They are with a minimum service requirement of 3 years. Most soldiers in the Guard Regiment serve 6 years or more. The are all, including the Bands, front line soldiers. All these Guard Regiments have seen action in all areas where the British Army has been involved. Contrary to myth they are not toy soldiers as their Battle Honours will testify.
Im not British but it still pains me too see these soilders get so much disrespect the one that really got me pissed is when the lady hit the soilder with her Pringles can like you were in in the way learn some respect 🤦🏽♂️
This narrative is very misleading, the brigade of guards are highly trained fighting unit first and foremost, ceremonial duties are second. The narrator makes it sound as if the troops are trained in combat as a secondary duty. Please research the British army before making these videos. Also two troopers from the Blues and Royals and the house hold carvery were shown and they are two entirely different regiments in the British army.
Are their horses trained to bite or kick on signal, or are they truly more inteligent than avarage tourists? Also I havent seen that they bite handicaped people
It’s pretty scary to see how many ignorant people there are on the world that have absolutely no common sense whatsoever. And their ignorance and stupidity can cause a horse in a rider to die.

Just like the Honor Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Solder here in the US, no one would think about taking pictures or teasing them - Americans should show the same respect for these brave men and women and all others in the countries they visit! Some of these 'tourists' show in part why we are called 'Ugly Americans'!!!!
You join a guard regiment straight from civi street like you would with any other regiment. The footgaurds train with all the other infantry regiments at Catterick but receive extra ceremonial training. The guards performing ceremonial duties are dedicated companies, the soldiers transfer in and out of these companies from their active regiments. The Household cavalry are the same, people enlist, go through basic training, then go on to do mounted dutyman training or armoured training, they will then either be posted to The Household Cavalry regiment (armoured) or the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, soldiers will move between the two regiments during their career. Non of the guards are specially selected, it's all down to the training they recieve.
I find it so disgusting and disrespectful how people act when visiting these royal grounds. Sitting there laughing at the guards instructions, acting like this is nothing but a joke, and then getting upset when they face the consequences of their actions. People seriously need to get a reality check, and most need to "grow up", learn that life isn't just their personal playground, and they may have some very real punishments for their foolish actions. Bless the guards of the royal family, with all the respect they truly deserve.
Ridiculous, low class, disrespectful, arrogant. That’s what a lot of tourists are. Granted, there are many people who are fine, but we don’t see them on video.

Love how when they yell at people to MOVE, they MOVE. and then laugh about it like they just didnt get fuckn ordered and scared shitless.
The rule used to be "Don't touch the reins," but it wasn't posted. Then, after Charles ascended to the throne, new signs were put up. Now, the signs have been changed again, to a straightforward "Don't touch the horses." Edit to add: And most recently, boxes have been painted on the pavement marking "Keep Out" zones around the horses.
I got to see that incredible slow march a couple of times in Bad Hersfeld, Germany, in the 1950's. The armies from the US, West Germany, Belgium, and England all put on demonstrations, and we kids were allowed to wander through all their bivouacs and look into their tents, etc. That march requires endurance and strength. It's tough.
Such disrespect and outright stupidity! Complete lack of any common sense. They are the reason labels are put in children’s clothing stating “Remove child before washing”
Personally These guards and their horses need to be protected at all costs and fence off all areas so these arrogant interlopers are at bay by a good margin. Keep them well away, these people have NO IDEA how important these guards treat their duties.
I admire the royal guards as they dont ever get any appretiance from the public
What is "appretiance"?
@@freeman8128 sorry my english aint that good but i meaned like the public disrespect the royal guards sorry for it
@@Marco-fe1yythe public disrespect the guards but a good majority of them are respectful
@@freeman8128 I think he meant appreciation
Great document, interesting and well made. Thank you for your time and work.
Shame it's total American BS!
I should not have watched as im furious right now lol... im truly appalled by the amount of disrespect, entitlement and rudeness some people are capable of. Stay effing away of the horse and the guards!
Having to deal with such stupid ,uneduated people every day is a lot to contend with. The Royal Guards are wonderful always.
What a tolerant nation we are . Unfortunately some people take advantage of this.
A couple of years earlier a battle horse would bite off your ear if you get in their space.
When you see one of their rifles, that's a live weapon, these are soldiers on active duty. If you make yourself a security risk, they will do whatever they need to in order to keep everything safe.
Amazing horses knowing when people are disabled
They laugh but if I got yelled at by them I’d crumple to the floor lol sends me back to my childhood days 💀😂
Very impressive, such a strict, controlled demeanor.😊
Sad to see so much disrespect for the guards!!!!!!
I honestly, can’t see how people can laugh, at this blatant rudeness…..
The only thing Karen is winning is a one-way ticket to embarrassment. 😂 Love how satisfying these videos are, great channel!
Horse: don't touch the royal king's life horse!!
Proceeds to bite 😅😂
Isn't the reason why people travel to get rid of order and oppression? So tourists will always be unreasonable. Otherwise, do we expect everyone to spend money and time to learn about the culture of other countries?Traveling to respect others? He might as well go to work. To learn about other countries’ culture? I think these people may not even understand their own country’s culture.

