Karthikeya is hands down one of the most knowledgeable humble person and i like how patient he is with all those shumi’s jokess😂 Also i do use to regularly listen this episodes on Spotify it was very convenient, it would be great if motorinc again resumes to upload such fantastic episodes on them! Very well!
Shumi always says he is not interested to drive a car and is happy with bikes, But at 22:39 he clears it that he is a car enthusiast by making the smallest pun on Mahindra bolero, It clicked and I related to his humor when he said "Did i just say that", Shumi is smart, fun and serious on the topics he talks about.
If there were ever a Nobel Prize for being critical & sarcastic about Indian auto manufacturers, Shumi would definitely be the first recipient.. Man, you're just bluntly honest!! I absolutely love listening to these two discuss everything you need to know about cars, bikes, & Indian driving conditions..
This is the only 1-hour-ish show I watch across platforms & subjects (time is premium - for others) - I guess it's 'the class'. Just keep going comrades!!
You two are hands down the best motor journalists in India. Among all the noise online, you’re the only ones I actually want to watch. Your reviews perfectly balance being informative and entertaining, with just the right mix of humor and honesty. Please keep it up! What I appreciate most is how you never shy away from the facts. In this video, the part about DNA and borrowing from history really speaks volumes-especially how you highlighted the strong hold of that history, preventing progress from moving forward freely. It reminded me of Royal Enfield-the years of mediocre production and now finally seeing them evolve feels great. I do have one question and I’m sure the fanboys might come for me, but here goes-why don’t they offer a higher, more expensive variant with four-wheel disc brakes? Why stick with drum brakes? Is it purely to keep costs down or is the braking power sufficient as it is?
Pre-booked the MX1, got a message today that I can expect allotment around mid-May 2026. That's not a typo. 17 months waiting turning into yearning or disgust is anyone's call.
Informative video. How do I put honestly? 🤔 Just a curiosity. Why Motor Inc doesn't discuss luxury cars and two wheelers? Like the Audi, BMW and above. I guess the most expensive car discussed is Safari? And the Aprilia 457(If I'm not wrong) Not a criticism. I'm totally happy with your contents (that's the only reason for the membership) But just wanted to understand your perspective on why luxury automobiles were not discussed in the Channel
Buying and Living with luxury vehicles is a whole new perspective. We did make content on Audi and Volvo. We intent to address luxury vehicles in time.
I wanted to buy the cheapest variant of the 3 door thar with the 4x4 version. The dealer said this Variant isn't manufactured by Mahindra anymore since it has been discontinued (It exists on the Mahindra website and also the pricing sheet that the showroom has. I saw it there on the list. But the sales person keeps insisting that it has discontinued. ) So either Mahindra forgot to take it off the website(less likely) Or It is a Variant for purely 1 reason which is to get you to the showroom not something they want to sell. (This is more likely) I decided to not bother with this confusion and politics. And got the jimny. Which has 2 variants. Only 2 sensible variants. And almost zero headache
Heart wants to believe that the ultimate Indian lifestyle vehicle has now finally upgraded and modernised itself to a level where it can be used as a family vehicle / the 1st vehicle in the garrage. Mind knows it's yet not a practical/ only car garrage option. 💔 Mind also ponders towards thinking what on earth would stop MnM to create a lifestyle vehicle + a super comfy and non rigid chasis (like the ones in the 7 double o😋) how difficult is it for an international conglomerate to upgrade the thar to a level where it ticks all major boxes . A heart broken 3 door thar owner who finally sold of his thar out frustration and (the obvious n number of modifications and attempts to make the beast highway friendly😂💔) This car is a perfect (cool neighbour's) car. You look at it u admire it u aspire to an extent but then u write a cheque for the 700 and drive away😅😅

