getting so confused and it’s already costing me £4000 plus airfare from the UK another $20~$30 a day is really stretching things. Bring back the old Fast Pass, I’m sure Disney doesn’t really need the money they are stealing from people on top of the park ticket it’s self.
Our first day is AK, with plans to park hop to MK later in the day. If I understand correctly, I have to pre-plan all 3 LLs at AK (saving $$ !). Once I scan into AK, do I have to use one LL there before I can modify to MK or can I modify all 3 as soon as I enter AK? Also, can I book an individual LL at MK at time of pre-booking?
Did the same last week, yes you have to pick AK LL first and pick 3 and get the Multipass for AK which is cheaper and can pick another park ride as you enter into the first LL ride at AK. Then you can modify the other prebooked LL to other parks if you want to. And yes you can prepurchase individual LLand virtual quejes across any park as long as your tickets are already park hopper .We purchased LL for Guardians and Pandora flight as we wanted to get the rides done early at AK and move out by 11am which we did easily.
only for US Citizen so far for us international Guests we have to be on US Soil hope they change that til my visit in 2027/2029. And even when some suggested it would be only name change for Disneyland it isn´t fully true since for WDW you can choose 3 LLMP picks from tier systems. But for DL CA and DCA you can only book ONE at the time and have to use it or 2 hours are over to pick the next and that´s make it kinda different so not fully the same like WDW but I guess the same Rule for International Guests we have to be on US Soil before we can book it so as example when I will arrive in my Trip next Year since I will not be in the Parks I will be able to hopefully book the one ride for the next Day as on-site hotel guest hopefully not to be in the park and than but not sure???? And shortly before Park hopping to the other Park with park hopper choose a LL MP for the other park than parkhop and use it and book the next.
Every time you use a Lightning Lane, you’re able to book another! So while, yes, standard queues are typically shorter at the start of the day, early Lightning Lane return times give you the chance to book MORE Lightning Lanes all day long. For example, if my first Lightning Lane return time wasn’t until 1 PM, there’s a good chance that the other Lightning Lanes I was hoping to snag might already be gone by then or listed for waaaaaaay later on in the day.
I am staying off property [3 day LL window] going on two consecutive days. Is it true that I can book LL for both days when the first day is 3 days out?
I had to call Disney to purchase a lightning lane single pass because the app wouldn’t accept two different cards even tho the cards weren’t expired and had the necessary funds.
I can see the benefits of some of the change but it still sounds so stressful and disappointing if you can't get the lightening lane. I miss the days when you just waited in line, the lines moved very quickly and you don't have to do so much planning you just mosey along enjoying everything. Now you have to be here at this time and then over here at that time, wait now we are changing it to this time, how is that fun???
You can absolutely still do it the way you wrote, but the standby lines are LONG. That doesn't matter to some people as it's part of their fun. If your goal is to get on as many rides as possible, this is the way to do it.
Still not happy about Annual Passes being treated as second class. We're coming to Orlando for two weeks at the end of October. My wife and I have Annuals but my mother-in-law has a date based ticket. Because we are AP holders, we can only have 5 park pass reservations. Additionally, we're staying off property, so we can only book MultiPass 3 days in advance. Because AP holders can only make 5 park pass reservations, our dining plans are really sketchy. We can make dining reservations but no guarantee of park access, either because there are no reservations available, or park hopping is full. Add to that with the new MP changes, we have to wake up at 6:45am every day past the first day of our trip to book a new MP, even though we're staying for 13 days. That is going to be a lot of early morning miserable days for me, trying to get park reservations (not as big of a concern) and MP (ugh). I found out that we can't even use the Free Genie part of park planning if we don't have a park reservation for that day, so our 14 day trip (13 park days) is going to be really hit or miss, just because we are AP holders. I get it that Disney doesn't want frequent AP holders to dominate the parks because they don't make as much money from them, but it would be nice if there was a once per year "vacation window" or something where you can book park reservations for your entire stay, or up to a reasonable number of days.
Skipping the line is a service Disney benefits from without giving ANYTHING. The people who provide the service are the other guests in the normal line/ queue. It’s morally wrong.
I was planning a two week WDW trip, staying at Deluxe resorts, spending at least 5 figures, but this new system is so incredibly complex and downright unfair, I’m canceling the entire trip. Not kidding.

I have a question! If my husband and I are booking 7 days out, can we both book at the same time? Like if I am booking for August 15th in MK can he simultaneously book for August 16th in DAK? So that we can maximize results? I haven’t been able to find an answer for this yet.
Can we only book one ride a day or can I use multi pass to book Barnstormer at 10am and again at 6pm?
