You've echoed my thoughts on brand loyalty! Spot on!

    • @gotseethisone
      @gotseethisone 4 года назад +2

Many people come out for or against my reviews / comments on these devices. I figure that since I own a Note 10 and many others before and also an Iphone 11 pro and many iPhones before that; I am qualified in my own little way to review these devices in the way I deem fit. I am not loyal to any brand. As much as possible I will even stay away from brand exposing shirts. I don't see why I have to pay to advertise for these companies.
A certain German car marque advertises that you have arrived when you own their cars. I say, "when I have arrived, I may choose their car. Therefore, they have to feel honored that I have chosen them".
I think it is good that you are bringing the idea of brand loyalty to a correct viewpoint.
Hope to expand more of this with you.

Can you not buy phones sim free in the States? I'm in the UK and always buy SIM free and then get a cheap SIM free contract that you can cancel with 30 days notice. I bought a Samsung A70 which I got for £240 (about $297) and my sim only contact is £10 a month (about $12) I get unlimited calls and texts with 12gb 4g data. No carrier software at all but even if you buy under monthly contract I've never known any phone to have carrier software installed. Sounds like carriers in the US have way too much power.

I'm moving to Apple when the iPhone 12 is released for 3 reasons:
    1. As a Samsung user in the UK, I'm tired of getting ripped off with their Exynos chips.
    2. Updates are a pain with Android and always have been, particularly Samsung.
    3. The depreciation of Android phones, especially flagships, is laughable.

I have the Note 10+ and several Apple phones, including the 11 Pro Max, which is my daily driver. They are both great operating systems for different reasons and I enjoy both. But I've chosen to make the Pro Max my daily driver precisely because, as you so aptly pointed out, most of the features on the Note 10+ I rarely if ever use and everything I do use daily and rely upon, including long battery life, my Pro Max excels at. And that's all that matters to me. Keep up the excellent work!

This upload only applies to America. Lot's of Samsung stores here in the UK and throughout Europe.
Android phones don't come loaded with carrier software here either and we have access to much better value Android phones than you do in the US unless you import.
Outside of America iMessage is irrelevant for instance. An iPhone costs between £800 and over £1000 - that's well over $1000 where as you get a great Android for the equivalent $200 that will do everything 99% of users need.

Updates are the primary reason I left Android as well, after almost 10 years with it. I miss a lot of things, but as an example of the disparity between Android and iOS, my Pixel 1 got its final updates last October; my wife's iPhone 5S never got iOS 13, but it was still getting security updates as recently as March 2020. That's 6.5 years of updates. So far. Discovering that certain apps are head and shoulders better was a wonderful surprise (it's not just Instagram that's better on iOS: I use MS Teams for work and the differences are like night and day).
One day I might go back. We'll see.
Glad to find another techie who isn't tribal about it. =)

“It just works!” No truer statement can be made about Apple and their products! This is why i stay with them. My 2016 iPhone 7 Plus still works great. It’s still receiving updates to this day. Its very smooth and runs nice and fast. Yes it can’t compare with the 11 Pro, but my point is it works as well today as it did the day out of the box. Apple makes high quality products that last. So yes i’ll pay more for an iPhone then “some” Android phones because i know it will last me minimum 5 years and then i can hand it down to my kids and they can use it for another few years. I love how i can start something on my iPhone and it will sync automatically with my iPad Pro or Mac. It just works. Like Travis mentioned, this is why the SE2020 is such a fantastic deal. Yes, its the old Home Button style, but for someone like my kid or my mother its absolutely perfect for them. I know its reliable, i know it will be receiving updates for the next 5 years and it takes advantage of Apple’s superior ecosystem if they need it.

Travis, you sure do change your mind quickly. I just finished watching two of your videos. The first one was from 2019 in which you gave reasons to switch from iPhone to Samsung s10.
In it you gushed about the ability to customize and about how unbeatable Samsung pay is. You said it was great because you could use it anywhere there's a card reader. Said you had been using it for four years and loved it.
Immediately after watching that video I hear you saying in this one that customizing is overrated and that you're more interested in having a fixed system that works well. Then you said there wasn't much use in Samsung pay because you rarely used it and didn't want to go through the hassle of convincing cashiers that it would work. Thanks a lot for the advice.

