- This video is your one-stop shop to help you enjoy your day in Capri. This is my last day in the Amalfi Coast and spent it in Capri. I took a ferry from Positano leaving at 9 am and leaving at 4:15 pm back to Positano.
Here's a snippet of my trip:
1. You will arrive in Capri at the dock in Marina Grande. Take the bus (depends on when you visit, a cab to Anacapri (€2 one way)
2. Take the chairlift to Monte Solaro. Great views from up here. I stayed only 30 minutes to take pictures:-). That's all you really need unless you have more time would like to have brunch or lunch at the restaurant up here.
3. Take chairlift back to Anacapri and head to Villa San Michele. Beautiful villa with equally beautiful garden. Don't forget to rub the left haunch of the Egyptian sphynx.
4. Check out the shops along the this street. I found the stores to have reasonable prices. If you have time, enjoy a balsamic vinegar tasting or a limoncello tasting (I did the balsamic vinegar one)
5. Take the bus or taxi down to Capri or have lunch here.
6. Head to Augustus Garden and enjoy the views. You will see the Via Krupp and Faraglioni rocks
10. Enjoy a granita di limone at the lemon stand outside the Augustus garden
11. Shop or window shop the stores along Via Camerelle
12. Enjoy a gelato at Buonocore.
13. Take the Funiculare down to Marina Grande
14. Enjoy the last glimpse of this beautiful island on your way back to Positano.

@@JoyousSerendipity we did all the things you did as well as a 1 hour boat ride around the island. It was crowded at Marina Grande and the Piazza. But not too much at Mount Solaro and the Augustus Gardens. The Granite was so refreshing in the heat 😆

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for my one day visit to Capri. I’m going with a group from Rome to Capri, THEN take a motorboat to the blue grotto, then back to marina grande. The itinerary states we take the funicular right away so I’m hoping we can go backwards from what you did. Because I’d the grotto I don’t think we’ll have time to do the chairlift though🥺

Yay! Thank you. It is so hard to pick between the two. For me Capri was good enough for one day. If you really only need to see some sites in each place and have a meal or two, then I would choose Capri. I feel that Positano is best visited for more than a day:-)
Delightful video! May I ask, how do you know which boat is yours on the return trip? I have tickets already and don't see a dock or boat designation of any kind. You mentioned to pay attention to the dock you are dropped off at, but I wonder if that will remain the same at the end of the day. Thank you!
Hi, yes, I believe it may be so. It probably will depend on which dock is open when they arrive.

I did not go on the Blue Grotto tour but as soon as you get to the dock in Capri there are several boat tours at the end of the walkway towards the Funiculare. You may ask about it there. Long journeys capri island , Naples , Amalfi cost, Rome and surroundings, Florence and Pisa, Milan , Venice and finished at Padua basilica.

Hi there. I went in September. At the time, I didn’t have to but you can do so and I would highly recommend it. At the time I went, the country was still not fully opened at the time. I hope this helps

Thank you. Positano is expensive especially in the peak season in the summer. I stayed up in Montepertusso. Watch my Montepertusso video to see where it is. I stayed in a modest BnB above Positano. As for getting there from Venice, you can take the train to Naples then either a private transfer from there (recommend this way) or take a train to Sorrento then on a bus to Positano. I shared my trip there in two earlier videos. Please feel free to ask and will be happy to help as best as I know. Take care.

Hi Ms Joy, I have a question for your Capri trip. Can we take a funicular from Capri to Sorrento? We are staying at Sorrento? I booked a ferry going to Capri but didn’t book a return yet. Thanks
Thank you for stopping by:-). Unfortunately, there is no funicular between Capri and Sorrento. Since Capri is an island, it may only be accessed by boat/ferry. You can purchase a return ticket upon your arrival in Capri. There are specific times that they travel from Capri so you can check the latest time. When I went, there were only 2 return trips to Positano. I took the earlier one just to make sure I don't miss it as I was leaving the next day. Have fun!!! You will love Capri!
