They are rolling out parking assist and ranging with the cameras now with version 11 and should be widely available within a month or two. The good thing with the cameras is that they can be used on the side of the car where USS usually isn't.
Was on the VW ID.4 waiting list for 8 months. Delays and price increases pushed me to the RWD base model 3. Took delivery on Feb.11 in NJ. No sales tax, $4000 rebate, $7500 IRS credit. Car has been wonderful! Only regret was not opting for the white interior. On day of delivery, 36 model 3 and Y's were picked up. Nearly all were white base models. I too rented a model 3 before ordering and that was the convincer.
@@JSLReview Beyond great! Prior to ordering I sold my used Honda for nearly the same amount I had paid for it in 2017! Timing was perfect. So glad I didn't wait for the ID.4. Had no idea I'd enjoy the model 3 so much.
I just took delivery Tesla yesterday and happy with it. Although I think the price in the US is so high. Price in China for the exact same car is only 23,0000 yuan which equals to 33.5k USD so pretty much 10K less.
@@JSLReview l picked the same one you did, the basic model 3. honestly has more power than Mercedes GLE and GLB l drove before and can’t really feel the speaker is inferior. Feels good to me:D
Just looked up China's Model Y, it's 410 miles range?! 5 seconds with LFP vs 4.8 sec 0-60 US model. China's MYSR rear wheel drive has 338 miles range. 6.9 sec 0-60.
@@Trust_but_Verify , those numbers are based on different testing methodology. The US' EPA cycle is the most accurate. The European cycle is extremely optimistic. Looks like whatever China uses is fantasy land. If anything, China models get smaller battery packs than US, not 30% bigger!
It's such an amazing car. I am coming from a BMW 2 series, test drove M2, Porsche Cayman's and the sheer amount of fun from a Model 3 is endless. It's fast, practical and most important green! That said, this is definitely not a Sports Car even though it's fast. It's just a very comfortable cruiser. Totally agreed on the look. It's going to age really well.
Green? By the time you took delivery your new car already polluted more that your grandpa's Camry after 500k miles. Can't believe people's absolute ignorance.
I recently took delivery of my black base M3 RWD. Took 2.5 weeks from order to delivery! I went over the car like inspector gadget and aside from some small paint swirls mostly from the people drying the car (it’s raining a lot in CA) it was perfect aside from my touchscreen. After 4 days, the screen kept blacking out at my workplace and that happened twice one day after the other. Took it to Tesla where they replaced it. The panels lined up, no gaps, no foggy head or tail lights. I too thought about the Y but realized I wouldn’t utilize the extra space as much as I wanted to lie to myself and I realized with my city commute the base RWD is all I need from a practicality standpoint. Overall, so happy with the car. I find myself feeling calmer and enjoying the commute :))
Congrats on the car! Nice that you were able to replace the screen, better to address those issues early on. Glad you're enjoying it, keep us posted on how things progress as you break it in!
What's an avg cost for PFF on a model 3? For fron bumper, fenders, wing mirrors, and hood it appears to be $1400. Also is it enough to get PFF or also ceramic coating?
Charging LFP batteries to 100% regularly is for BMS calibration and making sure your Tesla's range estimate is correct. It is also for cell balancing, ensuring cell (and therefore pack) life.
I'm getting mine Tuesday and am excited about it! I've never bought a car this way before. Mine is about as base as they come (except for the red paint!), but I'm not going to use the ugly (to me) wheel covers and have ordered the Tesla hub caps to go on the quite nice wheels hidden beneath. After I've lived with it for a month or so I may get the wheels powder coated an almond color, which will contrast nicely with the red paint.
Everyone’s choice is based on different situations for me is the model 3, in my particular situation I’m waiting to finish the process of buying my house to pull the plug on one, I just bough an Acura RDX last year which drives awesome but is thirsty, so I’ll keep my Acura SUV for long trips and occasional weekend beach day and use the cheapest M3 for daily driving👍.
They're both a great vehicle but I can't get over the "stretched Model 3" look of the Model Y. It looks inflated and awkward from the outside. Good thing is that it will drive and be just as enjoyable as the 3 with the increased storage and utility of a crossover.
Hey sorry for the late reply! In my opinion I think the bass is more than fine. Sound is full and I have no issue with it. I’m not a huge audio guy so take my statement with a grain of salt. Let me know if you go through with the order!
@@JSLReview Thank you for your replay and I presume all Tesla models use a heat pump to heat the car in cold weather. Seems like a viable option for my next car. Which will be electric regardless of brand/model.