Nice discussion My points: Good engineering product Good marketing Bad interior designers - choice of material, colour, Bad interior space management- No 1 Litre bottle holders Driver and co-passenger foot areas are too less, cramped, they should have worked on reducing the width of mid section running all the way from touch screen Bad USER INTERFACE management both screens, lack of planning Front wind shield should have adjustment levers like old jeeps to make it more Aerodynamic, something could have been done Seats colour, design is the biggest issue, very ill planning, deal breaker for me Rear seats should have sliding option too to free up more leg room Reat seats can be captain seats format also to make it really long distance comfortable
I have never seen Kartik so excited in any of the podcasts, never! And I am super happy seeing the glow in his face, just wonder whether the reason is the car or the name :P Honest and Roxxing podcast.
Excellent video guys…just wanted to share our experience in respect of thar…i and my wife are absolutely bonkers about thar when it was launched! So when it was launched we test rode…loved it…booked it! But life as they say is what happens to you when you are busy planning other things…my wife got pregnant and realising the impracticality of putting in a child seat and working it in 2 door thar…with heavy heart we booked taigun (which we own and love to date by the way) anyways…i still remember wishing that time that if only 5 door thar was available! Fast forward now…its there! And my wife is egging me for a test drive! And I am stalling it as I fear I would love it too much and we can’t afford another car! 🥴
As always, enjoyed this session. I can already see why the Duster 4x4 will fit my requirement of a one car garage. Still retaining my 2013 one for the same. Simple, Reliable, Efficient, Potent. Yes, the interiors are a sore sight but not a deal breaker.
I drove both petrol automatic AX7L and Diesel manual AX7L in two different dealerships… I’m just sharing my views… 1. Petrol automatic is really fun to drive car - mileage is definitely a concern… if money is not a criteria it’s the best… Drive in city and highway is super cool… 2. Diesel has that power you need in any situation… engine noise is very less.. Pros: Good suspension Visibility Feature loaded Value for money Comfort in rear seat is excellent Road presence (Definitely a head turner ❤) Braking Ambience inside the car Easy to drive (both manual and automatic) Luggage space At this price point personally I don’t prefer creta and seltos for 25 lakhs which has low safety… Excellent build quality Good engine definitely… Cons: Small bottle holders Mileage in city (to prefer diesel manual if mileage is a concern) Ingress and outgress for aged family members (once you’re in it’s very comfortable) Overall - no car is 100% perfect… Select according to your priority… This is a perfect car for someone who’s bored looking at creta for many years on the road… now a days every apartment has more cretas than any other cars… Definitely an everyday car if you are used to it… else go for other cars.. These are my honest observations.. ❤

Having driven Isuzu D-Max V-Cross for over 70k in the last 3 years - Thar Roxx is driving beautifully. Also having gotten used to that driving position, that feel - sitting in Creta, and for that matter even the Tucson which I test drove recently - makes me feel uncomfortable. As for driving position, keep in mind all your bodies are different. For me there was enough space in the driver's seat for me to be comfortable - I am 6'2in. The lesson for me is these reviews let me learn 80% about a car. The last 20% is up to you. Go and test drive the car! There is no other way.
Hi guys Love your work and really appreciate what you guys are doing! I just got a new Thar Roxx, and i got it in MX5 2wd variant. I'm a farmer, and live at a farm. I have a Force Gurkha bs3 as well, and its been exceptionally rare that ive put in the 4 wheel drive. Infact, i would say its only ever been a deliberate choice to put the car in such a position where the 4wd has been needed. I have a river crossing in the middle of my farm ( if you guys so wish, you're most welcome to come bike around) and yup, ive witnessed Lord Altos crossing when its fordable. So how many people really need the added complexity and additional failure points of a 4wd transfer case when they would most likely never have any use for it? Especially at a 1.5 lakh premium? And at a longer wheelbase? The biggest threat to offroading where i am is getting beached! I think the 4wd will be all very very niche real life use cases or purchasing with a mistaken regard vis a vis real world need.
What a lovely detailed video man, so happy for mahindra, well, between Creta and this, we will go for this as we love the jeep look and we can do a 15% adjustment and live with thar roxxx..shumi's t shirt is nice, shumi's beard styling is g8, karthi always good and in top form! Anand mahibdra should watch this for 1. Whatever hour....great job guys, ❤
Here's indeed a bold and intriguing thought! The idea of Tata and Mahindra, two of India’s most iconic automotive brands, entering into a strategic partnership similar to Suzuki and Toyota would be a game-changer for the Indian automobile landscape. Both companies have established themselves in their respective domains, with Tata making strong strides in road-focused vehicles and Mahindra excelling in the SUV segment. A collaboration could potentially lead to a powerful synergy that combines their individual expertise and resources. Imagine Tata sharing its prowess in passenger cars, EV technology, and affordable innovation, while Mahindra contributes its SUV leadership, off-road expertise, and premium vehicle technologies. Such a partnership could allow each brand to double down on their strengths, create a well-diversified portfolio, and offer an unmatched range of vehicles to consumers. This could also mean reduced development costs, more rapid product launches, and shared technological advancements. If this were to happen, the combined entity would not only dominate the Indian market but also pose a significant challenge to global players. Their complementary product lines could capture an even larger share of both urban and adventure-focused consumers. Moreover, with the global push towards EVs and sustainable mobility, this hypothetical partnership could become a technological powerhouse capable of leading the charge for India’s automotive future. However, beyond the technical and product synergies, such an alliance would hinge on trust, similar to the Suzuki-Toyota relationship, which is not just about profits but a shared vision. Mahindra and Tata would have to navigate potential competition between their brands, manage corporate cultures, and ensure the partnership benefits both without eroding their individual brand identities. But if they can pull it off, this would be one of the most fascinating collaborations in the automotive industry, possibly propelling Indian carmakers to new heights on the global stage. It’s a crazy idea, but sometimes it’s these audacious visions that spark innovation!
The analogy of the kid and engineers, that started with the name, lasted almost till the end and every time it was so perfect.😂..jhakaas tha..!! Wishing Mahindra a whole lot of success.

