Max: “I’m not gunna talk too much about Blood on the Clocktower” Me who was sent here by another video specifically to listen to Max talk about Blood on the Clocktower: [doubt]
I’m a Death May Die fan. I also enjoy MoM and they’re certainly different enough to own both, but if I had to pick one I’m taking DMD 10 times out of 10.
Love Forbidden Stars! I just wish I didn't sell my copy. It is definitely best at 2. But it never got to the table (like once a year). I am looking forward to the spiritual successor.
Base on my group, If I had only 10 it would be. Isle of skye Quacks of quadelinberg Isle of cats Cascadia Calico Nidavellir Citadels ( I would fight to keep it, but the others could not care less) King of Tokyo Incan gold Kingdomino
I do not understand your Obsession, but otherwise pretty good! Disappointed there is no Star Wars Rebellion - so your collection is a subcollection only by definition.
Yeah, for sure! I've played Spirit Island at all player counts except 6 so far and even at 5 players it's just as awesome! Also the replayability is just insane.
As someone who is also not good at roleplaying but still has a ton of fun with it, I have an absurd collection of TTRPGs that I've never even cracked. I just have so many dreams, and not enough friends willing to deviate from D&D! Wonderful video Max, awesome work as always keeping your cat's butt from staring directly into the camera.
I've still got all my 1st edition AD&D books, so understand having them on the list. Obsession would be in mine as well I think, it's so... clean... so... simple. I'd love Nemesis, but man, it's expensive. Great list.
Brothers Murph did a cool video where they only kept one game from each cube. You are at the mercy of how you organized your games and would be fun to see the Tablenauts take on it.
Mythic Battles Pantheon Dwellings Eldervale Cosmic Encounter Azul Castles of Burgundy Marvel United Dune Imperium Brass Birmingham Too Many Bones The top one, MBP, i think is the most under-rewiewed for how good and highly rated it is. All the reviews I have seen made really bad plays or botched a major rule... its always a close and tense game no matter what kind of armies we draft.
So to follow suit and not think about anything. I walked to my shelf and started pointing at games... 10- Bullet Heart 9- Moonrakers 8- Townsfolk Tussle 7- Wonderlands War (reluctantly) 6- Cloudspire 5- Nemesis 4- Radlands 3- Uprising 2- Too Many Bones 1- KD:M
So shout out to max for helping me find the house rule option for death may die season 2 episode 1 and it’s simple for anyone wondering. Any two resources can be substituted for one. So a gold and cash stack, could be traded in for one diamond. There it is, takes out the ridiculous randomness of this particular episode. Still tough, but not nearly as frustrating. Great video! We have as few titles in common!
You said you could teach even non gamers wonderlands war. Big claim, it’s almost a 3 in complexity. I know it would be too much for my group. They had difficult with game of thrones the iron Throne, one actively hated all the reading. It was not a good day. Isle of cats is their limit, yeah there is reading in isle of cats but it’s tile placement so even word reading hater already know the basic rules.
I love playing this game! Here are my 10: Chaos in the Old World Concordia Too Many Bones Hansa Teutonica Cthulhu: Death May Die Argent: The Consortium Snowdonia: Deluxe Master Set Inis 1889 Iwari The top 4 won't likely ever change. I could see potentially changing a couple of my choices in the 5-10 range, but this feels good for now.
I wanted to like Monikers so much, but the two fimes I've tried to run it at parties, it just felt //way too long//, and while we had some laughs, both times I think we called it before the 3rd round.
Oof, that’s unfortunate! I’m sure it’s not for everyone. There’s no other game that gets me laughing as much as monikers does, but I can understand if it’s not for you! :)
I’m down with D&D. It will never grow old. May not qualify as a true board game but…I’d stick it on my list too. We are obsessed with Obsession. It’s hitting the table tomorrow night. Just ordered the expansions. Yippie! All the middle choices I haven’t played but Awkward Guests is on my list. Nemesis is a nail bitter.
Honestly, I think the main driving factor for me getting more heavily into board games over the last year or two is because our Pathfinder groups fell apart and we haven't gotten new ones going again. If I could only keep one "game" it would absolutely be a tabletop rpg like D&D or Pathfinder.
I really could not go without Cthulu Death May Die... like I die alot but have a ton of fun, good warning on season 2. I do not have it but if it's annoying it would turn me off xD
well I got to 11......plus one Bonus :) Aeons End Brass Birmingham The Crew Cthulhu death may die Dwellings of Eldervale Kanban EV Marvel Champions Raiders of the North Sea Roll for the Galaxy Spirit Island Too Many Bones and DnD
There’s a fine line between not spoiling & also showcasing what you’re discussing so people who are interested in it will click on it. Initially the thumbnail was extremely blurred, but to an extent you couldn’t really see anything at all. Maybe poor choice of pic by me.
I don’t want to get into CDM because I hate feeling like I’m missing out without the Unspeakable box. Literally keeps me from buying even the core game. Screw CMON
They just announced a third season of C:DMD coming to Kickstarter sometime this month. Dunno if we’ll be able to get the old stuff, but something to keep in mind.