PPF does not completely protect from Rock chips …..just a waste of money considering most legit body shops will only charge about $500 to do a facelift on your vehicle every 2 years
Missing ultrasonic sensors are literally the only thing stopping me right now. Ridiculous to have such a high tech car with such a basic and useful technology missing from it. I refuse to buy until they bring it back or fix "tesla vision"
Yeah it’s annoying that they took them off without the replacement ready, hoping Tesla Vision steps it up sometime soon. And that it works as well as the sensors!
It appears that you live in a northern climate. How do you feel about having a standard range RWD in the snow? Does it handle well? And how does your range last in cold temps. Great video!
So I haven’t been confident enough to take this out on a serious snowy Chicago day, but it’s managed light to moderate snow fine. That’s with all season tires too, I heard getting dedicated snow tires for the winters is the way to go with this car. You will see a dip in range for sure mainly due to the use of climate control but it hasn’t been an issue given my driving needs and my access to home charging. Hope this helps, thanks for watching and for the feedback!
@@JSLReview If you regularly drive in winter weather (snow, sleet, etc) you should always get winter tires regardless of RWD, FWD or AWD. Traction is king in slippery conditions.
quick question on credits, my understanding is when we file taxes next year, if I owe 0 taxes, I get 7500 back from IRS because of these credits? If I owe lets say $1000, then I get $6500 back?
Not based on what you owe at year end but how much tax you needed to pay for the whole year. Jobs would auto deduct your tax already. Look at your 2021 Form 1040 Line 24, that should have at least $7,500 to get full credit. If it says $5,000 then max you can get back is $5,000.
Cruise control (+speed control), voice command, autopilot follow distance, media controls, volume, etc. and holding the left button opens a menu that can control climate, acceleration mode, interior lighting, wiper speed, etc. Basically the buttons can do everything They can be clicked, scrolled, pushed left or right, or held down
I have the tesla wall charger and the standard M3 and similar to you I've had it for a month now. I've been charging my car every 2 to 3 days to 100%, I've already lost 3 miles of range but I was kinda expecting that. Overall the car has been amazing except for some rattles and a wind noise. I already took my vehicle in for service the first week I got and they didn't even fix any of my complaints. Not sure if I should bring it back or try a different service center.
The rattling noise is likely the vehicle panels/chassis loosening up from the potholes and other structural highway issues we drive on every single day, This is especially true in California, and the North east….the roads just ruin any car.
@@marshallfelter2414 oh I know all about squeaks and rattles, I've been an automotive technician for Mercedes Benz for 15 yrs. I already know where and what is causing the rattles in my vehicle but if I don't want my warranty voided I have to get the people at tesla to actually fix those issues. I assure it's extremely frustrating having to rely on someone else to fix my vehicle.
@@marshallfelter2414 it's the rear passenger seat back, the hold down bracket seems to be loose. And the front drivers door panel is contacting the dashboard by the A pilar.
I got my delivery for M3 SR in Jan, love the car and level2 charge at home and work, charged to full once a week but have notice just two 2 and half month it loss 3 miles of range. Is this normal?
man i dont think anybody can really compete with tesla now. elon really knows what he's doing and he has the first mover and volume advantages. Wouldn't wanna be the competition. The model 3 is like 40k with 7500 credit 32,500. Thats still a tad pricey in my book, but overall in 2023 terms it's not. Plus you do save about 100 a month on gas by my calculations (at least I would, YMMV), thats not nothing. If you have the Model 3 ten years you'd save 12,000. It's not justification for buying the car IMO and it takes a long time to pay off, but it's a nice bonus. However where I live in Texas, they charge you 400 extra upfront and 200 annually extra to register an EV. So you give some of that back. In ten years you'd give 2200 (400+200X9=1800) back on the fees, if they stay the same. So you'd still save $9800. Probably my BIGGEST issue is, I currently have a home with a garage. As you note the perfect charging setup. However I am strongly considering moving back to an apt sometime in the next few years. A tesla would then be a big negative I would think, but I'll have to research more.
Have you checked your tire pressure? Mine got delivered with high too much pressure, which resulted in a bumpier ride than the test vehicle i've driven
i have to super charge all the time since i don't have a home. i was told that supercharging all the time gets really expensive , and also i was told that it shortens the battery life ?? is this all true ?
It will definitely be more expensive than charging at home as you do pay a premium at any public charger. And in theory yes fast charging the battery all the time will shorten the battery life quicker, but it may be negligible from a user experience given the long lifespan of the battery itself. Hope this helps!!