Just came back from a test ride. Drove Roxx and Scorpion N back to back. The ride quality on Scorpio is like driving on a buttery smooth planet after the jumpy bumpy ride of Thar.
@@motorinc 100% and the scorpion N I was driving was around a year old and not as well maintained being Mahindra showroom. Thar ride is bumpy especially over deep potholes and fiber based speed breakers. Scorpion glides over the same surface with ease and especially at lower speeds the ride is much more comfortable.
Well, finally the review is fully completed with @MotorInc. Yeah, everything is discussed but, didn't touched it's core part, the off-road capability. Could you people please share a video or shorts about the off-road capability and experience on both 4x4 and 4x2, well why 4x2 I'm asking here is they're not ready to give 4x4 in their petrol engines 👀, thankyou in advance.

@@motorinc sir, please give feedback to Mr Velusamy sir to stop giving white interiors in their cars. I just hate white interior. It's damn difficult to maintain. I have XUV 300 2 years old. I am struggling to maintain it.
Eagerly waiting for the Scorpion N update with all the chassis and suspension improvements to be a viable replacement for our aging Xylo which we bought at launch. The Scorpio N currently feels very dated on the interior front to us. Going to test out thar roxx soon to check if it can be a stable mate to our lovely Škoda Yeti 4x4 which still cannot be matched till date.
We did . We mentioned it has almost the same approach, departure angles. And the ramp break over is lower because of the longer wheelbase. What kind of usage do you have in mind? We’ll look in when we get it back for longer.
Hello Kartikeya, I had taken a test drive of Thar ROXX few days back and it was quite good to drive. I found quite a few ergonomic issues which stopped me from proceeding further. In particular, I found the front seat quite uncomfortable. It had less under thigh support. And both legs were hitting something on either side. On left side, it is on some projection from the dashboard and on right side the control panel on the door. I didn't find this getting mentioned by you. Or did you also notice this.?
@MotorInc , One suggestion as a designer - Please use sentence case (instead of all upper case) for the on-screen text. Especially for text heavy chunks, it reads a lot easier on the eye. :)
Waiting for this for soooooo long, from the day of launch 🎉 Question: 1) Second car to i20 or Carens/Innova? 2) Can the sound deafening windscreen from MX3 Manual be added later to MX1 Manual later, cauz the diff in price is 2lac+ with suspension, brakes, traction, steering, tyre, safety remaining same?
Just nailed it. You guys give the most detailed review in terms of practicality, tech and performance in such a smooth way that it makes feel to just keep on listening. Awesome 👍👍
Going by the length of the video, it is not surprising that this is the most detailed review. It is extremely useful but the icing for me were the puns and the jokes.
Great video, and when Kartik says its a good car, I'm feeling safe to spend about 20 Lakh on the dream car I've always wanted but didn't get as I owe some comfort to family, but now I can with this more practical version of it, thanks for the extensive review

Also i do use to regularly listen this episodes on Spotify it was very convenient, it would be great if motorinc again resumes to upload such fantastic episodes on them!
Very well!
I love my family very much, but for this 1 hour I want them not to disturb me, please ( hope this comment stays here only )
Hahahah Rajnish!
@@motorinc 😁
Shumi always says he is not interested to drive a car and is happy with bikes, But at 22:39 he clears it that he is a car enthusiast by making the smallest pun on Mahindra bolero, It clicked and I related to his humor when he said "Did i just say that", Shumi is smart, fun and serious on the topics he talks about.
🔥
If there were ever a Nobel Prize for being critical & sarcastic about Indian auto manufacturers, Shumi would definitely be the first recipient.. Man, you're just bluntly honest!!
I absolutely love listening to these two discuss everything you need to know about cars, bikes, & Indian driving conditions..

