One of the most important things that I have learned from SHUMI is "The moment you take that Bike/Car out of the showroom, You forget what it costs" So if you are getting that colour or feature that u love for some extra bucks go for it guys, u will regret later for not having it than spending extra on it So relevant and true ❤

I wanna share my own experience here! When I had booked my NTorq, which was the first vehicle of my life, & when the day of delivery came, I was literally so nervous that my hands were shivering & I was sweating like anything!😅😅 The showroom manager was like, no need to worry sir, we are here to help you out so no need to get nervous, just relax & have a sip of chilled water & he handed me a glass of chilled water after which my nervousness had reduced! Since then, the whole showroom staff are so friendly & get my vehicle serviced in time. That showroom is VVK TVS, outer ring road, Mariyappanapalya, Bengaluru! 😊😊

This podcast is literally the best solution for many people’s problems. Being in an automobile field for more than 7 years now, it has so much of knowledge to grasp. This podcast can calm a person, who is screaming in a showroom for his scratched bumper than a showroom guy 😂😂😂
Looks like Shumi is the most excited person on the day of delivery. He wants no BS, just a tank full of gas and vroom. Good content guys. Over the time I realised that I should have been more calm on the D day but I was too excited and skipped to do a PDI myself. My father owns a 2006 Alto LX that has clocked over 1 lakh kilometers. He has maintained it so impeccably that every driver or mechanic who takes it for a spin reacts with admiration, saying they’ve never seen a car this old in such great condition. However, he doesn’t drive it much anymore, so whenever I visit home, my primary responsibility is to drive it and check if it needs any attention or servicing. 😂
I love these podcasts..Conversation is an art..Anand Ranganathan's is one of the best conversations I ve come across on youtube especially the way he adresses to his disagreement..without showing contempt especially when you have time available to put across your point of view..
I'm getting my first bike FZ V3 delivered this Sunday and i was searching for a video related to new bike delivery and I saw your video.... I'm just thankful to you guys...that was really helpful.
I recently booked a motorycle and will be taking the delivery of the same in a couple of days. The timing of this vlog for me is bang on! Absolutely love the content you guys have been putting out, especially on the ThisConnect series. 😊
Hey guys, Good episode, this reminds me of my delivery experience when I picked up my RE Continental GT 535 back in 2017. I did do the basic checks but it turned out that the battery died within 10 months and the company didn’t replace it and asked me to buy a new one because they said that the battery serial number was incorrect 🤷🏻♂️ and didn’t match the bike (apparently someone replaced it before PDI). I eventually bought a new one without much discussion as I needed my bike back but it was something that I’m be careful about in future ✌🏽
I’m gonna take the delivery of my Virtus GT next week, thanks a lot for clearing out a lot of doubts I had, all the while keeping it entertaining! You guys never disappoint, cheers!
This is why Thisconnect is so darn amazing. The content motorinc has is so helpful and relatable. The only problem is the more i watch motorinc, the more i wanna buy another machine. Sadly no space in the garage, no money in the bank. But nevertheless we will keep watching and keep hustling for that JUST ONE MORE BIKE. ❤❤
This is really helpful for first time buyers. Dealers in big cities are generally great when it comes to the buying experience. The problem arises when we go to dealerships in small cities. Most defective vehicles are sold in such dealerships but the number of defective vehicles is very small. I think minimally updated vehicles like the NS 200, RS 200, Alto 800, Bullet 350 should be discussed in a future podcast, their relevance in the modern day and why they still sell in 2023 should be discussed. Belated Holi wishes to the entire team! ❤️
I can connect to your discussion and let it pour into my riding and knowledgehub so quickly,I am really getting tons of learning as I move forward with your videos.Thank You.
I was seeing this video before my car’s delivery and surprised when Kartikeya named the same one I booked 😂😂 @ 30:18 . Now my purchase is even more exciting.
I have watched this video and taken notes. Thank you so much for doing this. I am getting a classic 350 tomorrow and this video just calmed me down so much. I will tell you more how it goes soon. God bless you and your team. All your videos are so truthful and direct.
I'm in the market for a new car, our first one, and I've been thinking about how to handle all the drama, religious symbols and stuff too. I am irreligious as well, and when I envisioned my car delivery experience, it was exactly like Shumi described his, down to not having to go to the petrol pump. It's a great idea to make a list of Dos and Don'ts and deliver it beforehand to the dealership and I will be definitely following that, will try to update how it works out.