PTK my statement was that it’s the slowest form of storage. That is correct. How is that baseless? if your spending lots of money on fast micro storage, you’re definitely eliminating the benefit. Most people buy the cheapest form of sd card. For $100, you can upgrade your internal storage. And micro sd still has the issue of data security (anyone can remove the card), and data loss (again, I’ve had many cards fuck up, in fact one made my Samsung s8 stop working)

I took it to Samsung and they said sorry it’s an international version we can’t do anything. I can take my iPhone to Apple Antarctica and they will replace it. I used the note 9 for about 8 months and it was great. One of the speakers stopped working so I took it under warranty to the Samsung store. They took it to send for repair and gave me no replacement phone to use in the meantime. Apple fix it on the spot or give you a new one. Apples customer service is FAR superior to any other manufacturer

Nope...never switching to an iPhone unless Siri matures into something less aggravating. The things I like about iPhone is that not everything needs a app. Some thing's are built in already like screen record and other things instead of having to download a app for that. I do miss my Note customization though. In reality there's not much difference between iPhone and Android. I was expecting a huge difference but it's not that different. I do miss the back button tho. Apple updates are great even my iPhone 7 gets the newest updates. After 2 years Samsung stops supporting the phone. With an iphone the 80 percent of the things you use it for work seamlessly. Pick up your ipad and open chrome when you are outside of wifi and the ipad wants to connect to your phone hotspot. Easy. I have a ton of Samsung shops and even a Sony shop around my area lol. I think the delayed updates to manufacturers can’t be helped since almost everyone have their own skin like One UI that they need to work on before releasing the update. However, I absolutely agree that all these phone manufacturers need to increase that pathetic 2 year update cycle for OS. Imagine paying $1000 for anything else and it not getting supported just 2 years after? That would cause a riot.

I moved to iPhone three months ago because of the short inconsistent Android updates , my original 2016 Pixel had the last security update October 2019. So it is important also to consider back up service if you intend to keep your phone for more than 2 years.

Are you and I the same person? 😂 I moved from Android last year to after being on Android since 2010. I originally got myself a iPhone XS Max 256GB Space Gray but that’s got stolen early this year and was replaced with a iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB Midnight Green , and I have been loving this ecosystem.
I have always owned iPads since 2012 iPad 4 and currently have an aging iPad Air 2 that will be replaced with the iPad Pro 11 inch soon.
I also joined the Apple Watch gang last year with a Series 3 Nike Edition
I have to say this ecosystem works so damn well it’s disgustingly good, I cannot believe this level of integration between devices exists.
I always say to my friends: Android phones are like do it tools. They pack everything in for the sake of it and it’s great but Apple devices are like speciality tools and they are simply brilliant at exactly what they need to do, the iPad is a BRILLIANT tablet with well optimized apps and hardware , the iPhone is a brilliant smartphone with optimized apps and hardware, the Apple Watch is a brilliant Smart Wearable with optimized apps and hardware, each of these is purpose built and does what it’s built for damn well.
It is 22:34 now I had a WhatsApp video call with friends for 2 hours, played music in the car when going to and from the shops, been browsing Social media and the web most of the day to, used UberEats to get food, watched a few RUclips videos etc... yet here I sit at 45% battery, incredible. Loving this 11 Pro Max.

I bought my note 4 new and used it until last month when it finally died...I was also able to swap batteries with 0 wasted time for charging. But now I I purchased an 18month old phone because it still has a headphone Jack. Wireless is great but I like redundancy in my every day tools. Great video T🤙

I agree with you brother I have a note 10+ and a iPhone 11 pro max and I always find myself using the iPhone more just because of the battery and the simplicity also it does everything I need all the time but I note is also great

While I do think Samsung pay is the best, there's a lot of stores that now have NFC terminals. Outside Of Home Depot every where I use Google Pay (which means they take Apple pay as well) even some of the smaller businesses. As much as I don't care for iOS because of the layout and how they handle notifications I'm getting tired of updating phones after a couple of years because the updates start to slow down and I literally only use my current Android device for photos, media consumption, social media and calls. IPhones nail all of that with better battery. If that 6.1 iPhone 12 has an OLED screen or they bring 120hz to the next Pro, I'm switching.