Kartikeya's pronunciation of पुणे is spot on 😅
Is it so rare that you felt the need to appreciate?
People can't pronounce Pune correctly?
@@alburaq3290 Yes.
Thank you @abhilashmahamuni1540
Thanks OMT! Much appreciated! Drum brakes = cost, always.
Great insights and honest input for any viewer. Good video team!
Thank you for joining us @sninads!
Pre-booked the MX1, got a message today that I can expect allotment around mid-May 2026. That's not a typo. 17 months waiting turning into yearning or disgust is anyone's call.
Oof! That's a long wait @karthikmouli.
Informative video.
How do I put honestly?
🤔
Just a curiosity. Why Motor Inc doesn't discuss luxury cars and two wheelers?
Like the Audi, BMW and above. I guess the most expensive car discussed is Safari? And the Aprilia 457(If I'm not wrong)
Not a criticism. I'm totally happy with your contents (that's the only reason for the membership)
But just wanted to understand your perspective on why luxury automobiles were not discussed in the Channel
Buying and Living with luxury vehicles is a whole new perspective. We did make content on Audi and Volvo. We intent to address luxury vehicles in time.
Everyone else do luxury vehicles and ignore normal vehicles ...
Roxx, they just missed one from making it an official pimp car 😎
I am just waiting for when they start adding all the bling ✨️
I wanted to buy the cheapest variant of the 3 door thar with the 4x4 version.
The dealer said this Variant isn't manufactured by Mahindra anymore since it has been discontinued
(It exists on the Mahindra website and also the pricing sheet that the showroom has. I saw it there on the list. But the sales person keeps insisting that it has discontinued. )
So either Mahindra forgot to take it off the website(less likely)
Or
It is a Variant for purely 1 reason which is to get you to the showroom not something they want to sell. (This is more likely)
I decided to not bother with this confusion and politics. And got the jimny. Which has 2 variants. Only 2 sensible variants. And almost zero headache
Thanks for sharing @sahilhakani5220, so what'd you end up doing?
Sensible decision. Much cheaper and reliable and equally capable if not more.
So if you had to choose between thar roxx and scorpio n fr a long term which one would you choose?
Heart wants to believe that the ultimate Indian lifestyle vehicle has now finally upgraded and modernised itself to a level where it can be used as a family vehicle / the 1st vehicle in the garrage.
Mind knows it's yet not a practical/ only car garrage option. 💔
Mind also ponders towards thinking what on earth would stop MnM to create a lifestyle vehicle + a super comfy and non rigid chasis (like the ones in the 7 double o😋) how difficult is it for an international conglomerate to upgrade the thar to a level where it ticks all major boxes .
A heart broken 3 door thar owner who finally sold of his thar out frustration and (the obvious n number of modifications and attempts to make the beast highway friendly😂💔)
This car is a perfect (cool neighbour's) car. You look at it u admire it u aspire to an extent but then u write a cheque for the 700 and drive away😅😅
Ouch! We feel the pain. So, you are suggesting a monocoque style frame for a Thar kind of vehicle?
Can it be done
Monocoque for Thar kind of vehicle

Let the jokes begin! Another one to savour, I'm sure. Will wait to watch this.

Hello folks! Recent Full Access Subscriber here. This is my first ever RUclips paid channel subscription, and I find it absolutely worth it.
A small query tho, for some reason I'm not able to play the member's only/first videos when I turn the screen off and want to here it in background.
Is it something that can be changed from your end? I already have background play enabled and other channel videos are able to be played properly.
Cheers!
Can't wait to finish this one🎉
Hi @BipinKumarSahu, unfortunately this is a RUclips limitation that we are unable to do anything about. Some people have said that updating your app to the latest version, if available, helps so please see if that's doable for you.
Yeah. Can't do anything about it for some reason. These videos won't play in the background.
@@motorinc background play works for public videos and content. Disconnect and early access subscribers only content doesn’t background play. Such is life. Would be nice if you guys can manage podcasts
You can also try using the RUclips Web
I think you need a RUclips premium membership for background play. It's true for regular videos, not sure about members only videos.

