Ironically, Sam Raimi's cancelled Spider-Man 4 was supposedly to have Anne Hathaway as Black Cat, so it's fitting and come as full circle.

@@donyoung333 That was the rumor for years, but then last year Anne Hathaway herself confirmed that she almost played Black Cat and if that had really happened she probably wouldn't be Catwoman in Nolan's Batman. It's a recent interview, you can google it, I can't post the link cause otherwise it would be marked as spam, but you can find very easily.
Your half right, Anne Hathaway WAS going to play Felicia Hardy *BUT* she wasn't going to become Black Cat, she was going to become the "Vulturess". It's the main reason I am truly glad we never got a 4th Raime movie

Fantastic 4 is still the worst movie ever made to me because I refuse to watch Madame Web.
I want them to have spiderman in college, sharing an apartment with 2 roommates; Bobby and Angelica.
Do the first 2/3 of the movie with Peter making odd excuses to dissappear while disasters are happening and the last 1/3 Firestar and Iceman show up to help Spiderman defeat a villian.

If Syndey Sweeney really is going to be Black Cat, that means that she's completely lost faith in Madame Webb and Sony's "original plan" for those characters in the Sony universe. Since it's very likely that Sony lied to the actresses about Madame Webb being in the MCU in the first place, I'm guessing she had a real sit-down conversation about the logistics of an MCU contract. I will say I'd probably be more ecstatic about these rumors had Madame Webb never happened. I think having Black Cat be in MCU Spider-Man 4 could work even if Felica Hardy is a student at MIT, but even if she's just going to be a criminal it can still work.
Lost faith? Pretty sure they never had faith. If any, they definitely lost it when reading the script or the first day of filming.

I dig this discussion. I think something that hasn’t popped up in a lot of post-No Way Home discussions is how integral to the character of Spider-Man and Peter Parker it is that he have to balance the power and responsibility of being a hero and keeping his loved ones safe. Like Back in Black is my favorite arc and it hinges on that premise. So the spell HAS to be undone for sake of the character, but in the meantime, seeing him break bad can be hugely fun. Let’s get a darker street level Spidey, have his tryst with Black Cat, lead that into Secret Wars and him getting the symbiote… and then when universes start colliding for the MCU reset, give me Zendaya’s MJ touching the black dahlia necklace with a solemn and knowing look to set up him returning to being the ultimate good guy, and marrying MJ.
Maybe version of MCU Felicia/Black cat will be better than the comic, games, and animated series.

Really hoping for MCU Black Cat in Spidey 4. She's almost essential in my mind.
I grew up watching those 90s Spider-Man cartoons along with the X-Men animated series. I liked how they handled Spider-Man being torn between Black Cat and MJ. I think Sydney was born for that role. I hope she gets a chance to "push Madame Web to the corners of our memory" and further. I like the Buc-ee's t-shirt, by the way.

"No Way Home" always made me wonder what happened to Peter Parker's records. If there is no memory (or record) of his existence, with no Social Security Number, bank accounts, etc., how is he not just living under a bridge? With no ID, he wouldn't be able to enroll in Empire State University or any university. It seems like a plothole, but I need to watch "No Way Home" again. Am I missing something?

When I think on Spider-Man and Black Cat, my favorite version of the story was in the Spider-Man 2 game. She showed up ( tauntingly) just when he needed a friend, someone who understood but could lighten him up to enjoy being who he is. To help him reset and find his direction. I'm really looking forward to this potentially making it into film. I adore Sam Raimi and I think he's grown enough as a director to helm this project.

Spider-man breaking a little bad with Black Cat (potentially with Kingpin being the mayor of New York) would be an excellent way to get him crossing paths with Daredevil. Matt Murdock wouldn't know who Peter Parker is anymore or that he helped represent him, and he could cross batons with Spidey and BC doing a little bit of crime, especially if that crime is connected to Fisk (knowingly or not).