Very informative, listened multiple times, points have been noted down on a notepad(as a hack to be used on that day). Now looking forward to a "Run-In Advance" podcast as promised in this episode. Hope to see soon. Thanks.
Thank you both for this video. I'm going to pick-up my first car, Baleno from the dealer in a couple of hours and I saved this video to re-watch it today.
Emotional difference point, owner & dealer, fantastic 👍 great discussion. Topic suggestion - what annoys you most or deal breaker in new car Bike/Car. For me if test drive vehicle steering or handle is not aligned or rattles from a new vehicle or abstract thing like - steering feel in my hand etc.
Great podcast!!! The one thing I missed or would want in another podcast is Initial bike/car care after taking the delivery. Like revving it or not, maintain certain level of fuel or speed or things like that. Cheers💯
The best advice I've ever gotten on a RUclips channel, Thank you. Seriously I'll definitely ask the dealer to fill the fuel tank full from this day because what happened last time was I went with my friend fir delivery of their first car which was Hyundai venue , everything was great untill they went to the petrol pump and forgot to tell the guy to put petrol in it and he had already put in 3 litres of diesel in the tank. That was such a mood killer for the whole family cause they were waiting at home for the cars arrival and we were contacting the dealer get it fixed which they did graciously in a neat manner. We were late by 3 hours but the experience was a bit scary because it was their first car and it had to go through an entire tank cleaning proces in day one.
The only thing I would counter is the petrol filling. This is my outlook, mostly because I've just been involved in 1 delivery (friends bike), but there is just something with filling your first tank of gas and riding off. Nothing useful just purely emotion and experience oriented. Keen for all that happening when I have a chance to purchase my first own.
I'm not so sure about motorcycles but for cars you can do PDI before you pay full amount ie. before it goes to registration so if there are any mejor issues you can find out upfront and relax on the delivery day, make sure to note chasis number at the time of PDI and on registration document. Great podcast guys very tiny nits and bits discussed. Keep it up..❤
I’m so like schumi on taking bike deliveries, KTM Gurgaon made sure that there was no drama, they just handed over the keys and a box of sweets and I was good to go
Loved it! I also prefer hassle-free direct delivery. No fuss on pictures & celebrations. Please do more elaborate talk on break in, modifications, maintenance topics related where we take care of the vehicle and maintain it.... The whole experience or stories you've got to tell
I had a very bad experience in getting my first motorcycle. So it all started when I first went to see the bike. It was a Royal Enfield hunter 350. Seeing the bike up front I just knew that this is THE bike I need to get, I was like determined to get the interceptor but then it didn’t make sense to get such a heavy, expensive and powerful bike. The dealer was like pressurising us to make the full payment but we only did it in like instalments. The day was coming up and I couldn’t hold my eagerness to see my own bike. So we went to the dealer again and saw the bike. After that we returned home with a big smile on my face. But here’s where the problem begins,on the delivery day we had asked the guy one day earlier to keep everything ready by 10 in the morning, he gladly agreed and said he will do so. We even waited from the day of booking for 2 weeks or so for all the legal things to be ready, but during the delivery day the bike was just wiped not washed properly, no proper delivery celebration and all those stuff, at around 10:15 another guy comes and then tells that the guy who was handling us can’t make it because of the prep work for the bullet launch. They just opened the shutter, gave us the document and keys and we just got out from there because of anger and the fact that we had lost patience.
Yaar I tried asked enfield guys to give me a full tank of gas and they refused. Even after I said I'll pay for it they were like we aren't allowed to do so.
I'm getting ready to take delivery of my first car Tata Punch. This video was great with all the right stuff. Rightly said - it's an emotional purchase ❤
One more podcast idea: Fitting aftermarket accessories/mods to motorcycles/cars. There is a lot of interest but also a lot of mis-selling in this category. This was covered in a small portion during the dream bike/car podcasts, but a full-on podcast about the following would help: 1. Mods and accessories for cars and bikes. A huge market has opened up for it. 2. A lot of misinformation about the supposed performance increase one can get if they mod their bike or car. 3. What are the niggles and side-effects one should be ready for if they're fitting these mods/kits etc.
