Not if this is the only one in your shop. Plus it's meant to appreciate. I'd go 300 max though. People can potentially buy this for $2k if this is the only place they could find it. I'd personally buy that for $500 from that shop. It's easy art to store. Also when Banksy dies, his artwork price will skyrocket.
I've never heard of this artist, or many others that are popular these days. However, MANY of these "street artists" have genuine talent and they're expressing it any way that they can. I'm not an art collector but I can appreciate true art. Next time you're setting at a railroad crossing, waiting for the train to pass, look at some of the intriguing graffiti on the rail cars. People spend hours creating the good stuff using only spray cans!
Don't forget that this episode was recorded in 2013. A lot can happen in 7 years. To give an example: I was once given a bottle of Karuizawa whisky (very tasty), If I hadn't opened it up then 7 years later I could sell it for 10 times the value that it was bought for, and If I would still have it today it would even bring 20 times as much.
I own one of these. Won it when i bought tickets to see an expose of his pieces in amsterdam. Mine is nicely framed and I would never sell it. I love it
The owner treats it like Banksy hand painted each bill. I remember watching the "exit through the gift shop" documentary which featured a segment where Banksy was making these bills. They're all done on a press 100s (if not 1000s) at a time like the expert said.
Being from bristol, Banksy is a legend of our city! Banksy was originally going to chuck £100,000 off a building in london or something - he ended up not doing that at all 😂 I have 4/5 of these at home - im off to las vegas 😂 My mother had a work friend who apparently had banksy sleeping on his sofa back in the early ‘90’s - to be fair ask any bristolian and they probably know who he is 😂😂
@@SlapRoundTheChops well apparently they knew it was banksy because he developed his “stencil technique” whilst he stayed there, he tried to use spray cans normally and almost got arrested, ended up laying under a train carriage or something and came up with his stencils technique because he needed a quicker way to get his art on the wall! He is anonymous, its just a thing where bristolian people act like they know him as very little people actually do 😂 that comment was sarcasm 😂
Hi from the Philippines! I hope you can also make an episode of a tour of your store since it is impossible for me to be there. I just hope i can atleast see a video of the whole store.
The problem with Old Man was that he was not grumpy for his age, but he seemed grumpy because he had a good hunch and was usually right. So sometimes he's a genuine businessman on his good mood days, other times he'd be stubborn and get some payback against the others.

Pawn Stars that was unusual of chum!
Old man is an old man.
Thank you

Had he been Rick
He would have bought it for $75
Maybe less 🙄
It would have been smarter. Chum over paid. One fifty tops.
The guy probably wouldn’t have accepted one of ricks deals😂
Lol everyone has a different negotiation skills u can learn from all of them for future negotiation
I think Chum definitely overpaid. I'm surprised the old man let him get away with it. The expert said 3-500 and Chum paid 400. 300 s/b Chum's limit.
"Tell me what you got here SON?"
Grumpy persona of the Old Man only for the show. Rest in Peace Old Man. 🙏
I didn't know he had passed on. That's sad news.
ajmittendorf His passing was around 2018
Rest in Peace to a young legend.
Tbh I appreciate the late Old Man's way of callin' his patrons by SON.
@Lord ballsac the 2nd I disagree. How many millennials you know have kept up with new things? That's what Corey and Chumlee are there for.
Plot twist
This guy actually is banksy 🙃
Banksy an anti capitalist would go to a pawn shop to haggle money for his work, sure
@@tuts351 even if that were true, he still has to eat lol
no way will Banksy sell his artwork. He built a shredder in his poster frame so he can shred the poster when it's on auction.

And you have a genuine counterfeit!.. Yaaaaaayyyyy!!!!
Chum is the only one in the shop that has any concept of "THE NOW"

Rick: I’ll pay 9 dollars for this and Im taking a huge risk here
Lol...
And it will sit on my shelf for a year
He's going to have to pay to frame it, too!
Rick is cheaper than a plastic penny
Unlike them Rick he knows the value of a Banksy Art

Just saw this same note with Banksy’s actual autograph on it selling for $145.
These are now going for around £2000 just shows what a good investment Modern Art can be!
you can get them for 150. banksy has re used them for multiple events so they arent worth anywhere near as much as they were 10 years ago
"How often can you say you own a banksy bill?"
About whenever you buy any of the other thousents of them out there?
$150 would have been my limit. They way overpaid for that.

You know, Banksy. A piece of his sold at auction for $9,900,000 in 2019.
Well, maybe it's art, and maybe it's not.
Art and it’s value is in the eye of the beholder

Sounds like me and my autographed photo of Muhammad Ali. I trashed the authentication papers--I'm never selling it.
Yeah I also have a genuine one signed by Banksy himself. I have it framed with a picture of him signing it
I have one of these, he printed a few millions worth
I’m from Bristol and his work of art is fantastic

Banksy just made an appearance on a subway in London. He wore a tyvek suit, a respirator and a hat. He had someone record him and then post it online.

'Genuine counterfeit!' 🙂🙂

This note should have risen in value since his painting was sold for millions.
In the UK, they're going for around 2,000 dollars.
Just googled it. The prices ad low ad $19 as high ad 3K
i feel like Chum bought that for himself lol
It is illegal. But it is also still art. Art is basically anything.
It's technically illegal to deface a £10 note. Di-face is another thing.
