Love Lucifers sigil on the pickup cover
Yeah, cause that's important when choosing a PU. Then one day you realize, I was young once, "what did I say"...fuck me. This "satanic is cool" shit is old. As for the sound of the PU, I dig it in my Jackson
It's also not Lucifer's seal.
@@Brutalgruve Yea its really not that serious I was commenting on how aesthetically it looked nice. As for a pickup I don"t really give a shit on how it looks first its about the sound and then the look.
@@altpath hence why he said sigil and not seal
Wow this combo is sick i was wondering what a nazgul w/ black winter would sound like its killer.
This is killer. I'm definitely going to order this pickup.
That tone is disgustingly good
thank you so much \m/
Great raunchiness in it. Like it.
I had the custom shop build me a set for my baritone strat. Got a pearly gates/black winter (alnico 2) in the neck and a ‘78/black winter in the bridge, they sound amazing, I think metal players should take a hard look at the half and half humbuckers for two reasons -1 everybody acknowledges the 59-custom hybrid is a sweet pickup. 2 a decent number of players pair a moderate output paf style neck pickup with a high output bridge, so why not get both in one pickup for a thick rich tone? Guarantee any of the high output metal pickups (nazgul, black winter, Pegasus) would all sound good with paf style hybrid (pearly gates, whole lotta humbucker, 59, jazz, even JB I bet).
So what do you think if i did a nazgul/black winter bridge and a sentient/black winter neck is that possible? Is that a hybrid combo?
They won't make hybrids of pickups with different magnet types (like a BW/JB).. They could, but they won't.
Hey! I am considering ordering it too! Can you briefly share how would you compare it to nazgul and bw? Did you achieve the blend between the two as you expected? Thanks!
The bw is all mids, lots more output, the nazgul is a lot more balanced, pairs great with a drive into an amp. This pickup was like giving a nazgul some of the nastiness, extra output and mids from the bw and yeah, I was happy with it when I had it made years ago. Haven't had it for a long time though so it's hard to judge right now, tbh
@@MetalHeadProductions thanks! Did you sell it away? If so, may I know why? And now, today, what would you prefer out of these three? And what did you NOT like about it? Thanks again!
@@KeepAnOpenMind I sold that guitar, don't have it anymore and have made a lot of changes since when I put out this video. This is way old back from when I basically just started, haha, come a long way since these days, I have been considering revisiting this pickup and having another one made though.
Wow, so it seems you really found something in it! I was just afraid you sold the guitar with the pickups or just the pickup because eventually you found it not great to your taste.
@@KeepAnOpenMind still love the bw and nazgul, the bw has been one of my most used pickups over the years, they've lived in one of my main guitars for a long time now. The naz is still killer, absolutely a modern classic, especially for 7 string which it was made for. I'd have to try this custom pickup again though to really compare that with these.
Can you please tell me the order? Nazgul on the bridge and black winter on the neck? Thanks a lot for the video that is a good one. 🤘🎸
Oh I think you've misunderstood, this is a custom bridge pickup that blends a black winter and nazgul.
Evil tone, awesome riffing.
the precision drive fuckin it up ... ppl always remember, what comes for Misha you don't touch it
y tho
shitty sound sold as Keith Merrow worthy or smth just cos bunch of dickheads like Periphery
Yea but like why is it shitty
Hey there, I contacted Seymour Duncan and they will not make these for me because I don't have the exact specs. Could you please message me on exactly what you had them do? Apparently telling them to blend the nazgul and black winter voicing isn't enough information
This is everything on my custom order
Bridge, For What Guitar: 7 String, Magnet Type: Large Ceramic, Output Level: High-Gain, Cover: Metal Matte Black Cover ($15), Wax Potting (Reduces Microphonics/Feedback) : Yes, Hookup Cable: Four Conductor, Pole Pieces: Black Nickel, Logo: No, What is the body and neck wood of the guitar you are putting this in? body is alder and neck is maple, Describe The Tone You Want: I want a blend between the black winter and naz
Hope that helps
We're you able to get this made with those specs provided? I want to order one asap
I love the sound of this setup! I was considering to combine Black winter with Nazgul. My question is Black Winter (Neck) and Nazgul (Bridge)? or the other way around? an answer would be very helpful :D
Nazgul has the sentient bridge, actually, and personally that is one of my favorite neck pickups ever. For sure that one.