Thinking to buy a Honda city 5th gen face lift VX and it’s giving me headache all day as it’s going to be my first car . Your podcasts are giving me a hope of light . Thanks for making this kind of content ❤
When I bought my first vehicle the Jupiter, I was very young, all visits until delivery were done only by me, but at the time of delivery I went with my father to the showroom. When taking the delivery my father asked me what accessories you got with the scooter , I said, nothing apart from the panel guards around the scooter. So my immediately went to the owners cabin talked with her, and came back with shiney blue helmet and told me that they have given discount of Rs. 3000 and this helmet for free. I couldn't believe it, I felt very very special that day.
What an excellent channel for grown ups..! Logic, level headed and grounding..I probably said the same thing in 3 different words😅..Watching from Cape Town.
Well, this is weird. I was writing a PM to Shumi just now about his advice regarding Pre Delivery Inspection and all. My bike is getting delivered in a few days, and thanks a lot for releasing this video now and not a week later.
I'd just booked a Brezza Zxi+ and Karthik's review of the car at Zigwheels brought me to this channel. You guys are giving such great value content to a newbie car buyer like me through this channel. Coming to this video, Its such a joy to sit back and absorb your insights as i'm preparing for my impending car delivery day ☺. Thankyou so much Shumi & Karthikeya
my biggest takeaway would be the solution oriented approach with the dealers. normally the first instinct is "dealers want to cheat on me and make extra bucks, i'll fight them to death..." i've learned so much, my head is buzzing.
Holy whack, this popped up at just the right moment! Have booked a car, and I'm yet to pay the bill and get it delivered.... Loved the conversation guys!
Thanks for bringing up this topic and the advice. Of late and especially with social media around it seems like a lot of people just start venting on social media without using the manufacturer/dealer's escalation matrix. Or the same can be said on the "pesky" feedback calls we love to ignore. If you deal with Maruti that feedback of 7-8 with reasons will set your phone ringing in hours. But the point is the solution should start from the floor of the workshop, raised up the ladder if not resolved and most likely it will be sorted out at the manager's level. If not then the option to complain to the manufacturer is always there. Not saying exceptions don't exist but the SOP should be used first. Ten minutes post taking delivery of our new car, it got rear ended by a biker at a red light. That combines both the fretting about minor scratches and not driving without registration plates advices into one incident 😂
@@motorinc Just to be clear I was driving with registration plates, although for someone who didn't have it and had a major hit it would've been an expense out of the pocket. Thankfully it just involved some scratches on the bumper. The rear guard which I was against but my father insisted on, took the impact with minor scratches on the bumper from the bike's front tyre. The scratches didn't warrant a repaint and were left as is. The rear guard was straightened a few days later. We didn't fret over it and my father proved his point about the rear guard.
Getting the hunter 350 soon...so this is just the best help i could get....hope to catch the running in convo happens before i get mine lol ...much love to you guys
Super cool format guys, we have come off age right from the days of magazines to social media & RUclips..I would love you guys to discuss more about what happens on the inside, the unfathomables basically just like run-in for cars& bikes too many opinions but no conclusive established practice, then warranty terms & conditions (why don't we know if warranty will be honoured or not uptill the point one needs to claim), then engine oils (to go with experience or manufacturer recommendations). Could you also cover stuff on what to keep in mind on servicing day..
Nowadays companies take extra care in shipping of the products. I recently visited a RE showroom for a test rode, I noticed an Interceptor perfectly wrapped in high quality material. Its exhausts were bubble wrapped, entire body wrapped in packing paper. They mentioned it was shipped to Mumbai from Chennai facility. It is a good response from brands in maintaining that premium delivery experience.
Nowadays , Very few RUclips videos are there, where you sit down take a pen and paper out and note down things, ThisConnect has been one of those, Interesting enough not just as entertainment but knowledge, keep up the good work

So informative! Glad to discover your channel. Great job from the editing team and the two journalists.
I am now incredibly curious about Shumi’s legendary KTM. Would love to see this bike that he loves this much and see what all has been done to it.
He has documented it heavily on his instagram.
Me too...
Go to his Instagram! (@ shu_mar)
Yaar I tried asked enfield guys to give me a full tank of gas and they refused. Even after I said I'll pay for it they were like we aren't allowed to do so.
I can don my ANC headphones and listen to these conversations all day. Don't need any motive.