I just made a recent video on my channel about Samsung and their card coming out. Apple has their ecosystem laid out and their rewards are great if you're buying apple products. Well worth it for those who use it for that.

    ¿Por qué no los dos?
I agree with every point you made. It's just that the Galaxy Note 9 remains my favorite Android ever and don't want to let it go. And iPhones are rather expensive.
2020 comes along and now I'm rocking both the Note 9 and iPhone SE 2020. Best of both worlds for me.

Great video man! Very truthful! You spoke the words in my thoughts! Lifelong Android user here, and just finished paying off my Note 8 (also had a Pixel 2XL). Did my research and visited a couple of stores that were open to get a feel of the phones I was considering (Note 10, Pixel 4XL). Samsung pretty much just added reverse charging and an extra camera (Note 8 vs Note 10). The Pixel was the more enticing option esp they were offering 300 off at the Google Store (promo ended yesterday). Went to one of my carrier's stores two days ago to hold the Pixel 4XL one more time before I finalized my purchase. Walked out with the iPhone 11 Pro Max for most the same reasons you mentioned here and in some of your other videos. The iPhone is simple and familiar, and lacking in some of the functionality that Android has, but it excels in the areas that matter to me - camera, battery, immediate updates, screen, and build quality. I stayed away from iPhones because I've always felt like they held back on a lot of things, but for some weird reason, I felt that the flagship Android phones are doing all the compromises now. And yes, Samsung has been the innovator for Android for a long time now. I have been hoping that the Pixels would somehow catch up or take over this aspect of the phone wars, but sadly hasn't been the case. They would always lack in something - display, battery, functionality, features - vs phones coming from Samsung, etc.

I was a Day 1 Android user. I used both an Android & a iPhone 5 for about a year or 2 before going back to a single Note and a S6 which I had issues with both. Finally went back to Apple on the 7+ and haven't left. Thing that finally got me was the updates on Android being trash, the built in spam unable to be removed on the Android. Memory leak issues from apps and glitches after year 1 sent me to Apple I haven't looked back since.

Bought the 7T Pro after owning a XS Max, and I'll get the 12 Pro Max. You have very good points here, I'm actually very tilted by the updates, I can't stand being on a three months old security patch on a brand new phone.

I'm a long time both-IOS and Android user, never understood the hater/fan thing. I had some of the worst droid phones ever made and I had iphones that I hated or I felt a waste of money (iPhone 6S to iPhone 7) . Even now, I have a Note 9 and an iphone XR and my sim card keeps switching itself between the 2, depending on my mood. It's the Note 9, when I want max bright screen outside (the XR sucks in direct sunlight) , at the same time I want the XR with all my previously collected stuff for the past 12 years. My favorite feature with iOS has to be how its backup/restore works. Down to the last detalis of where my apps were positioned or what pages were open in Safari, restoring or switching to a new iphone is stupid easy. It saves everything. Meanwhile if I switch with Android, my messages are missing, apps are all over, call history is missing, - I know I know, I have to use a different app. But again, that's why it's valid to say, that whatever Apple does is getting the basics done really well, while the Android wants to dazzle me with all kinds of toys an gimmicks. But again, my 2 most favorite phones ever since smartphones existed : iPhone 5S and Pixel 3a. Best camera ever (for me) : Huawei Mate 30Pro. My longest used iPhone : iPhone 6S. Phone I found most useful on a daily basis: Pixel 3a. Best phone for the money : iPhone XR.

respect man, ur too real still. im an android user and it disgusts me when other android users talk smack about iOS when they clearly cant see dat theres pros n cons to both OS and its rlly a matter of what u value
