The update giving new weapons was pretty sweet. Can't wait to see post update recordings.
Yeah both of the new evolutions are great. Though the play is still get a high level/upgraded bible and some projectiles and its an instant win. Its nice to have a bible replacement in the garlic upgrade but if you dont get the garlic early its not worth going for. Getting the new double bird + unholy vespers tho... i straight up afked the last 5 mins to see if id win and i did xD
@@geebster. Since the update there is no "the play is..." anymore, or at least not as much as before, and the game's actually decently winnable on both maps now. Or at least it feels like that. Before the update it took a ludicrously lucky run to get even a normal mode forest win, now I can get hyper mode forest wins even when varying it up a lot with weapon choice (instead of just going for safe and strong options).
IMO hyper mode is easier than normal mode because of all the XP you get. It took so many runs to unlock hyper forest, but it's rare to lose while playing with hyper (this might actually be because I got all the unlocks tho, idk).
@@christinemorgan5379 yeah it's hard to know. I have all the upgrades and forest is easy even not on hyper, but it might also be that I know what I'm doing now and didnt when I first started. Maybe worth trying with upgrades off to see if that's it haha

@@jaywalker2k387 The second book is more RNG dependent. I've gone left for 30 minutes a couple of times, most of the time there's only 1, but sometimes there's 2 or 3.
The thing is that if you have bad RNG you are not getting the ones you want and you fill your 12 slots only very late, and you need them to be filled to get over the item cap by finding them
I remember when the Zellers in my hometown got replaced by Target. A good third of the store was permanently closed to the public, and only around half the rest actually had anything on the shelves. My friends and I went in a few times, but we quickly learned there was nothing there to buy, so we started ignoring it.
It sucks that everything gets so much worse that people have nostalgic thoughts for Sears.

Yeah Wizard of Legend was a game that had way too many things to control outside of the runs for it to be interesting.
I fell into the same boat. It starts off pretty cool, but then you just find the best spells to use and make that your default load out.
They really needed to have you go into the runs with only one randomly chosen starter spell and then have you collect a lot of random spells throughout the runs for it to be interesting. Give spells synergies with each other so every run can get powerful if the spells are used in the right way and it isn’t reliant so much on just choosing the right spells, but rather using the spells you’re given the right way.
that brings me back man. i remember me and my brother going in zellers the last day before they closed. All the empty shelves and we both picked up some stuff. i think i bought like 10 big packs of gums and something else i can't remember. it was kinda sad too because we loved going there.

Stores like Macy's, Boscovs, and Sears hold a shit ton of nostalgia for me. Especially around the holidays. Worked at a Sears in their Lands End department in my early 20's. One of the best retail jobs I've ever had.

When NL talked about people defrauding Costco by returning well used stuff It reminding me of when I worked at walmart. We had people that would buy bikes in the spring time and then return them 89 days later, 1 day before the 90 day return limit. Then just do the same thing next year.

I watched the Sears around the corner from me slowly die out over about a year. It was bustling, then it was a little slow, then it was understaffed, then shelves stopped being restocked, then the shelving started getting price tags, then it was closed.
Older craftsman tools are great. I own a couple of their hand planes. They shine up pretty nice, I usually would pick them up at garage sales.

That Zellers/Target story hits home lmao. I used to live nearby a Zellers at a mall that was there for at least a couple decades, and I went that Zellers like once, ever. Then I saw Target bought up the place and did nothing with it (it was premium real-estate too), languished, closed down, then got converted into a COVID vaccination clinic over the past couple years...

Yeah but they only emit those emissions in the act of providing goods and services. If they did things in a more green way, prices would go up. Consumers would just buy stuff from their competitors that didn't do stuff in a green way. And then it would be a different 100 companies polluting, but the same consumers.
That's why you need government regulation, so that everyone has to produce stuff the green way raising prices across the board.

I’m mild on it. I agree that corporations should be the focus but I think people can use that as an excuse to do nothing/give up, which is also harmful.
@@jpryan90 a great point. The EU's stupid 'use it or lose it' regulations gave Lufthansa the incentive to fly empty flights, which honestly they would obviously prefer not to fly. In a democracy, the responsibility is on 'we the people.' It always comes down to us.