LOL
1 Great game that is like a board game and D&D is called D100 Dungeon Mapping game by Martin Knight. I love D100 DUNGEON!
I’ll give it a look!
Cthulhu Death may Die (DmD) or Mansions of Madness 2nd ed. You can only have one.
Many of those I really wanna own or at least try.

Still yet to play Star Wars Rebellion! Obsession continues to delight however.
This was a super fun video to watch. I think I just might have my next topic decided for next month’s State of the Hobby talk, haha. Thanks Max!
Can’t wait!
Happy to hear you talk about board games on your Draco channel.
Feels that way at times 😂
Cats needed the attention. Kovray mentioned how much they liked Comic Frog 🐸 they played at Shux.
Ooooh I'll have to check that out! LOVE Cosmic Frog!
Spirit Island is a MUST for me!
It came very close! Such an excellent gamer.
Yeah, for sure!
I've played Spirit Island at all player counts except 6 so far and even at 5 players it's just as awesome!
Also the replayability is just insane.
Nemisis!
Low key gonna have to try this challenge
Dooo iiiiit!
LOL That may be the single hardest thing I do as a RUclips content creator. Attempting to shield the camera from cat butts.
I've still got all my 1st edition AD&D books, so understand having them on the list. Obsession would be in mine as well I think, it's so... clean... so... simple. I'd love Nemesis, but man, it's expensive. Great list.
Been playing more Obsession on BGA lately and it’s rising in the ranks! I agree with you. So clean. Loving it!
Brothers Murph did a cool video where they only kept one game from each cube. You are at the mercy of how you organized your games and would be fun to see the Tablenauts take on it.
Great shout Mohammed! I will give it a look- might be able to do that :) Though my shelf is currently in shambles lol.
I want to try playing Blood on the Clocktower!
Definitely join us someday!
hahah awesome video and amazing ending
Thanks so much :D
More cute kitties! 🐈

and one more... Space Base
Great games! Cosmic was a thought- both of the Frog and Encounter lol.
I've still yet to play MB:P
So to follow suit and not think about anything. I walked to my shelf and started pointing at games...
10- Bullet Heart
9- Moonrakers

6- Cloudspire

Wow- great list! I just re-acquired Bullet
Came here for Cosmic Frog, ended up disappointed.
Just barely though! LOL
@@Tablenauts
I picked the game up after watching your playthrough.
It was tabled six times in two days at the board game meetups.
So shout out to max for helping me find the house rule option for death may die season 2 episode 1 and it’s simple for anyone wondering. Any two resources can be substituted for one. Are you sure Draco is not a dog?
You said you could teach even non gamers wonderlands war.

Isle of cats is their limit, yeah there is reading in isle of cats but it’s tile placement so even word reading hater already know the basic rules.
Is it redundant to get both dune and arnak?
Definitely not!
They get compared a lot but they’re not very samey, and if you enjoy both enough you should feel perfectly content owning both :)
I love playing this game! Here are my 10:
Chaos in the Old World
Concordia
Too Many Bones
Hansa Teutonica
Cthulhu: Death May Die
Argent: The Consortium
Snowdonia: Deluxe Master Set

The top 4 won't likely ever change. I could see potentially changing a couple of my choices in the 5-10 range, but this feels good for now.
Fun, right?
Heck of a list! Gosh I wanna play Argent so badly.
Nice to see Iwari on your list. Such a great game that doesn't have the recognition it deserves.
@@Tablenauts what player count do you usually play at? I think we were at 6 or 8, so maybe my problem was just too many players.
@@IslanKleinknecht ah, I’d agree with that then. I like 4 and 6. 2 teams of 2 or 3 teams of 2 / 2 teams of 3
I’m down with D&D. It will never grow old. May not qualify as a true board game but…I’d stick it on my list too. We are obsessed with Obsession. It’s hitting the table tomorrow night. I def need to try the Obsession expansions! Such a good game!
I thought tabletop skirmish games would make it.
Ya know… they probably should have. It teeters with DND on whether I should even put it in the same category. 😅
Honestly, I think the main driving factor for me getting more heavily into board games over the last year or two is because our Pathfinder groups fell apart and we haven't gotten new ones going again. If I could only keep one "game" it would absolutely be a tabletop rpg like D&D or Pathfinder.
Agreed that, with the right group, I’m not sure what tops RPG’s
I really could not go without Cthulu Death May Die... like I die alot but have a ton of fun, good warning on season 2. I do not have it but if it's annoying it would turn me off xD
So good!
Agreed! Hopefully it helps someone 😂
You probably recorded this before the announcement of season 3 of Cthulhu death may die.
Actually didn't, but did not even think about it lol
well I got to 11......plus one Bonus :)

So many!
I am simply begging you guys who make these types of lists to stop spoiling your lists in the thumbnail
There’s a fine line between not spoiling & also showcasing what you’re discussing so people who are interested in it will click on it.
Initially the thumbnail was extremely blurred, but to an extent you couldn’t really see anything at all. Maybe poor choice of pic by me.
A change has been made. Your feedback is appreciated ;)
Max, thank you! If only BoardGameCo would follow suit 😂

Understand that. May be available in the new KS?