I did this video so, so long ago, I would like to have another one of these pickups made and demo it again with my current setup and recording ability.
Is it just the bridge pickup or was ther a neck pickup too?
It was just the bridge
@@MetalHeadProductions thank you
I'm looking to order one of these. I have a Schecter JL7-FR that I lucked into, and want to get a set for my SG. Do you happen to have the specs?
I asked the custom shop for a tone blend between the nazgul and black winter. Ceramic magnets, high output.
Brutal sound!!! which one did you choose for the slug coil & screw coil ??
Was this custom made for you?
witch one you will recommend for Slam Death Metal , Brutal Death Metal style?
probably the black winter because it saturates better
I like it! what tuning where you in? Drop A? How much did it cost ya?
drop A and a little over $200
Did you do the same thing for the neck pickup? Or just the bridge
Just the bridge
What are the specs so I can have this made myself? I've got a single humbucker ESP M-1 I'm wanting to drop something different in.
I asked for a blend of the eq and output of the nazgul and black winter pickups. ceramic magnets, modern voicing, high output.
@@MetalHeadProductions thank you
what was the cost of the custom shop pickup build?
Depends on what you get. Covers and engraving are more, extended range costs more. I can't remember exactly what I paid bit it was like $170ish I think.
you should play Necromancer by Judas Priest with that pickups called the same xdxdxd
How can I get one of these!!!!!
This is a link to the build your own pickup options for the seymour duncan custom shop that I used to get a pickup that is a blend between the nazgul ad black winter
customshop.seymourduncan.com/build-your-own-pickup/
Fatal, no anomenes cap pastilla?????
dude what blend of a pickups did u get for that and whats the output
I asked them to blend the tones of the black winter and the nazgul with the output of the black winter
@@MetalHeadProductions do u have the order form still i would be intrested in something like that
@@rudycastillo6369 no but other people have ordered this. Just hit up Seymour Duncan custom shop about it and say I said it was cool if you order your own.
@@MetalHeadProductions i would be intrested in it for my strictly 7
@@rudycastillo6369 rad, Im sure youd dig it. I swear, I have to get another one of these again and revisit it with my current setup.
Sounds killer!!
Love the name
sounds 'sick' \m/
How did you come up with the name of your pickup, and I want to make a custom pickup mix of the el Diablo and the nazgul and I'm having trouble naming it. I really like your pickup name and was wondering if you had any other names like it
the Nazgul gets it's name from the lord of the rings books, and the necromancer was was Suaron was originally called.
Metal Head Productions awesome, thank you
for sure, man, Im glad you liked it. Im sure your pickup will turn out awesome
sounds similar to my di marzio di activator bridge :-0
must have. where can I buy it?
it was a custom shop blend of the nazgul and black winter. you can have one made from the seymour duncan custom shop. Sadly, I literally just sold mine.
how much did it cost you? it sound amazing
super mean.
Get these to keith merrow
Keith is actually switching to Fishman and voiced a set for a prototype guitar he had built. He will probably have a set come out with them and I will probably buy it.
Metal Head Productions no way i didnt know that, sick tones though
He put them in on his tour with alluvial. I asked a Fishman rep about it last month and they told me he may be working on something. Now that he's having custom voiced ones put into prototypes, its clear he's moving to them
200 bucks for one pickup? Jesus that's a bit too far. Seymour duncan is becoming the Gibson of pickups.
It's a personalized custom hand wound pickup. As far as market value that's spot on for handwound on it's own, just look at bkp. For Seymour Duncan to be like Gibson they would have to have a deep lack in quality control, and keep releasing variations of a jb for increasingly insane prices.
@FungusYoung true, but it's dave's changes and it's a sig. its only a difference of $20 so not that big of a deal