Haha if I went with the white interior I think that would have nailed the look but I couldn’t pull the trigger. I know the wood trim is polarizing, I think it looks ok with the black interior, I would have hated it on the white!
Does the model 3 performance have a better sound system or other features that the RWD version doesn’t have? I’ve tried to find comparisons and cannot find anything.
Performance has the following: longer range, dual motor, all wheel drive, premium audio system, fog lights, spoiler, floor mats, faster acceleration. Hope this helps!
You had to have taken deliver before April 18 in order to have qualified for the full $7500 tax credit. But Tesla lowered the price to help compensate for the lost tax credit!
@@JSLReview it’s awesome to have a review from a tech guy and not a car guy because I’m not a car guy either so you touch down all the things important to a person deciding on that car. I don’t subscribe to much but you’ve earned mine!
Hi! Great video. I have the exact same car/trim and I have been driving it for 2 days! Does your range reduce at the same rate as your odometer increases for each trip? I have noticed that on the highway at constant speed or around 67mph, my range reduces much faster than the mileage I cover. Almost 15 to 20% faster. That’s got me a little worried. I’m not sure if you cycled the SOC before the car “reset” or recalibrated. Comments?
Hey there, congrats on the car! I’m in Chicago so the cold weather is impacting my range. If it’s cold and you use the climate control, I heard it’s normal for range to drop significantly. Not worried about it for now, will monitor to see if it normalizes once the weather changes.
I don’t think so, you have to upgrade to either the long range or performance model 3 for that. There are hacks and third party kits to activate the additional speakers the car is equipped with but I have no experience there.
I’d be cautious driving it out in a big snow storm and I’d recommend getting dedicated snow tires. But Chicago is pretty good at cleaning up the snow quickly, and the car does fine in light moderate snowy conditions
@@brandon6759 oh ok.. because ive seen people get blocked in and even while their off auto pilot the accident avoidance stops the car from impacting the vehicle blocking your path. I always wondered if the videos i saw were just BS or if it was true.
I would think they have a setting on to avoid collisions in those cases. I have done some “aggressive” driving in my Tesla that should have stopped me. It only beeps warnings at me. Plus there wouldn’t be so many wrecked Teslas in the scrap yards if that were true. You can look them up on Copart salvage auctions.
I rented a Model 3 for a week and was impressed with the ride and comfort. Yesterday I ordered a white Model 3 RWD with sport wheels and white interior. I really went back and forth between the Tesla and Hyundai Ioniq 5 but the $7500 rebate made the Tesla so much cheaper I could not justify the Ioniq.
@AutomaticMamba Yes, it is a $7500 credit on federal tax liability. It does not reduce the purchase price. I've read in 2024, buyers will be able to sign that credit over to a dealership and reduce the purchase price.
The suspension is supposed to be upgraded to a much more comfortable version for all 2023 Model 3 and Model Y's, perhaps that's why you don't find it that bad :)
I believe they previously had stiffer suspensions because initially Tesla cars were more of a sporty/speedster car brand. As Tesla became more and more mainstream and bought/driven by regular people, sporty suspension didn't make sense. Most regular drivers just want comfort suspension/driving, so as it happens, Tesla switched to a softer suspension system.

Is there an option of unclocking additional range in the base model in the official app? I wonder if it has physically smaller batter or is it limited by software.
Haha I’m a bit hesitant to really pressure test it in the snow given it’s a RWD but it’s handled light snow really well. I heard getting a set of snow tires goes a long way for the model 3 I might explore that next winter. Thanks for watching!
They are the 19 inch sport wheels from Tesla, you can configure the RWD with them on Tesla’s website with you order. It’s more expensive but I think it makes a substantial difference in looks!
Having bought a competitor EV, we were on the fence with Tesla. Recently tho, we came across a used 2022 Model 3 RWD with 8k miles.1 drive and I gotta say, it's an amazing car. Roomy, super comfortable seats and a really intuitive UI. Ours also has the 19" Sport Wheels but is the red color and black interior. We're thrilled with it and I'd happily buy another. Great video...
@@JSLReview, We also have a 2021 VW ID.4 and it's a great SUV. The CCS charging infrastructure is terrible, so it's not our long distance choice. Now the SuperChargers are slowly opening up, that might change someday.
Don’t lease because you do have the option to buy it when your lease ends with Tesla. I leased mine and my order came in last week. Tax credits for this model will probably be gone in a couple weeks
@@Patrick-pr6zh not sure what you meant. You leased your Tesla. Currently there is no option to buy at end of lease. The lease option seems like a good deal even without the tax credit.
