    This is exactly the sort of 'interview' I love. Two intelligent people having a free flowing discussion without trying to outdo the other. No gotcha moments or raised voices just a reasonable exchange of views but remaining substantive. Both have fascinating anecdotes, often humorous, revealing absurdities of life and the judiciary in particular. It is quite shameful that Mark's own programme has been shelved because it seemed to me he highlighted very important issues which are not discussed impartially by other outlets. For example he discussed the mass migration catastrophe, Islamist terrorism and freedom of speech from my perspective which the BBC, CNN, ABC nor any major news network covers except by pursuing their own multiculturalist narrative. Keep up the great work Mr Black and Mr Steyn. Great respect to both of you.

    Mark is an amazing man and so true to his principles. I happen to agree with all he says, but even if I didn't, I would still have the height of respect for the fact that he os fighting for a good cause, not his rightness of his statements, but his right to state it. I wish we had more like him walking around.

    I will not be renewing my CRTV subscription after learning his show was cancelled. Steyn is an amazing talent in addition to his special gift of wit coupled with conservative commentary. I was surprised to find him on CRTV and stunned to see him go. I'm questioning Levin's judgement and see failure in the future of his disjointed network. I would love to see Mark compete with Levin at the 1800 time slot.He is the best talk show host and deserves better.

    used to look at his white pantera in his driveway
    he died in that car driving back to buffalo after a game with toronto or montreal

    My politics differ from Steyn and Black's but I always will listen because sometimes an opposing point of view makes a great case even though you may disagree with them on many other issues.

    So enjoy listening to Conrad Black and Mark Steyn in conversation. Somehow I missed Bill Clinton's blocking air traffic while he had his hair cut. Didn't miss his blocking air traffic while he discussed "golf and grand kids" with Loretta Lynch.

    I also notice the oddity of Americans referring to their poobahs by their titles. It reminds me of the royal family, who refer to each other as "the Duke of Edinburgh", the "Prince of Wales", "the Queen", etc. If Prince Charles has a mother, you'd never know it to hear him talk!

    An enormous pleasure to listen to two great minds. I admire both immensely, however, for some obscure reason, Black has a blind spot whenever he mentions FDR. He considers Roosevelt an excellent president for ending the Great Depression and for war time leadership. Actually, the depression lasted longer in the US because of Roosevelt. FDR recognized the Soviet Union's communist government before other major leaders. There is credible evidence that he allowed the attack on Pearl Harbor to happen to hasten America's entrance into WWII, not because he wanted to save Democracy, but because he wanted to help his buddy, Uncle Joe Stalin. FDR's administration was riddled with communists as the Venona Project proved. More sinner than saint.

    Around 1:00 Mr. Black implies that Tim Horton played for the Montreal Canadiens. He didn’t. He played for the Toronto M. Leafs and ended his career with the Buffalo Sabres. His last game played was in MF Gardens, The Sabres against the Leafs and he died in a car crash driving back to Buffalo NY after the game.....he didn’t play well that night. I’ve forgotten who won the game. It was either 1969-70 or the next season.

    • @sonnybowman
      @sonnybowman 4 года назад

      The discussion at this time line was referring to Quebec. Conrad was noting that Tim played in Montreal not that he played for them.

    I love Conrad Black's belief in the viability of America's future; however his optimism with regard to the containment of Islam is perhaps sadly unwarranted. At this moment France is probably beyond recall. a
