    • @gotseethisone
      @gotseethisone 4 года назад +2

Many people come out for or against my reviews / comments on these devices. I figure that since I own a Note 10 and many others before and also an Iphone 11 pro and many iPhones before that; I am qualified in my own little way to review these devices in the way I deem fit. I am not loyal to any brand. As much as possible I will even stay away from brand exposing shirts. I don't see why I have to pay to advertise for these companies.
A certain German car marque advertises that you have arrived when you own their cars. I say, "when I have arrived, I may choose their car. Therefore, they have to feel honored that I have chosen them".
I think it is good that you are bringing the idea of brand loyalty to a correct viewpoint.
Hope to expand more of this with you.

While I can appreciate the support and simplicity of ios, I could never see myself switching due to the amount of limitations and smaller touches that android(Samsung specifically) nails down. Things like Samsung pay, getting a call that doesn't take up your entire screen and disrupts what you're doing, PIP for RUclips, Twitch, etc., notification icons, an actual universal "back" command, customizability and so much more!
I could never leave all that and to me, it's worth the trade off because I upgrade every 2-3 years anyway so OS updates aren't a big deal for me.

Leaving Airdrop, iMessages, iCloud Match, Apple Watch, using a remote on your phone or your watch for the Apple TV, integration with Macs and iPads, FaceTime, etc is not worth the good things that Android offers in my case. I’m glad when you said that android fans should not get annoyed / offended, if you disagree with some things about android.
I always believed it’s perfectly okay to have different opinions, even if you disagree with someone. As long as you don’t hurt the other person, or force them to agree with you etc. Then all is fine.
And I reckon that’s why it may trigger some people: the bad experiences with the loud mouths, the trolls, the “shut up, I’m always right” folks. Well....that’s some people. But some can talk, even disagree, but still be civilized. And you are one of them.
Heck even as an iphone user since the iPhone 4, I won’t lie we have some faults within Apple. This is the best video I've heard on the update issue with Android. They need some kind of industry consortium that controls the updates. But that will require Google to give up some control. I noticed that Google worked with Samsung on Android 12. Maybe something is in the works.
The update issue is the primary reason I don't/won't jump to Android.

Travis, you sure do change your mind quickly. I just finished watching two of your videos. The first one was from 2019 in which you gave reasons to switch from iPhone to Samsung s10.
In it you gushed about the ability to customize and about how unbeatable Samsung pay is. You said it was great because you could use it anywhere there's a card reader. Said you had been using it for four years and loved it.
Immediately after watching that video I hear you saying in this one that customizing is overrated and that you're more interested in having a fixed system that works well. Then you said there wasn't much use in Samsung pay because you rarely used it and didn't want to go through the hassle of convincing cashiers that it would work. Thanks a lot for the advice.

In the car to listen to and respond to messages, get directions, find a place to eat and who delivers food in today's pandemic world. I tried Siri once. ONCE. Nope...never switching to an iPhone unless Siri matures into something less aggravating. Loved the iMessage and FaceTime also, but hardly used it over, "Hey Google...Duo call Dan and message Mary that I'll be late." Yeah...Google and RCS messaging has finally arrived. Good video Travis. Couldn't agree more. Android oems need to take more control of updates. The May update for the S20 with camera fixes has been out for a week and only the unlocked versions in the states have received it. The longterm software support is a nice gesture, but they aren't guaranteed. They can change how long to support them whenever they choose. After that 1 year warranty expires, it's a roll of the dice.

4:10 is such an important point in this discussion. As an app developer who builds multi platform mobile apps, app development for IOS is far easier than app development for Android. The key reason for this is the pool of devices and screen sizes for Android is much much larger than for IOS. At any given time, your only accounting for a handful of screen sizes for IOS as well as only a handful of OS versions since iPhones get supported for at least 5 years whereas Android is at least 2 years. The OS adoption rate is also much higher for IOS than for Android. Not only that, every Android manufacturer has their own fork of Android which makes the pool of OS versions even more complicated. This results in much more well tested and optimized apps for IOS than there Android counterparts. I know a lot of people love their customization freedom with Android but that ecosystem naturally breeds incomplete and often buggy software.