Hey! I’m literally just clicks away from buying one and I gotta ask, is the $7,500 actually taken off from overall price? On the Tesla site it shows two monthly payments. One after “potential savings” then a separate higher price without those savings.
It’s a tax credit that you don’t get issued until you file your 2023 taxes so it’s not taken off the MSRP. There’s a lot of nuance to the tax credit I advise talking with an accountant prior to purchase
The "potential savings" is just Tesla estimating how much you will save with the car minus off the vehicle's purchase price. You need to click "purchase price" which shows you the base price of the vehicle and then any additional price changes if you make changes. Additionally, a $1390 destination fee, several hundred dollars for title/registration fees, and sales tax (if your state does that for EVs) will be tackled onto your purchase price so that total will be your "amount due". Remember that you only put down $250 for the order fee and then when the car is finally available for you to take delivery, then that is when you pay the "amount due" (if you're financing, then you gotta fill out that info in the Tesla app). State rebate could be subtracted from your "amount due" total but it depends on how your state does it. The federal tax credit is NOT subtracted from the amount you need to pay. You should read the IRS guidelines because they may change things by March 31st which will affect you (you need to take DELIVERY of the Tesla before whatever date they put for you to qualify for the federal tax credit along with all the other requirements such as income). The federal tax rebate amount is obtained after you file taxes for year 2023 in 2024 but again read how it works and talk to an accountant/tax professional because it's not guaranteed you get the full $7500.
Wait so you got your full 7500 tax refund already? I purchased the same car at the same time, my purchase qualified for the same incentive but how do I go about actually getting the $7500 credit?? Please help or reply with any information would be amazing. Much love
It’s not a refund, it’s a tax credit that lowers your taxable income by $7500, which depending on how much in taxes were withheld from your income in 2023, can increase your refund amount. You’ll be able to file for the credit next year when you do your 2023 taxes.
@@BengalTiger47 ohhhhh okay. Yeah my bad I meant to say tax “credit” but thank you for insight! So what you’re saying is that I’ll be able to file for this next year when I do my taxes for 2023? So I pretty much gotta wait a year to get the 7500 tax credit for purchasing the car ??
@@KushDaily69 yes. Starting in 2024 the tax credit can be applied at point of sale. However, there will probably be stricter battery sourcing requirements which will either decrease the credit amount, or make a lot of cars ineligible. This is a great time to take advantage of the full $7500.
@@BengalTiger47 awesome. Yeah so I received delivery of my car on march 3rd, so I should be fully eligible for the 7500 come around tax season when I file next year to redeem the $7500 tax credit. @@KushDaily69 www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f8936.pdf You’ll submit this with your taxes when you file. Tesla will send all other required information to the IRS. FYI this is the 2022 form, they will make updates to this next year to reflect the correct data for 2023.
I’m waiting for my model 3 rwd hopefully this week! The fact that people are polarized by brands these days annoys the crap out of me. Just because I buy an iPhone doesn’t mean I support Apples decisions in what they support. The same with every freakin thing. I don’t know why people cannot be mature enough to know these big companies regardless of who could give a crap and you don’t have to agree with an employee at a company to know they have a good product. Also Nvidia talking about you! None the less, great integration with the electrical infrastructure. Tesla is just so far ahead with the experience that until you sit in and drive one you will never understand how far in the future they are.
Thanks for watching! So I’m pretty cautious and haven’t driven in a lot snow - my guess is that it’s not great given it’s a RWD, but I’ve had no issues driving in minor snowy areas so far!
Agreed with the look of the model 3. It's plain but classic looking. I actually find it pretty appealing. We got the 2023 model and charge to 100% every other day (we only have access to the slow charge at home currently. Can't install a faster home charger as we rent.) Car is 6 weeks old and haven't had an issue.
1799 for full front. If you decide to do it, I’d find a good installer with a good rep. Might be more expensive but trust me, it makes a huge difference in terms of quality. Hope this helps!
Honestly really nice to hear the Model 3 ownership experience from one of Telsa's target audience as it makes it more understandable why Telsa sells/makes cars the way they do. As for me the vast majority of points you made in this video is 30% why I love my 2020 Mustang... So I get why you like the model 3 and feel you they ae not bad vehicles just miss understood and over hyped.
Wow, I'm glad I came along your video just in time. My MY was supposed to be delivered next week, but after reading here that the 7500 tax credit is deducted from taxes, I immediately canceled and reordered an M3. You're a life saver because my wife would've killed me 😅
Glad the video was helpful. Yeah the whole tax credit thing is confusing to say the least, I recommend connecting with a tax specialist to ensure you know exactly how it works
What change did that do for you by switching to M3SR? So that you can sure to have delivery by 3/31? FYI, if you make too much money you don't qualify for tax credit.