To answer your stock question, companies often liquidate shares to raise money for investment. Also, companies can offer shares to aid in acquisitions. So the more valuable the stock the less cash they need to have on hand. Like Microsoft doesn’t have 60bil cash on hand so part of their acquisition of COD will be shares of Microsoft.
This is wrong. Companies issue new shares to raise money or for some acquisitions but jeah they want the price to be high for this too. Microsoft has that kind of money in cash and they will issue no shares for the activision-blizzard acquisition. Microsoft also makes that kind of money each year in pure profits.
A company wants the share price to be high for the sake of issuing new shares instead of loans sometimes.
Also shareholders elect the board and the board can fire the CEO. So the CEO has invested interest to make the board of directors happy to keep his job. The CEO in turn can fire other people so lots of people get fired if the board of directors is unhappy. The board of directors are representatives of the shareholders so they're happy when the share price is up.
If the majority of shareholders is big enough they can also initiate the sale of company assets if they underperform. There's also the possibility if peloton falls below book value some other firm can start a hostile takeover and sell all the assets basically liquidating the company. That's what a lot of activist investors do.

You don't need bible but it is very good.
Rune tracer, lightning, Upgraded Axe, Bible, Upgraded bird, Bone weapon, Upgraded fire wand these are the winning weapons. I find any 3 will win you the game.
I often find its not about the damage done its about how many enemy's you can hit.
Small thing i noticed playing this game last night is that you can right click through the chest opening sequence to speed up a bit.
I always watch this before going to bed. apparently busy screens are great at making me sleepy??

Speaking of not reheating cold food, when working night shifts there was a nearby place that made some sort of poutine with garlic potatoes, I would sometimes pick it up before my shift and leave it in the fridge to eat at lunch to be eaten cold. Eaten fresh it was probably a solid 5.5 to 6/10, but cold it got up to a very easy 8.5 to 9/10. You just gotta give it a try people.

New meta has just logged on Xp girl with super bird (both birds at 8), Axes, Hellfire, Laurel, Bible and wand. Also play library because theres a gold increase passive you can pick up after you max out your passives for secret extra passive value. Finally super garlic (garlic +pulminaria) scales with hp regen from super whip.

Everyone in the company is an employee of the owner. The owner is everyone holding stock. If you perform poorly and tank the stock price, the owner loses money. The owner doesn’t like losing money. The owner can and will fire you if you keep messing with the money (often the shareholders are represented by a board of directors). So, even though a company only makes money on stock when it initially offers it to the public, maintaining price is still very necessary.
And that’s beside the fact that companies can issue more stock after the IPO, they regularly buy back and resell their own stock, stock price is used by many as an indicator of overall company performance, etc.
"Why does stock price matter?" The company owns some of its own stock - treasury stock - and also have the ability to issue new shares. For example, when AMC was going up, AMC took advantage of the price soaring sold treasury stock to fund operations during the pandemic. Also, the market is fundamentally a method for companies to raise money.

Looking forward to post-update recordings. Evolved Garlic and Ebony Wings/Peachbone went from the worse weapons to literally the best when taken together.
My current record for 'most gold' on a run was, I think not coincidentally, earned on the same run as I set my 'highest level reached' record. I played as Imelda (for bonus XP gain) on Hyper Library (for extra gold and luck). I took the Crown (for even more XP), and waited until I had picked up a full loadout of equipment before picking up the Stone Mask that appears on the Library naturally, which lets you have it as a bonus item on top of the normal maximum.
With that, I reached level 132 and earned 10,551 gold off that run.

to answer the share value question, the shareholders are essentially the owners of the company; when the shares go down, they are literally losing money as the owners and as the owners they then have the right to force the company to act in whatever direction (speaking specifically to voting shares). There are many other reasons, but that's the main one.
The fact that he's been reading a ton of investment/money stuff and hasn't yet registered that stocks aren't just basically more respectable Bored Apes makes me despair just a teeeensy bit. Even if you're mostly holding mutual funds, you should know how it all works and be keeping at least a little track of what your brokerage is doing with that power.

