    • @Trazynn
      @Trazynn 10 месяцев назад +3

      It's unnatural for vertebrates to have six limbs (4 legs and 2 wings), so our primitive minds don't accept that monster as real. The wyvern look feels more grounded and fits the world Peter Jackson already established.

      @@00Kuja00 Eragon, Dragonheart and How to Train Your Dragon have six-limbed dragons. But that's about it. Reign of Fire, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter have four-limbed dragon, and these look far more grounded.
      Tolkien probably envisioned a six-limbed dragon as that's the mythical depiction of them. But then again, he might have envisioned a more fantastical version of Lord of the Rings than Peter Jackson did.

    Elves are immortal kind sirs, meaning they will not die of old age, though they can be killed. Legolas, who we see in this movie as well as Lord of the Rings, was 2850 yeard old in this movie. Elrond was approximately 6500 years old, and Galadriel, who was born in the Uttermost West, was 9000. Gandalf, who was not an elf but a servant of the creators of Middle Earth, was 24,000 years old.

    And that is what makes me watch that and enjoy it: These people ... are still in awe. Where we in the west, being used to all the "movie magic" - can no longer be enchanted by it it seems. All we see is the flaws, the "weak cgi", "bad writing" "plot holes" (and most often, all those criticism is just parroting garbage reviews on the internet wanting clicks...)
    The Hobbit -movies are among the greatest fantasy movies of all time. And all we do is compare them to LotR, find the flaws (true or imagined ones), instead of just going for the journey and leave our garbage existence for 3 hours. We have become so jaded in regards to cinema, to series. When I remember the silly outrage about Game of Thrones...and the absolute nonsensical bad reviews about "Rings of Power" ... sorry, we have so much great stuff to watch, but we decide to be miserable about it all.
    Be like these three - go for the ride, enjoy, have fun, allow a movie to grip you and take you away - and stop going online to find the opinon some talentless idiot like "Critical Drinker" and all that ilk tries to sell to you...

      @@ireneemerson5828 sure, good choice. there's so many good vampire movies. Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) and Queen of the Damned (2002) are also very good. There's even been a series of Interview with the Vampire (2022) and it's one of the best series I've seen in a long time.

    For thousands of years mankind has been fascinated by the problem of how to kill a dragon. The legend of St. George and the Dragon is the most famous myth and exists in many versions, also versions that are much older than itself. It contains everything humans find interesting. A giant predator that threatens their vulnerable tribe, and a hero who finds the solution through bravery and ingenuity. There's a deep human need to slay a metaphorical dragon.

    I wonder how many dwarves it would take to kill Smaug in combat if his chest was not missing a scale? 10,000....20,000? ....50,000??
    Their weapons, almost useless, would be like poking a large Human with a sewing needle. It would take thousands of pokes.

    Elves in Lord of the Rings live forever they dont age they are bound to middle earth. If they are killed then they go to the halls of Mandos to reincarnate later on
    Edit: fun fact all the dragons in middle earth were killed exclusively by men

      Akshually ... not true. As Beleriand was part of Middle Earth ... well, Ancalagon the Black was slain by Earendil who himself was not a human, but Half-Elf to begin with. And as he later chose the fate of Mandos due to his wife Elwing wanting that, so he also belongs to the Elven Race...Nerd Knowledge!

      @@voxdraconia4035 at the time he killed ancalagon he was still mortal and he was still the son of a man but I see what you mean. Im not sure what you’re referencing with beleriand being part of middle earth thats not necessary to elves survival. The best I could see is after the fall of numenor they were connected to valinor which is why they began to fade in the third age
