Overpriced 2022 Ford Bronco's at my local dealership

  • Here is the Bronco inventory at my local Ford dealership. I know dealers have to make money but do they need to charge this much above MSRP for a Bronco? I think mods should be left to the owner to do. Let me know what you think. The red Wildtrak in this video I think was ordered a long time ago and that's why it has the sasquatch package. Thanks for watching!

    Hi All! I realize dealers have to make money but I would not want a new Bronco with dealer added modifications. Different wheels, tires and lifts should be up to the owner to do. The dealer can always tell the buyer that they can work with them after the sale to modify the Bronco if needed. Am I wrong? Let me know what you think. Thanks for watching, goodbye for now.

      Yeah, I understand what you are saying but I still think my Stock Badlands at $51K was still the best deal I could find. I mean compared to these the Badlands has way more off-road ability even in stock form, tires aren't everything. But clearly, I'm a minority opinion here because paying over MSRP is taboo.

    We have several dealers around here that modify vehicles. In particular, one does a bunch of mustangs. They’ve been doing it a long time and have a good reputation with it. Another one has been taking f50 xl with 5.0 and customizing them. Supercharged, lowered, wheels and tires etc. In my opinion, it’s fine. People need to decide if there is value added. I was looking for a jeep last fall and there were dealers adding $5k for market adjustment and nothing else. Another was adding some glass etching theft crap and some paint protection for $3000. I made an offer below sticker, they didn’t accept, I will never return to their store. That’s how business works. I found a jeep dealer in Antioch. They discounted their jeep. I bought it. Finance guy tried to sell me some theft thing for 300 bucks, said it went on every vehicle and was already included. I refused to pay for it. They took it off. If they hadn’t, I would have walked out. Car and home purchases are a negotiable. People are over paying for homes too. It’s supply and demand. Move to Russia if you don’t like it.

    • @CarStory
      @CarStory  2 года назад

      I agree, it’s up to people to decide if the modifications are worth the price. I don’t like what dealers are doing but I won’t be moving to Russia anytime soon. No need to, America is becoming more communist every year.

    Ordered mine in dec, got here in August, dealer said sorry about it but we have to market adjust your order, pay up or it’s ours. Said no, they marked up 20k. Stole our order basically. Don’t deal with any Autonation - they suck

    • @CarStory

      I have heard of the same thing happening to others on the Bronco6g forum. That is completely unacceptable and dealers get aways with it all the time! The car belongs to the dealer until they sell it so they get to do what they want with it and Ford corporate doesn't care. Very unfair!

    • @3BLADZ
      @3BLADZ 2 года назад +2

      I’d be contacting Ford. If you placed a retail order with a negotiated price and they refused to sell it to you, that’s wrong. The retail order would have your name associated with it. Ford has been cracking down on dealers who place retail orders under someone’s name ( a copy of a drivers license is required) and then they sell it to someone else. Mavericks and lightnings have been a problem too. I had an order in for an f150. Ford had $3000 price increase before it arrived. A shady dealer could easily show that to a customer and say they need to pay up. In reality the vehicle is price protected from the day you placed the order and the dealer simply turns in paperwork to prove that. If you back out, they can sell it for what ever they want.

      @@CarStory The Bronco’s are on auctions all over the place too. Ford dealer here has a rivian at $11000. It’s a $75000 vehicle. I see them for $125k online. So if you want the bronco I guess you’ll need to find a dealer that doesn’t want to mark it up. Otherwise people will just come buy them up and resell them as used just like the rivian.

    Nobody should be buying these modified Broncos! These dealerships are misleading people because potential buyers don’t realize the difference between the Sasquatch package and the custom package the dealers are installing. One of the biggest differences comes down to the shock suspension and the transmission gearing. Big difference!

  • @Obxhatman

    One of the most basic principles in capitalism , when you sell a product , the market bears the price. If you had plenty of people willing to pay 200 k for the bronco the first 6 months. Then dealers would be selling at 200k. MSRP goes out the window when you have very low supply and extremely high demand. That is just the way it is in the real world. Jeeps have very high resale value , as will this bronco. Think of it this way with the mods. You can literally spend days , if not weeks on you tube watching people throw 20 to 60 k in mods on Brand NEW broncos. I do not think the dealer is doing it without knowing its going to sell.

    Hey there, yup some of my local Ford dealerships are doing the same thing!! But to pre-owned ones. And the prices are just the SAME AS YOU BUY A LOADED ONE. At this rate: the bronco are marked up higher than a Corvette C8 !!!! No joke!! Corvette here in Phoenix metro are average around $10k markup now at some dealerships. Of course the Jeep Wrangler 392 is a more rare proposition 😏 off road vehicles has become a big trend these days over sports cars in my opinion lol. You could make a shit load of $$$ on ur bronco if you SOLD IT !!!

      Hi Mike! Wow, so your dealers are doing this too?! This is disappointing, I'd rather they leave the upgrades to the new owner. I heard they stopped taking orders for the 2023 Bronco but dealers will still get some. I could sell my Bronco but would want a lot for it and would miss it once it's gone!

    When my friends ask about my Bronc, I always tell them: "It is a great vehicle, and the MSRP is reasonable. Do not pay more than MSRP". Few people paid above sticker price before the coof came along. They should not go above sticker today.