I just took delivery of my Model 3 RWD and I charge it up to 100% about once or twice a week. The reason for this is because we are currently experiencing extreme weather and I am preparing for massive power outages. Once summer comes around I will likely just charge to 90% weekly and 100% monthly to recalibrate the range. (I work from home) While yes charging to 100% will not hurt iron based batteries as much as NCA batteries it’s still not the healthiest thing to do to your battery. The only reason Tesla recommends charging to 100% regularly is because LFP batteries are twice as durable as NCA batteries and they need to be recalibrated to give you the most accurate range estimate. The last thing Tesla wants is a bunch of LFP owners stating “I had 20% and all of a sudden it dropped to 5%!” This is a true possibility if you have not recalibrated your LFP battery for few months.
Personally do not like any form of screens in cars they are too distracting and after time suffer more issues than having switches. A phone mount and your phone does the same “interactivety” stuff and won’t be out of date in a few years
Did the $250 deposit this past Saturday night and am picking it up TOMORROW!!! All done in 1 week 🤯 also bought on a “whim” due to price drops and tax credit.
Weird thing is we still get the ultrasonic sensors on Australian delivered 3s and Ys. Even now March 2023. I find the ride on the 19 inch wheels actually surprisingly compliant. Ours is a late 22 Shanghai car so could be a different tune to Freemont cars
Thanks for this video man. It was immensely informative. I'm actually contemplating between the Model Y LR and the Model 3 RWD. Presently, I'll be honest, I truly prefer the Model Y over the Model 3 RWD because of its power and SUV like size. Also, I'm a 6'1 dude and my current car is already a SUV. However, there are a couple of things that has me still on the fence.Sigh! 1. I work from home so my car will be mainly used for road trips. 2. I live in a condo and thus I don't have access to home charging. 3. I live in Canada, and It's a 15K difference between the RWD vs the Model Y LR 4. In Canada, only the RWD qualifies for a $5000K cash incentive from the Canadian federal government lol so that's a 20k difference between the 2 5. Winters in brutal in Canada, so I don't know how the RWD would handle the Winter, event with Winter tires.
Saw some videos of these Model 3 RWDs in Canada, works just fine but range loss is always going to happen so just imagine whether you can live on ~300km range with fast charging in winter. SUV vs sedan, the model 3 is still quite spacious - it depends how often you're going on a road trip with a packed vehicle. If that's only a few times per year then you can also add some additional outer cabin space on the roof or behind the trunk on the model 3. A lot of handy stuff out there and most people wouldn't need to pack their vehicle often. Also model 3 RWD drives great and more sporty than the model y. But of course one can negate that by buying a model y LR/performance.
@abcxyz thanks for this thorough feedback!!! If you ever come across those Model 3 RWDs videos, please send them to me. A 20k difference is a big deal lol And, also, I'm not going to be doing road trips very often during the year
Sorry for the late reply, honestly I’d probably be more inclined to go with the model Y in your scenario. It’ll provide more space and range, which will help with charging out in the public. But I’d do a test drive on both before making a final decision!
There is no issue charging to 100% every day. It does slightly accelerate degradation, but since LFP chemistry is good for 3,500 equivalent full cycles to reach 90% of the initial capacity, which means the battery pack is good for around a million miles. The rest of the car will rot away before your battery degradation is an issue, so just plug it in, and let it charge to full.
How is regenerative braking when battery is charged at 100%? I was under the assumption we shouldn't charge to 100% just for regen so I typically just charge anywhere between 85%-93%.
Thank you I have also been charging to 100% based of what tesla said. For a few minutes this video had me second guessing if i should lower the charge amount.
I have a question regarding blind spot and memory seat in Model 3. Does it comes standard with blind spot, lane keep, lane change assist and memory seat function?
If by "lane change assist," you mean the car automatically changes lanes to the left or right while driving on autopilot, you will need the "Enhanced Autopilot" package, which is +$6,000. The blind spot feature on Teslas is not like other vehicles. There is no orange light or indicators on the side mirrors to notify you of a car in your blind spot while driving. Instead, when you activate your turn signal a live camera feed will display on the screen showing you your blind spot in real time. The car has cameras mounted on both front fenders that face towards the rear blind spot of the car and displays these cameras when you turn on your turn signal.