Hello! What plans now SoW?
How does Shumi breaks up with his girlfriend?
3..2..1... Disconnect!
I hope you dont find it offensive.
No! 😆
Nice discussion
My points:
Good engineering product
Good marketing
Bad interior designers - choice of material, colour,
Bad interior space management- No 1 Litre bottle holders
Driver and co-passenger foot areas are too less, cramped, they should have worked on reducing the width of mid section running all the way from touch screen
Bad USER INTERFACE management both screens, lack of planning
Front wind shield should have adjustment levers like old jeeps to make it more Aerodynamic, something could have been done
Seats colour, design is the biggest issue, very ill planning, deal breaker for me
Rear seats should have sliding option too to free up more leg room
Reat seats can be captain seats format also to make it really long distance comfortable
Thanks for sharing @manishpandey6287, which variant did you drive?
I have never seen Kartik so excited in any of the podcasts, never!
And I am super happy seeing the glow in his face, just wonder whether the reason is the car or the name :P
Honest and Roxxing podcast.
Thanks for joining us @Shreyantito
I drove both petrol automatic AX7L and Diesel manual AX7L in two different dealerships…
I’m just sharing my views…
1. Petrol automatic is really fun to drive car - mileage is definitely a concern… if money is not a criteria it’s the best… Drive in city and highway is super cool…
2. Diesel has that power you need in any situation… engine noise is very less..
Pros:
Good suspension
Visibility
Feature loaded
Value for money
Comfort in rear seat is excellent
Road presence (Definitely a head turner ❤)
Braking
Ambience inside the car
Easy to drive (both manual and automatic)
Luggage space
At this price point personally I don’t prefer creta and seltos for 25 lakhs which has low safety…
Excellent build quality
Good engine definitely…
Cons:
Small bottle holders
Mileage in city (to prefer diesel manual if mileage is a concern)
Ingress and outgress for aged family members (once you’re in it’s very comfortable)
Overall - no car is 100% perfect…
Select according to your priority…
This is a perfect car for someone who’s bored looking at creta for many years on the road… now a days every apartment has more cretas than any other cars…
Definitely an everyday car if you are used to it… else go for other cars..
These are my honest observations.. ❤
Thanks for sharing your review!
Regarding the creta ubiquity, its true unless you live in Chandigarh
I see more black Thars here than Altos really

Would you say jimny is on par with the roxx on comfort? Would it serve as a better second car as compared to roxx?
Sir don't mind but jimny is bot the second car.
It is just off roader Maruti did everything to tell that it is car but it os not but you will love it if you go where no one goes with her.
I just wanna say you guys are so freaking cool man, I wish I could have found you guys earlier.

Hi guys
Love your work and really appreciate what you guys are doing!

Finally the review I've been waiting for, just started, but very happy it came.....
Thanks for waiting!
Just came back from a test ride. Drove Roxx and Scorpion N back to back. The ride quality on Scorpio is like driving on a buttery smooth planet after the jumpy bumpy ride of Thar.
Hello! So you found the ride of the scorpio N better than Roxx?
They bring this platform and engineering to Scorpio N facelift.
And they are working on new platform for 3.8 meters to 4.3 meters SUVs. So next gen 3XO, 5XO are underway.
When they launch 7X0 facelift also, AMAZING work mahindra
Lots to look forward to!

Yeti 4x4 😍😍
Review of a Thar variant without a single word about it's off roading abilities!
We did . We mentioned it has almost the same approach, departure angles. And the ramp break over is lower because of the longer wheelbase. What kind of usage do you have in mind? We’ll look in when we get it back for longer.
Great discussion as usual… superb summary by shumi..! 🎉 u guys Roxx!
Thank you for joining us @omkarmit
Hello Kartikeya,
I had taken a test drive of Thar ROXX few days back and it was quite good to drive.
Well explained..thank you so much. Still which car you pick for yourself in creta/ seltos vs thar Roxx? Plz reply
Hi KG, as the main car for the family - Seltos/Creta would be more practical.
@@motorinc thank you

Please use sentence case (instead of all upper case) for the on-screen text. Especially for text heavy chunks, it reads a lot easier on the eye. :)
Thanks for the suggestion @atinbose6933
Feedback noted! Will pass this is on the team, Atin. Thanks!
Finally I hear some genuine comments, thanks guys. Also could you suggest which option would be preferred as a family car
Grand Vitara/Hyryder, Creta, Seltos.
Definitely try the Creta CVT.
Waiting for this for soooooo long, from the day of launch 🎉
Question:
1) Second car to i20 or Carens/Innova?
2) Can the sound deafening windscreen from MX3 Manual be added later to MX1 Manual later, cauz the diff in price is 2lac+ with suspension, brakes, traction, steering, tyre, safety remaining same?
Heya BK, 1) could definitely be a good second. Please test drive and let us know your thoughts. 2) yes that should be doable. Great idea 😁