44:00 "Why should a company care about its stock price?" Yeah, you're following the right line here. A company can do what's called a capital raise, where it can take reserved shares (held by the company), or magically create new shares out of its ass, and sell them on the stock market.
This can dilute existing shareholders (as it adds additional supply of shares, thereby lowering the stock price), but obv. the company adds the sale of these shares to its cash balance.

Q: why do corporations care when their share price goes down?
A: Corps are owned by shareholders that carry the stock for ROI (appreciation of stock value or dividends) These shareholders periodically elect the CEO and the Board of Directors. If ROI goes down, the major shareholders will replace the Board and CEO. With share prices low enough, corp raiders start eyeballing companies for hostile take over (buy cheap shares, replace the board, gut the company).
Isn't the answer to NL's stock question that once someone or a group owns 50% or more of the company, they own the entire company? So if you have a board of directors that wanted to oust the CEO, they could combine their shares together and do so, making it imperative to the CEO to keep them happy?

@@xXGeth270Xx if you want an attractor or Diplicator with 6 evolves you kind of can.
4 Optional evolves with respective trinkets, then the two bird evolves combines into one 5th slot, this means you have a single trinket slot completely free.
So you can have a strong early even with 6 evolves, it just means you have to plan miles a head and pray to RNG, because you have to pick up a trinket before the birds evolves for your 'future' weapon when the 6th slot gets unlocked by your birds evolving.
In example
Garlic + Pul
Whip + Hallow heart
Fire Wand + Spinach
King Bible + Spellbinder
Ebony Pon + Normal Pon - Evolve these as fast as you can; They become '1' item. This means you have another weapon slot.
Magic Wand - Empty Tome.
And finally your free trinket slot that can be anything, Attractor, Duplicator, etc.
If you turn around at the right time, you can have all your whips attack the same direction

Stocks- some companies treat their stock like an internal currency, yes, Ceo pay and retirement accounts, and employees who are compensated with stock inventiveness retirement plans because they would rather give out stock then pay people. But, you are aware, the stock price can be manipulated and attacked on the open market and if I was running a company that was getting ladder attacked and naked shorted I would be pissed. NL, you can already play on the Switch using your Xbox or PlayStation controller. There's a USB receiver called Switch Up by Collective Minds and it's pretty sick. It feels like I'm cheating just by playing on a controller that isn't, well, you know.
It will naturally accept the PS4 signal, but you have to get a separate dongle for an Xbox controller to temporarily plug into the Switch Up so it can understand the Xbox's controller signal. Idk why it's that way, it just is.

NL, I was using Poe. I had garlic, magic wand, whip, peachone, ebony wings, and santa water. For buffs, i had heart, tome, candle, spinach, armour, and bracers. i maxed peachone and ebony wings, got a chest, and then peachone and ebony wings combined into vandalier, which opened up another weapon slot. i was able to max vandalier to lvl 8. i've used peachone and ebony wings before, but wasn't able to upgrade them for any character other than poe. im curious if anyone has seen unique wpn affects for other characters. i've seen bone offered for antonio, and have only seen it as mort's starting ability.
Vandalier's pretty new, I think, I don't think it's character-exclusive.

To answer nl’s question about the why companies want their stock prices to rise is about who employees the CEO. The ceo is employed by board of directors who all own a big stake in the company. So if the board of directors sees that ceo is keeping the price of a share down or not as high as they would like they have to right to fire the ceo. So it is in ceo’s best interest that the stakeholders are satisfy by a high stock price or high dividends as the stakeholders wealth rises immensely with the rise of a stock or high dividends. All of that being said basically the ceo can get fired if he doesn’t keep the share price high over a period of time.

I agree with your opinion about not picking the same thing every run. I believe that because the game has such a limited selection it’s kind of impossible not to take the same thing. They need to add more to this game before people realize how small the differential really is in between runs.

On the matter of eating things cold. I'm a recent convert to eating leftover lo mein cold. Cold noods just hit different.
get the pigeon and the ebony wings to max level and then if you are lucky get the vandalizier from chest. You get the best dps weapon and extra slot for another weapon.
