Ecclesiastes 1:9 says, "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun." (I miss abbreviated Ecclesiastes on the end screen!"
Timeless wisdom. I felt a little nihilistic when I first sat down and thought about it many years ago, but then I realized that pretty much everything I experience is new _to me_ .
That smile looked like the one on my son's face when I helped him with his first truck. His truck to sat for many years and with some tinkering we brought it back to life. He's still driving it today. Yes I did shed a few tears, I was one proud Dad.
When I was 21 I bought a 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 two door hardtop. It was a one owner with 46,000 miles. I had always wanted the 67 Ford because that’s what my parents had when I was a little boy. I went to school one day and when I came home my dad had my Galaxie in the garage and had it all cleaned up & polished. It looked like a diamond. You can’t underestimate what it means to do things for your kids. My dad is no longer here and that memory means everything to me. God Bless.
Amen... I was most pleased with the smile on his face... He understood the sacrifice of his father and grandfather and was proud to have it... More to come.
Back in 2016 I bought an ‘89 Lincoln town car, gutless and didn’t want to downshift. Owner dumped it cheap, said the engine was tired. Turns out nothing wrong with it, except the throttle body linkage didn’t have proper travel, a separate issue, and the kick down cable for the trans was loose. The plastic spacer for it was broken. Once I made proper shims and set the cable properly, along with setting up the throttle travel correctly, ran like a brand new car. I’d check the kick down cable, that would sure make it lazy if it isn’t set up correctly. Great videos btw. Thx!
My brothers first truck in 2001 was a 87 f150 xlt Lariat and we had it up until the last couple years. I miss driving the old beast. I hope your son enjoys his truck!
It has been a work in progress.... tagged and insured today... new tires now and new paint and interior soon... Hope all is well brother.. Effingham isn't bad either.
Fathers and sons no better feeling in this world better than that emotion. My son and I have that same connection with our MOPAR"s. He is helping me with mine. God bless and great video.
Ì fell your emotions rev I've remember when I got my boy his first vehicle. Seems like yesterday he was16 ,now he just turned 33 happy birthday jc and many many more god bless
I would just like to take a moment to thank you for what you do sir. I'm truly blessed to have come across your channel, I love the content. I'm a recovering addict struggling to rebuild, but you inspire me to get into doing something like this. I've always been into working on vehicles and things since I was a little boy.
I just changed the TPS on my 88 f250. It had a high smooth idle with no guts when in gear. The new TPS fixed it right up. Love the channel, keep'em coming!
Awesome, I'm glad to see his smile. I got the same look from my son when we bought him a 1983 Thunderbird. Thank you for the video, many blessings to you all.
So glad to see that your son appreciates the work you do and the vehicles that you work on. It's clear to see that you have taught your children the importance of hard work and being content with what they've been given. God bless you! And keep on doing what you're doing.
I got a text from you saying you sent me something. I was what, no one sends me anything. Got excited and went to open and something happen with phone. It just went out into space. Thank you rev for sending it. But never got to see it. Bless you brother. Your friend rich.
That old Ford will be worth more to JC than if you gave him a new 2022 Raptor! I wish I had the skill set to give my kids a project vehicle that we could work on together like that!
It's crazy to think he's that old...he grew up so fast! Enjoy your truck bub! I had the same truck as my first truck but it was 2 tone brown with an inline 6 with a 5spd
Congrats, JC on getting a great truck from your grand dad! Congrats Rev and Old Man for getting that valve clatter/knock resolved, and the fuel pump issues fixed. May old Tradition continue running long and well enough for JC's kids to enjoy it.
Me and my husband wish we would have had that kind of nice truck at 16 to drive that that's awesome that cleaned up really really nice yes truly blessed
This episode has gone straight to the top of my favourites. I needed cheering up today and you left me with a big smile and a warm feeling inside god bless you and you're family for keeping me going in my time of loss and sorrow. Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧
How about cleaning the O2 sensor by the starter? It's been rusting for 15+ years.A can of 'Seafoam' in the tank will help clean the old carbon off the valves, etc.and help clean the intake runners too.Happy Birthday to JC.,and congratulations on your new truck. The blue mentioned with white down the sides, like whatever color is there, will really look nice for years to come. The roof white will keep the cab cooler too.
Rev, I completely rebuilt my '79 302 with E7 heads from a 1987 mustang GT, new rings, new Eagle crankshaft, bigger camshaft and new lifters. I still have the 2 barrel carburetor on it while I'm breaking in the new parts. Took me 4 months to do. But it runs so good and even has a little bit of a lope. Just a story to tell JC about starting a project and how good it feels to finish it with wonderful results!
Hello red It's good to see you and your family. Putting puddin back in shape I see. At least your son will have a ride . I'm sure you will get it in top shape. Hi Nicki t. Nice seeing you, and kids. And I see old man in background. Hi old man. Just wanted to say hi to you all. Bless you and family. See you rev.
Hey Rev so happy to see that your father truck is being handed down to your son! My grandfather did the same for me for my first car, it was 54 Plymouth and I loved that car! I think JC will be very happy with this old girl!!
Hey rev I noticed you said his indicator on the dash was off. I don't know if you noticed it or not but the indicator cable has a screw and it's tension is adjustable right there on the column. I enjoyed the video very much I've been building a 1991 f150 for the past few months.
I'm so happy that you all were able to keep the F150 in the same family. In my opinion I would leave the paint scheme exactly like it is now. I kept my white with blue mid-section paint intact and alone. But it's your son's truck so the paint color will be his decision.
I've inherited my dads 1990 F250 XLT with the 5.0 with under 100K that is in good condition and very solid after he passed about 5 years ago. Been trying keep it running (stays at my moms house in the country) and maintain it when I can. My young boys love riding in the back of course down country roads, hopefully someday they will own this in about 30 years when they can appreciate it that it was their grandfathers who bought brand new off the showroom floor in 89' in Farmington Hills, MI but the vehicle spent 31/32 years in TN. Love seeing pressure wash videos!! Though I commend your effort and work and glad you have the time and patience to replace part after part after part on a vehicle that has sat for years. Obviously buying a used Accord or Toyota truck would have been much simpler and cost efficient but you don't get to spend your time with your son on this project where there is no monetary value on that. Hope it all turned out in the end and he is still driving it. :-}
Theres nothing at all like getting your very first pickup truck. I dont think it even matters what it is. When its your first, its the best one in the world to you. Even if it is a Ford, instead of a Chevrolet. 😆. Happy Birthday JC, and enjoy your truck. Just be careful in it.
Look to see what you're going to work on next you and the old man keep working together . It let people know that you can have fun together. Keep working together. Look see what happens next.
I love it!!! Just found your channel today. Already can tell you that you gained another follower today, in ford saving and in god. I to try to rescue old fords. Looking for some more if you have any extra!
Oh, one more thing to inspect. If the left side cylinder head still has the spark plug heat shield attached to the exhaust manifold there might be a possibility that the spark plug boots on cylinders 5 through 8 are shorting out to the heat shield. You can look for a spark jump at night with the truck lights off and the hood open, look for electrical arcs jumping from the spark plug boots to the heat shield especially at cylinders 5,6, and 7.
I know your son is happy and I know you’re overwhelmed that you’re giving him his first Ford Truck 🛻 after all the obstacles that you went through God brought you and the ole man through it. Reminds me of Philippians I can accomplish All things through Christ which strengthens me. You’re a good man, Godly man you’re a good good father. May Y’all have a Blessed One Sir. Iron sharpens Iron. By the way JC mentioned about painting the truck Grabber Blue or white. Grabber Blue is a pretty color but if he chooses white look on a color chart for a 77 Thunderbird white. My first truck was an 83 F100. Still have it over 20 years later. Old Fords are awesome.
That smile looked like the one on my son's face when I helped him with his first truck. His truck to sat for many years and with some tinkering we brought it back to life. He's still driving it today. Yes I did shed a few tears, I was one proud Dad.
Im a proud one too..
I tell ya the joy in that young man's face was priceless rev

