Holocure, Idol Showdown, and many more games built by the community, for free. Its crazy how much dedication the community has to creating content for the girls and other Holofans.
Mazumaro's bad ending and crash landing studio series, are also incredibly good animations.

I don't know like 95% of the characters or references in this game, but still is like the best vampire survivor type game out there imo.
Yes you don't need to know to enjoy, I will give you an exemple. When the Resident Evil movie came out many people didn't know this movie came from a video game and it became a huge success for years and even after years of people watch a good portion still didn't knew its origins. =)
This game imo it's the first free game very well made and we know it won't ever be monetized due to Cover restriction (Cover is the company behind Hololive and Holostars), so expect a bunch of updates for a few years for free in this game =)

I believe "vampire survivor like" to be a lil offensive to all the other games and devs of them before that one.

Tbh, i found THE best survivor game (for me & next to brotato) some time before Vampire survivor.
It is a mobile game, which may sound unbelievable to be better to some.
But i like every single idea regarding the game ever since and often dreamt about an adaptation (anime or tv- /vod series) of it.
The name is (!) "Magic Survivor" (!) and the changes they made after the boom are very nice, so it's still very good!
Only leveling up classes has a different kind of grind to it, now. Because P2W is a thing for that now. It isn't actual p2w, i know. But i could get that classes to max level like a thousand times faster with a lil investment.
This game is actually really cool, entirely made by a fan/fans of hololive.

Note that this game is completely free. People wanted to donate, but dev refused donations, wanted the game to be purely a passion project without any hint of monetary benefit.
Game is amazing, I'd say better than Vampire survivors. Only comment is that it's somewhat easy, though there is an item roll that makes the game harder, and you can limit powerups.
The easiness of the game is so the girls of any skill can enjoy the normal stages and challenge themselves on FF14 boss mechanics the dev adds to hard stages. It is a perfect blend of having playable but optional challenge.
The hard stages later on are actually, well, hard lol. Obviously the first few stages aren't going to be the most difficult. Although, even in the first stages you can die if you're not paying attention.
The difficulty complaint is just flat out wrong, specially in this new update
@@yomu6285 It's kinda as hard as you want it to be. Like there are all the debuffs you can add on in the shop if you think it is too easy. You don't have to buy the upgrades as well so the complaints about that is really weird.
I don't think they would be allowed to make money off the game in any way without Cover Corp's permission and they'd likely want a cut of it, so it's better off free. It just means updates might be slower.
@@DexLuther The main reason is the dev wants to keep it his hobby, not another work project. Cover has been in contact with him and offered deals about monetizing it. The dev also works with Cover Corp on many other projects.
It's actually impressive how vampire survivors and all of its clones are such a great representation of how inspiration in both mechanics and gameplay loops can evolve into games that feel the same, yet different simultaneously. A plain copy is boring, but a copy with a twist can make you appreciate both the original and the copy at the same time equally.
Like doom vs duke nukem or quake vs unreal. Same but different and both great.

True, non-Holofans will just not get the reference to things but as a game it still fun. Tons of characters and items to unlock, and now Holohouse update make it has even more things to do.

I only personally followed Calliope, Ina, Kiara, Gura and Amelia, the other Hololive talents I don't know at all (besides Korone) but this game is honestly such top quality that it's like the best free game on steam imho

In a way, it's endearing. It gives you that feeling of wanting him to eventually understand all the references in the game. Not a single element in this game is not full of lore.

@@sixbases6793 They're both in Mythic Talent. Which isn't really the only agency Asmon's part of and is an interesting case in general. But they're definitely both in it. Mind you a lot of vtubers are in Mythic Talent so it's not really anything special.
It was the increased damage from the face mask and the decreased HP max from the energy drink that turned him into glass at the end there. A debuff that makes you take 30% extra damage stacked on top of a debuff that decreases your max HP by 20% while fighting enemies you are under-leveled for is a huge kick in the nuts.
Yeah, he went full glass cannon there. His damage was actually really good thanks to those two items, but you're not _meant_ to break through those wall enemies, you're supposed to navigate around them. He also didn't have access to the Kusogaki Shackles yet, which offsets the negative effects of these high-risk/high-reward items.
I think the slow effect from the rice balls also kinda screwed him, since those walls are supposed to be straight so you can strafe up and down through them, but because some were slowed while others weren't, they ended up staggered, closing the gaps in the following wall formation that you're intended to squeeze through.

@@Merilirem i tried okayu when she was first released with uber sheep, full meal, and limiter. It made her turns into a healing monster. And also with idol dress she would devour everyone with her ult.
@@MeriliremShe's pretty simple tho, she gives constant healing from food drops and a huge ATK, SPD, and Crit buff as long as she's eating any food, which she should be cuz her skills drop more food. She's a good all-rounder that can be either glass cannon or tank.

Kay Yu really deserves all the support for sticking to this game, and all the future content that will come out as well
I am so glad you put this video up because I had no idea about this. I downloaded it and got owned at lvl 64 but boy oh boy what a treat. I can see spending a lot of time in this game. Just fun and fucking free. Love it.