That was the best video on the subject that I've seen so far. Thank you.
These people should show more respect.
I so much feel for the Royal Guard. I've never had the experience but of what I take note is to show respect. Unfortunately many tourist seem to think the Guards are there for fun to poke at and make fun. I'm so glad the Horse takes bites. If those mindless individuals persist with stupid behaviour then prepare to be surprised as nasty as possible. Tough luck stupidity tourists. My greatest respect to the Royal Guards. Excellent . God bless. From Australia.🙂🇭🇲🦘👍✌️
Many people are so stubborn that they can’t understand that they can’t touch the horse bcoz it there is a Danger.
Honteux ce que les touristes font subir aux gardes...il faudrait vraiment changer ça !...les pauvres subissent trop...ils devraient être mieux protégés..
Thanks for this video. Learned more about them :)
"Most are members of the British Army???" I thought they are ALL serving soldiers in the British Army.
Yes
They are fully trained soldiers.
there's also the royal navy and royal marines
They are with a minimum service requirement of 3 years. Most soldiers in the Guard Regiment serve 6 years or more. The are all, including the Bands, front line soldiers. All these Guard Regiments have seen action in all areas where the British Army has been involved. Contrary to myth they are not toy soldiers as their Battle Honours will testify.
Remember, groups like the Royal Marines get a look in every now and then.
I’m sick to death of theses disrespectful persons moaning about their complaints
Stupid laughing when a Royal Guard say: make way. Those Royal guards serving their country. I hate disrespect behavior of those tourists.
Thank you, I enjoyed the video 👍👍👍
The lack of respect people show the royal guards just blows my mind what happen to being kind I truly feel you get what you give in this world.
Didnt expect a short doc on this channel. Nice work!
Great share video
"Warning! Horses may kick or bite."
Tourist gets bitten standing too close.
Tourist: 😲
The affection for disabled people shown by the horses is very heart warming.
Damm I don’t get why everyone laughs and act like it’s funny people are so dumb and inconsiderate and dumb and selfish
When the guard points their gun at you, they're not kidding.
The British Royal Family has long influenced England? Shows a poor understanding of the UK.
I agree. But americans don't understand that there is more to Britain than England.
Are their horses trained to bite or kick on signal, or are they truly more inteligent than avarage tourists? Also I havent seen that they bite handicaped people
In a more humorous perspective. If I had their poker face, I’d win every family game night.
Absolutely appalling!
note how they all laugh and giggle like it's all just a jolly jape
Very educational vid! Thank you!
It’s pretty scary to see how many ignorant people there are on the world that have absolutely no common sense whatsoever. And their ignorance and stupidity can cause a horse in a rider to die.
Such disrespect from some tourists. Appalling
I have seen that the guards will be polite to tourists an honor requests such as pet the horse.
I have no doubt they get frustrated at a majority of tourists. But I'd hope the grateful and respectful tourists and children who look up to them make up for it.
Beats me why anyone would want to be a guard. Looks like a grueling job.
3:59 STAY OFF THE FENCE
Ridiculous, low class, disrespectful, arrogant. That’s what a lot of tourists are. Granted, there are many people who are fine, but we don’t see them on video.
Unbelievable these day, so much disrespects for the troopers, they are just doing there job, are those tourist thinks that they are special standing there for them, to making pictures..
BRILLIANT
Yeah
3:29 why is she trying to talk to the horse💀💀💀
사람들이 참 무계념합니다
만지고 줄잡고 기본이 안돼어 있어 한심한 인간들
S'ils se font mordre, pas à plaindre .c'est marqué pas toucher. Le respect doit être appliqué 😊
When the guards yell at the tourists and toursists laigh, just shows that the tourists are rude disrespectful batsards 😐. I bet they wouldnt disrespect their military or police force.