You can’t let Tesla off the hook by buying their car where they’ve removed the sensors that aids in safety for parking. You saying it’s “not that big of a deal” is such a huge compromise, FOMO is what they depend on. If vision Tesla was so possible, it would be available now.
I actually noticed the same when watching the video. Honestly, if it's not causing any functionality issues or concerns, then it's not really a problem aside from just cosmetic. I learned/realized that with Tesla, you're dropping a lot of $$$ but forced to accept a car with flaws to just become a Tesla owner. Obviously with other automobile/EV companies, you most probably won't expect the build quality issues that Tesla constantly faces.

Car has been wonderful! Only regret was not opting for the white interior. On day of delivery, 36 model 3 and Y's were picked up. Nearly all were white base models. I too rented a model 3 before ordering and that was the convincer.
Dude with all those incentives you got the car at a great deal!

I just took delivery Tesla yesterday and happy with it. Although I think the price in the US is so high. Price in China for the exact same car is only 23,0000 yuan which equals to 33.5k USD so pretty much 10K less.

Glad to hear you’re enjoying it as much as I am! Yeah it’s crazy that a family sedan can provide such an engaging and fun driving experience.

I have a 23 model, 3 Rear Wheel Dr. and I love it. No regrets whatsoever.
Did you get 3 months of free FSD?
Model 3 for Tesla is similar to what the Camry is for Toyota. Basic (in a good way) and will age well
What's an avg cost for PFF on a model 3? For fron bumper, fenders, wing mirrors, and hood it appears to be $1400. Also is it enough to get PFF or also ceramic coating?
I upgraded from an SR+ to a M3P. Absolutely the best decision I made. AWD, better sound system, more range, fog lights.. etc.
I love the song system
Charging LFP batteries to 100% regularly is for BMS calibration and making sure your Tesla's range estimate is correct. It is also for cell balancing, ensuring cell (and therefore pack) life.
Last month, I got my learners permit and I told my parents I was planning to save up for a Tesla in the future, definitely going for this model!
Congrats on the permit, and kudos to your commitment to save up, it’ll be worth it in the end
5 years later you will find you have more choices, much better what you see today.
Quick question - Model 3 or Model Y??
they both have thier pros and cons, but personally it fascinates me that a car can fit 7 people and be that quick. i pick the model Y!!!
I think the proportions of the Model 3 are nicer.
@@LukesVlogs97 nice my buddy just picked up the 7 seater Y, he loves it.
Isn't it true, that Tesla should paint that? Since it should be under warranty, right?
They could argue it’s a stone chip from the owners drive. That’s why it’s super important to go over everything upon delivery?

Assuming your tax liability is larger than the credit then you are correct.
From my understanding and from what the Tesla salesman told me if you don’t owe taxes then the 7500 is pretty much wasted.
Not based on what you owe at year end but how much tax you needed to pay for the whole year. Jobs would auto deduct your tax already. Look at your 2021 Form 1040 Line 24, that should have at least $7,500 to get full credit. If it says $5,000 then max you can get back is $5,000.
What use does the two buttons on the steering wheel have while driving?(volume,menu...)
Cruise control (+speed control), voice command, autopilot follow distance, media controls, volume, etc.
and holding the left button opens a menu that can control climate, acceleration mode, interior lighting, wiper speed, etc.
Basically the buttons can do everything
They can be clicked, scrolled, pushed left or right, or held down

I have the tesla wall charger and the standard M3 and similar to you I've had it for a month now. I've been charging my car every 2 to 3 days to 100%, I've already lost 3 miles of range but I was kinda expecting that. Overall the car has been amazing except for some rattles and a wind noise. I already took my vehicle in for service the first week I got and they didn't even fix any of my complaints. Not sure if I should bring it back or try a different service center.
The rattling noise is likely the vehicle panels/chassis loosening up from the potholes and other structural highway issues we drive on every single day,
This is especially true in California, and the North east….the roads just ruin any car.

man i dont think anybody can really compete with tesla now. elon really knows what he's doing and he has the first mover and volume advantages.
When I got the car serviced for the door I think they adjusted the pressure to what it should be
Unless they purposely under pressured the test vehicle so it rides smoother but sacrifices the range. M3LR 42 psi is the standard.
@@Trust_but_Verify I dont think so. Avg consumption was not that much higher then my model Y
i have to super charge all the time since i don't have a home. i was told that supercharging all the time gets really expensive , and also i was told that it shortens the battery life ?? is this all true ?
It will definitely be more expensive than charging at home as you do pay a premium at any public charger. And in theory yes fast charging the battery all the time will shorten the battery life quicker, but it may be negligible from a user experience given the long lifespan of the battery itself. Hope this helps!!