These bricknose fords are one of the best looking trucks in my opinion 👌 great video 👍

Rev, your show is a breath of fresh air. As people continue to do wrong to one another, it's good to see some positivity. Happy birthday to your son.
John... we love sharing our content... and we are honored that people like yourself watch.
I think that Tradition is a very suitable and apt name. JC's first pickup and I am sure he will cherish this forever.
My brothers first truck in 2001 was a 87 f150 xlt Lariat and we had it up until the last couple years. I miss driving the old beast. I hope your son enjoys his truck!

I have had a lot of scammers attack the channel.. It was spam.
Way to go Rev. Tell JC to enjoy the truck. Those are good trucks. Like I've said in the earlier video. I put over 400,000 miles on one just like it.

His smile says it all, very cool
Rev, I completely rebuilt my '79 302 with E7 heads from a 1987 mustang GT, new rings, new Eagle crankshaft, bigger camshaft and new lifters. Hey Rev so happy to see that your father truck is being handed down to your son! My grandfather did the same for me for my first car, it was 54 Plymouth and I loved that car! I think JC will be very happy with this old girl!!
I think we are all pleased to have a part in getting the truck for JC.
Thank you so much for sharing your joy and fun. That will make a great truck. My son has an 89 F150.
I think JC will have he a good ol truck ! Tradition is a very good name for it !
89 was my first truck. Nice truck you have there JC. Wished mine was a Extended Cab.
Hey rev I noticed you said his indicator on the dash was off. I don't know if you noticed it or not but the indicator cable has a screw and it's tension is adjustable right there on the column. I enjoyed the video very much I've been building a 1991 f150 for the past few months.
I can relate to the emotions, same happened to me when I gave my son his first mechanic's tool set.
Enjoyed this one a lot. Your son will always remember his first truck and all that your family did to get it going for him. Good memories.
You're the best Rev! Love your channel!!!!!
Happy birthday JC and you're going to have a nice awesome truck
He appreciates it.
Thanks for sharing Rev
I'm so happy that you all were able to keep the F150 in the same family. In my opinion I would leave the paint scheme exactly like it is now. I kept my white with blue mid-section paint intact and alone. But it's your son's truck so the paint color will be his decision.
Nice work Rev. And family!! My first car was a four door valiant, so jealous for sure

I have the same truck with a 4.9 Windsor straight 6 and I love driving that thing around
You know the value on those are going up up up, that's a good truck for him
I was smiling the whole time watching this on my lunch break at Robins AFB man. I love those old Fords too! Thank you
Great find on figuring out why the throttle butterfly's were binding up!
Great video Rev God bless the family. Beautiful family time. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

Nice Tradition! You are really bringing your son up right!
Look to see what you're going to work on next you and the old man keep working together . It let people know that you can have fun together. Keep working together. Look see what happens next.
I noticed you stapled the tent up. Ha! Good job.
Was that way for years.. kept the headliner out of your teeth.
Would love to see how "Tradition" evolves now that your son has it. Much love from Australia!
Hi from Scotland. Nice video, & a lot of work. JC has a real nice truck & I’m sure he’ll enjoy it.
Nice one Rev..
Take care,
John
Thanks 👍 John..
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks

Praise God. The boy's first truck. Enjoying life and praising God.. Y'all be good👌🇺🇸👌👌🇺🇸
I love it!!! Just found your channel today. Already can tell you that you gained another follower today, in ford saving and in god. I to try to rescue old fords. Looking for some more if you have any extra!
Good stuff Dave, keep them coming! :)
Love the video, keep up the awesome work!

Iron sharpens Iron.
By the way JC mentioned about painting the truck Grabber Blue or white. Grabber Blue is a pretty color but if he chooses white look on a color chart for a 77 Thunderbird white.
But if he wants a bright white there’s a GM Fleet white or Refrigerator white.
Y’all are Blessed beyond measure.
This truck wiuld look awsome with a fresh two tone paint scheme and some ford factory rims keep up the good work!
Good to see that old truck running and moving again. Hope JC enjoys it.
This was so much fun watching the process of getting this truck back on the road reliably. I hope he’s enjoying his first truck.
That's a great name for the truck Rev and just a great episode
Really enjoy your videos may God bless y'all 🙏🙏
good show guys
Great video. Good looking truck
I look forward to the headliner repair video. Interested to see what fabric JC picks.
Great video. I love the truck
Thanks 👍
I got a 1991 ford f150 with the 5.0l. That pickup has been in my family for about 20years now. I still drive it to this day even if it has over 250k miles
Also the most command problem with that engine is gonna be the EGR and oil pump
Wonderful video, very touching and loving
Thanks Mike