What happens when a member of your group cannot go on certain rides while selecting from the app? Say for Magic Kingdom, four out of the five people you are going with all want to do Tron and Mine Train for the lightning lane and other fast moving rides for the multipass and fifth person cannot. Is there a way to select or deselect an individual person for each ride so you do not end up paying for all five people?
@dfbguide If two or more people are in a party/group, will they be successful at getting any earlier lightning lane reservations from a modification refresh?
Hi am I right in thinking if you are flying in from England and staying in a Disney hotel you still can not book your LL multi pass rides? X
Can two people signed in under the same account book Multi-Pass Lightening Lanes for two different parks at the same time?
yes! you can book different days at the same time
Very informative!
Thanks for tagging along with us!
Going in the beginning of October and hopefully is not too busy😅
How does lightning lane work with multiple parties? If I pre-select rides for everyone, do I need to book the rides for everyone for the rest of the day?
Nope, everyone who has access to their own account (as opposed to having their account managed by someone else) will be able to book rides and make changes
Is it my imagination or are there less attractions included with this new LL pass?
Compared to Genie+ or Fastpass+? Genie+ is the same because the same rides are LL: single pass; Fastpass+ had everything though.
Why?
Going tomorrow 🐭👑👸🏻🥰
WOOHOOO!!!!
If I am staying on property but only have date based tickets do I still get the option of booking LL 7 DAys prior to
YES!
@@dfbbreea thanks x
Super helpful as always!
Question-how soon before 6 can we start looking at the days options. I will get up as early as needed but I don’t want to get up for nothin’ 😂
Can I start booking the families rides for day 1 at Magic kingdom and at the same time can my wife start booking rides for 2 at Hollywood Studios on her phone ?
Yes!
If you are forced to prebook only 3 tier 2 rides, can you exchange one for a 1 tier ride if it becomes available?
yes! you can check back ahead of your trip (and day of) and modify one of those tier 2 into a tier 1 if it becomes available
What about a 2 yr old? do I have to purchase the lightning lane passes for him too??
Nope! If kids are under 3 they won't need a ticket or Lightning Lane passes
Can you book for two people on one phone?
I will be taking your guide into the park and on vacation there lol my lord is this way too much hassle for a vacation to Disney.
Are character meet and greets included in this new LL system?
Not at the moment, but we’ll let you know if that changes later on!
Hi is it true you can only ride each multi pass ride once per day?
that is true
@@DFBGuide They could do standby line to ride a second time, though. Right?
Got off work early today. I only worked for 1 hour
It’s horrible if you have young kids can’t get anything if you’re not staying on property. All of the early times are gone only thing you out can get if your lucky is a mid day ride on a low tier don’t expect frozen or any other similar ride anytime before 1pm-3pm
Them not again until 830 or later if at all
Were you the voice for watch mojo on RUclips
Omg hi DFB
Hi!!!
I wonder how it is now that hotel guests can book further in advance
😅 phew, that was a lot of information!
RIGHT!? 🥵
I'm struggling with the concept of booking all your multipass LL as early as possible because thats when lines are naturally lower.
This just makes me want to go to Disneyland instead.
Why do" we" europeen visitors can get a pass?
I can see the benefits of some of the change but it still sounds so stressful and disappointing if you can't get the lightening lane. I miss the days when you just waited in line, the lines moved very quickly and you don't have to do so much planning you just mosey along enjoying everything. Now you have to be here at this time and then over here at that time, wait now we are changing it to this time, how is that fun???
You can absolutely still do it the way you wrote, but the standby lines are LONG. That doesn't matter to some people as it's part of their fun. If your goal is to get on as many rides as possible, this is the way to do it.
1 minute ago is diabolical
Surely they'd be making more money from AP holders via food/merch if they look after said holders instead of shafting them.
Based on your response sounds like you should cancel your trip so you can sleep in.
Tip: don’t buy unless you have a hotel reservation

Oh Gosh. Anyone still relax when they go on this vacation?
Yep, relaxation is scheduled between 12:40 PM until 12:55 PM in preparation for the 2nd release of the virtual queues at 1PM. 😂
My solution is I Don't use lightning lain, and I can do want I want when I want
Skipping the line is a service Disney benefits from without giving ANYTHING.
The people who provide the service are the other guests in the normal line/ queue.
It’s morally wrong.
I was planning a two week WDW trip, staying at Deluxe resorts, spending at least 5 figures, but this new system is so incredibly complex and downright unfair, I’m canceling the entire trip. Not kidding.
Oh no! It's really not as confusing as it sounds. After getting going, it's pretty straight forward; it IS frustrating, though.
I hate it so much
My head hurts and I want to cry.
Why is it so over complicated?