When will the Tesla vision cameras software become available z?
How to get premium audio? Is this something we can opt for once we place an order?
I don’t think so, you have to upgrade to either the long range or performance model 3 for that. There are hacks and third party kits to activate the additional speakers the car is equipped with but I have no experience there.
maybe i missed it. is this car rear wheel drive or so do you have any concerns while driving this car in Chicago's winter season?
I’d be cautious driving it out in a big snow storm and I’d recommend getting dedicated snow tires. But Chicago is pretty good at cleaning up the snow quickly, and the car does fine in light moderate snowy conditions
Is it true that a IF your blocked in by criminals your Tesla WON'T let you crash into a car to save your life?
Lol I’ll have to add that to the list of things to check on for the 6 month review💯
If you have auto pilot on it will try and avoid accidents and stop. But if you’re just driving around you can just zoom off.
Nice congrats! White on white is going to look🔥
the 7500 rebate is like a tax rebate that you get when you file taxes, right
Same exact thing happened to me.
@AutomaticMamba Yes, it is a $7500 credit on federal tax liability. It does not reduce the purchase price. I've read in 2024, buyers will be able to sign that credit over to a dealership and reduce the purchase price.
Ioniq 5 Limited is far better in my opinion when I test drove it. However, I had to get Model 3 for the fed rebate. Lol

The suspension is supposed to be upgraded to a much more comfortable version for all 2023 Model 3 and Model Y's, perhaps that's why you don't find it that bad :)
Yeah i heard it was worse before, really wasn’t that bad for me so you might be right.

260miles really means 200 miles. If that depending on various driving habits and weather/road conditions.
Is there an option of unclocking additional range in the base model in the official app? I wonder if it has physically smaller batter or is it limited by software.

@@amefregoso5491 not sure what you’re talking about
@@amefregoso5491 if you’re talking about the Tesla, I have six friends who have had them for over three years with no issues.
A credit means your taxable income is lowered by $7500.

The fact that people are polarized by brands these days annoys the crap out of me. Just because I buy an iPhone doesn’t mean I support Apples decisions in what they support. What change did that do for you by switching to M3SR? So that you can sure to have delivery by 3/31? FYI, if you make too much money you don't qualify for tax credit.
You’d still get your 7500 with Y model, the rebate doesn’t expire till 2032
This is off topic, but your audio is great 😅
Your comment actually means a ton, I put a lot of effort into my audio, thank you!
Good video! Gonna order mine next month for my Birthday!!!! Can’t wait bro!
(I work from home)
While yes charging to 100% will not hurt iron based batteries as much as NCA batteries it’s still not the healthiest thing to do to your battery.
Appreciate the comment, glad to hear I’m not the only one who researched the implications of charging to 100 daily. Are you enjoying the model 3??
@@JSLReview Im loving it. I love the efficiency and the power! People worry the RWD won't be quick enough for them... trust me its quick enough 😆
The thing holding me back from nabbing a Tesla is their QA process.
Yeah still need improvements in their quality control, hopefully something that gets better over time
2 weeks and now my dad has the base model 3 and loves it. Coming from a Volvo S60 2020
nice,,,, what hardware version do you have ?
Personally do not like any form of screens in cars they are too distracting and after time suffer more issues than having switches. A phone mount and your phone does the same “interactivety” stuff and won’t be out of date in a few years
Were you in Lecce ? (Italy)
Did the $250 deposit this past Saturday night and am picking it up TOMORROW!!! All done in 1 week 🤯 also bought on a “whim” due to price drops and tax credit.
Dude that’s crazy fast, congrats! What color and configuration did you go with?
@@JSLReview Thanks!! I got the RWD model 3! Gray paint and white interior!
@@melinasantos7680 very nice combination, keep us posted on how delivery goes! Make sure to bring a solid checklist for your inspection!
Did you get the tax credit? Or how does that work I heard you only get it if you pay taxes
Enjoy!
3. I live in Canada, and It's a 15K difference between the RWD vs the Model Y LR
4. In Canada, only the RWD qualifies for a $5000K cash incentive from the Canadian federal government lol so that's a 20k difference between the 2
A 20k difference is a big deal lol And, also, I'm not going to be doing road trips very often during the year
@@abcxyz123 If you don't mind me asking, which Tesla model do you have?
Sorry for the late reply, honestly I’d probably be more inclined to go with the model Y in your scenario. It’ll provide more space and range, which will help with charging out in the public. But I’d do a test drive on both before making a final decision!
