These are both great countertop nugget ice makers that both produce amazing ice, but is the GE Opal 2.0 really worth the extra $200 over the Gevi V2.0? Both have their advantages and setbacks, but I believe there is a clear winner.

Biggest issue with opal is mold that appears once your uv light dies, and that you have to basically take it apart to actually clean it. How do you clean gavi?

What about maintenance and required cleaning on the Gevi? The Opal is high maintenance and stopped working after 6 months. I'm on my second one.