How does this game have such BANGERS, that second stage theme is amazing.
Because they are remixes of Hololive original songs, they make some bangers.
It's not a stretch to say Hololive is just as associated with music as it is with VTubing.
As others have said, the BGMs are all remixes of the Hololive talents' original songs.
Hololive Production the group is technically an Idol group (I say technically because they mostly stream, and their behaviours are usually "not very idol" like, which has spawned several jokes about it).
I also said 'Hololive Production' because it's there's actually HoloLive (which is all girls) and HoloStars (all boys), which both fall under the umbrella of Hololive Production, which is owned by the company COVER.
Suspect and Candy Go Round are great, I'm also really glad they added ID:Entity with the Indonesian talents getting included.
@Gakusangi let's not forget Myth or Treat on the hard Halloween stage. I still can't believe that Amelia pooled fan creators to make the video and that Calli came up with the song's lyrics in one night after downing half a bottle of vodka.

This game started as a silly little fan project directly inspired by Vampire Survivors, and eventually grew in size and scope so much that Vampire Survivors started taking cues from it. Been a treat to see as someone who's been playing since jump street (the initial release on Itchio was over a year ago).
Actually surreal watching Asmon play holocure lol, fully expected him to just meme on it the whole time.

HoloCure really strikes differently. Not only is it free, but it's one of the only developers I have seen that fully polished everything that got added instead of just adding a ton of stuff that is 10-20% done. Not saying everyone and everything anyone added in games was only 10-20% done, but especially in early releases this was common. Here, you can feel the heart that is put into the game and the dev earns nothing from it monetary wise. Huge respect to Kay.

This game is exiting the hololive fandom. I know someone who doesn't know a damn thing about hololive, but he still enjoys the game. For him, it isn't a game with a lot of references, it is a game with 38 different playable characters and fun gameplay.
I put it on my niece and nephews PCs for them just cause its free and that much fun. As soon as they got the controls figured out they were hooked.

That item was the core of most builds that allow them to survive endless mode.
@@CandyBoinz IRyS was nerfed 4 times in pre-development, and yet she's still one of the tankiest characters in the game as of currently. Also despite the current 0.6 rework to stamps she's still one of the best coin farmers.

Better version of vampire survivor, seems to go the extra mile on features and the music is actually remixed from official hololive songs. Genuinely a fun game so I’m glad asmongold played it
I mean if you read the vampire lore that jim sterling wrote; the witches that you kill in that game are supposed to represent people that are against trans rights.. that's why I prefer this one, no dumb western political shit, just wholesomeness!

I played this when it was still in early stages with just holo myth characters. Was genuinely fun and still looks fun now. Completely free btw.

This game impressed me from it's first release version that my friend sent me, I couldn't believe the quality of this fan game made by only 2 people.
It's artist/programmer Kay Yu is extremely talented, I can't believe he did so much work for free from what I understand

Hell yeah. I played this because I played Vampire Survivors (because of Asmon and Nate) and because it was free. I was having a really fun time. I'd say even more fun even though Vampire Survivors is designed better in general.
Anyway after the 0.6 update I instantly bought all new characters (up to G21), upgrades and skins and now I'm working on maxing their fandom again. Didn't finish a lot of em because I just started recently

It's weirdly wholesome that like 10 seconds into playing the game, he got super into it. Just shows how good of an idea VS's type of gameplay loop really is.
Even having been down the Hololive hole for a couple years now, I'm still always amazed at just how talented the fan community is. From all the clip animators to the game creators. Usually when you hear "fan game" you kinda shrug it off, but Holocure, that fighting game, and the two Tsugu no Hi games are all legit good stuff.
And yes, it still weirds me out when someone crosses the streams and I see something like Asmon playing a Hololive game, lol.
There's even Hololive Idol Showdown Tournament now if I'm not mistaken. Pro-Gamers doing batshit insane moves in fan games that few actually understands how insane the moves are.

I like how it takes vampire survivors, puts in 3x the content, is still only version 0.6 and will always be free of charge.
HoloCure is an incredible fangame, Kay Yu is an absolute legend.
It has the most insane endgame of any Survivors game I've played, and the character and stage design are crazy, crazy good.
And fishing is like crack.
I really underestimated the fishing, used a friend's pc when we were hanging out, ended up still playing it even when my friends told me it's time to go.
I love how he completely forgets about aiming after he got the collab

Weird. He saw the regular anvil, and then the golden anvil. He used the gold anvil to combine. But didn't think the regular anvil is different for most of the run
Also not only is this only a fraction of this free game, he also recently added the Holo House with fishing, farming, and house decorating for the more casual crowd
About time you made it to the best survivors-like game out there.

Not the first time though, I remember seeing those compilations of Asmon reacting to videos from years ago, where sometimes Hololive vtubers would sneak in (Fubuki and Korone iirc).
Asmon would react with pure disgust to those, oh how times have changed.

I played Vampire Survivor, and found out about this game a few months back. I personally think that this game is a lot better than Vampire Survivor. And it's also free.
I loved VS so much and spammed it in so many places for hololive to play. To see a game made for them and getting all these lore and updates made real time is part of the true love I will always have for hololive.