There is no issue charging to 100% every day. It does slightly accelerate degradation, but since LFP chemistry is good for 3,500 equivalent full cycles to reach 90% of the initial capacity, which means the battery pack is good for around a million miles. The rest of the car will rot away before your battery degradation is an issue, so just plug it in, and let it charge to full.
This is correct. I keep telling people this - the battery will OUTLAST THE CAR.
How is regenerative braking when battery is charged at 100%? I was under the assumption we shouldn't charge to 100% just for regen so I typically just charge anywhere between 85%-93%.
Thank you! I've been charging to 100
Thank you I have also been charging to 100% based of what tesla said. For a few minutes this video had me second guessing if i should lower the charge amount.
@@sarahslater2582 if you had anything other than LFP, yes, you should charge to less
All it’s missing is some kind of strip
I have a question regarding blind spot and memory seat in Model 3. Does it comes standard with blind spot, lane keep, lane change assist and memory seat function?
You get blind spot camera, lane keep assist, and memory seats, all standard features.
📌 *Nice video, love how you take your time to educate your viewers. You gave me the mindset to invest my savings now I have made profits over $120k Right now and still making more , I am enjoying a good life with what I made investing. Indeed ‚building a Portfolio income (investing) through a licensed investment adviser is one out of many ways to earn passive income.*
My first experience with Mrs Jessica Madilyn gave me the assurance and confidence that has made me to invest without fear of losing, I really appreciate her efforts and transparency..
Mrs Jessica Madilyn McMain service is a talk of the town in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺 , I started with a little amount of 1ETH and she made huge returns and I have been constantly investing with her
A lot of people keeps talking about investments and how investment trade change their lives. I really need to engage myself in someway of earning more income and stop depending on the government
Thanks I will start trading with her, keep seeing her name pop up all over the place and I and my family are interested👍
I have broken through 45k, 72k and got my eyes on 120k! Champagne stays popping. She is too awesome. People prefer to spend money on liabilities, Rather than investing in assets and be very profitable.
You can’t let Tesla off the hook by buying their car where they’ve removed the sensors that aids in safety for parking. You saying it’s “not that big of a deal” is such a huge compromise, FOMO is what they depend on. If vision Tesla was so possible, it would be available now.
dude,
major gaps and fit/finish issues on that car especially hood and door seams
I actually noticed the same when watching the video. Honestly, if it's not causing any functionality issues or concerns, then it's not really a problem aside from just cosmetic. I learned/realized that with Tesla, you're dropping a lot of $$$ but forced to accept a car with flaws to just become a Tesla owner. Obviously with other automobile/EV companies, you most probably won't expect the build quality issues that Tesla constantly faces.
I was always driving big SUV, i like comfort and good music so it was a big question about tesla 3(I would go with Y but cant affort extra 15k in Canada) so i rented model 3 and ofcourse its worse comparing to big suv but way better than I expected. But sitting that low and have a roof line at same level what my mirrors at my current car is wild :D
Will try to get financing from my credit union and see what % they will give me cause in Canada Tesla is 6.6% on financing. I need to ask for full price cause I must have a car for work and cant sell it before. After I would get tesla Im selling my car for 15k and putting it into loan
My tesla will be red for sure on black rims and it looks so good after tesla changed that chrome for black. Just need to wrap tesla logo in black and it will look awesome
a senior living on the basic Canadian pension of $640 a month and $260 CPP cannot afford any new car,yet alone one of these,if they live in a seniors lodge,,there is no way of charging these, or live in old neighbor hoods wthout the infastructure to put charging stations in older homes.. we live in little higher scale neighborhood with a power bill of about $450 a month, so adding one of these cars to out already high power bill is impossible. , thanks Ken
Same boat. I'm about to take Model3 RWD in 2 days. Have been thinking between Model Y and Model 3 RWD standard range. You justified.
Congrats on the car! Let me know what your thoughts are after taking delivery!
One more sleep!!! So exciting ❤
Ordered a silver/white rwd the day after the price cuts. I had been wanting an electric car for some time and even looked at buying a 60k ev6 back in December while on vacation. I had a 21 rav4 hybrid so I was ready to make the full electric switch, only reason why we didn't pull the trigger on the ev6 was because it was black and I just can't stand a black car. I take it as God's timing because I saved about 15k by waiting a month. Been driving it since January 27th and I'll never go back. Congrats to all who were able to take delivery of a new Tesla!!!
Nice we had a very similar situation where the moons just seemed to line up, glad to hear you’re enjoying it - great color choice btw!