Thanks a ton! We'll pass your compliments on to the team!
I'm getting ready to take delivery of my first car Tata Punch. This video was great with all the right stuff. Rightly said - it's an emotional purchase ❤
Congratulations!! 👏🏼
Fantastic timing. Just as I am about to pick up Slavia next week.
Awesome! Let us know how it goes!
Shumi exactly echoed my style of taking delivery of a vehicle !!!
thank you for having this podcast, so much knowledge flows out from all those kms driven/riding :)
And once again! You're welcome!
I was insisting my friend for PDI, now I will send him this video, my work is sorted!
Let us know how it goes!
Just wanted to meet my favourite automotive journalist shumi sir , at least once in my life 💝
One more podcast idea: Fitting aftermarket accessories/mods to motorcycles/cars.
There is a lot of interest but also a lot of mis-selling in this category. This was covered in a small portion during the dream bike/car podcasts, but a full-on podcast about the following would help:
1. Mods and accessories for cars and bikes. A huge market has opened up for it.
2. A lot of misinformation about the supposed performance increase one can get if they mod their bike or car.
3. What are the niggles and side-effects one should be ready for if they're fitting these mods/kits etc.
Noted! Serving soon! 😆
Love this podcast. learnt more than I thought from these conversations from people who know and experience.
🤜🤛
Thinking to buy a Honda city 5th gen face lift VX and it’s giving me headache all day as it’s going to be my first car . Your podcasts are giving me a hope of light . Thanks for making this kind of content ❤

I am going to get my classic 350 delivered by april so great timing guys !
Wish you and safe rides!
Oh wow! That’s thoughtful and sweet!
pre-booked the new himalayan and making notes of things to-do/not-to-do already. thank YOU for the rich conversation :)
Best of luck Ankur! We hope you get your delivery soon!
What an excellent channel for grown ups..! Logic, level headed and grounding..I probably said the same thing in 3 different words😅..Watching from Cape Town.
Glad to have you with us! And, thank you!
Well, this is weird. I was writing a PM to Shumi just now about his advice regarding Pre Delivery Inspection and all.
My bike is getting delivered in a few days, and thanks a lot for releasing this video now and not a week later.
He reads minds!
Thanks Akshaya! We hope you get your delivery soon!
I wonder how everything in this video is so so neat. The talk, the voice, the studio, the colours. How do you do it?
Superb podcast.... knowledgeable.... always excited for podcast to release. Clear, clear and transparent . ❤️
Thanks for listening! 🤙🏽
my biggest takeaway would be the solution oriented approach with the dealers. normally the first instinct is "dealers want to cheat on me and make extra bucks, i'll fight them to death..."
i've learned so much, my head is buzzing.
Super! Give them a chance!
The topic that everyone worries about. Priceless discussion.
Thank you!
Holy whack, this popped up at just the right moment! Have booked a car, and I'm yet to pay the bill and get it delivered.... Loved the conversation guys!
Best of luck! We hope you have a smashing day!
Man all these videos are so much fun 😇 what an absolute way to have fun
Glad you enjoy it!
Ouch!! That’s a totally glum scenario. How did you deal with it?
@@motorinc
Just to be clear I was driving with registration plates, although for someone who didn't have it and had a major hit it would've been an expense out of the pocket.
Thankfully it just involved some scratches on the bumper. The rear guard which I was against but my father insisted on, took the impact with minor scratches on the bumper from the bike's front tyre. The scratches didn't warrant a repaint and were left as is. The rear guard was straightened a few days later.
We didn't fret over it and my father proved his point about the rear guard.
loving these chats, such genuine and actionable advice. Keep these coming guys.
Getting the hunter 350 soon...so this is just the best help i could get....hope to catch the running in convo happens before i get mine lol ...much love to you guys
I have finally booked N Torq XP. Let's see what learnings I can use while takeing delivery at Dussehra
Loved the conversation! Kudos to the team!
the car and the bike diecast on the table look so freaking sick! Adorable! love it!
Right?!
Can do! Thank you! Hows Sundance Kid? Seen him around lately? 😆
We believe that's how it was always done for premium products @PR_6891! No? 🤔
Very insightful podcast 👏.
Really like the format. Wish all the best to you guys.
Thank you Neeraj!
Going to take delivery of the new baleno, This video is what i wanted.