Travis, the Android software update issues are of a business nature not of a technical one.
Samsung is a separate company from Google, it has its own separate business and production schedules with its own software department that has its own schedules tied to Samsung not to Google.
It also takes time to integrate and implement the newly released android version into the Samsung UI, these things take weeks at the very least.
That's just the nature of the beast, and it won't change any time soon.
Also apple has a very limited selection of devices it has total control over.
The most similar experience on android is of course the Google pixel.

I had enough, the fact i couldn't ever get my Samsung phones and accessories repaired at a Samsung store, HELL NO ! Apple is so well rounded, the customer support, superior hardware and build quality, FAR superior accessories, 5 years of os updates. Im sold and i aint ever coming back. Got airpod pros, watch, macbook air and ipad pro since! Why ? BECAUSE IT JUST WORKS and its work so FREAKING well !! Every problem i had was instantly resolved over the phone or within a few days in store. You cant beat that and what it brings to the table for the consumer. The ability to add in extra memory etc. That’s nowhere near enough for me to switch so I went back to an iPhone. They aren’t perfect god knows and do have limitations but I’ve worked around that over my time. Regular updates, Apple Pay, Imessage, airdrop etc are only a few of the reasons. It suits my needs as I have other Apple devices and integration with those is virtually seamless.

It is a little ironic that Apple customers are accused of being “fan boys”.... android users seem perpetually upset about something having to do with Apple....when it seems that Apple users are content to let android go where it will.
Btw, the difference in support is probably one reason that there is a vibrant market for old iPhones but not androids. I bought my wife an iPhone 7plus last year and despite its age, it works fine, and I cannot imagine the time or reality where it will be insufficient for her needs... or that it will stop functions because of failing Apple support. Both have their pros and cons, but at the end of the day, their just phones to text, call & use social media on. That's all.

My biggest issue with Android is SMS and app optimization. SMS is AWFUL and RCS is a step in the right direction but iMessage is king for sure. And then app optimization, I am a big social media user and all the big social media apps, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat for me, are just so miles better on my iPhone than they are on my android devices that it keeps me stuck with iOS (that and I’m pretty heavily invested in Apple’s ecosystem and it works so well that I feel spoiled)

Hi Travis, I haven't written anything in your comments to videos for some time, but here is my clear opinion. I like android because 70% of my friends use the google operating system. In relation to the updates, it is a fact that you say, they are late and of short duration, but there is already a solution, there are some programmers who still create updated operating systems for a specific device with some years. I still use the OP 5T with the official Rom, but if it doesn't arrive, I already have an alternative and with updated Android 10. In system updates and maintenance, apple is still the champion. A hug from the city of Porto, Portugal, stay safe. Cheers.

Apple’s eco system is second to none. I’m a long time Windows/Android user but I can’t deny that when it comes to having your devices seamlessly work with each other (desktop/laptop/tablet/phone, etc) no one does it better than Apple. Windows doesn’t work with Android as well as MacOS works with iOS and probably never will. It’s not even close

I've seen where everyone is saying the i phone 11 pro max has the best battery. But thats not actually true. I've been seeing a lot of real day use battery test. One was using the iPhone pro max, oneplus 8 pro, galaxy ultra, and they all were litterly seconds apart. The oneplus was first, the Apple and galaxy were second and 3rd with 1 second separating the 2.

👋🏽😃Hey Travis...I hope all is well and keep safe.😉
I remember there were Samsung stores within Best Buy...near the smartphone section of the store...but...they were short lived...and...in my experience...the person working the Samsung store stand...wasn’t all that proficient or very knowledgeable on Samsung smartphones and wearables... ...I discovered this with the first generation of Samsung Ear Buds...the IConX...I enjoyed the buds...however...I used them on a iPhone...6s at the time...so with that said...when the buds would fail...I thought it was some compatibility issue...and would go to the Samsung Store stand looking for guidance in the matter...and they never knew what the problem was...so then...the second generation of Galaxy Buds came out...and I gave them a chance...and they too failed...but...by then the Samsung Store stand was gone...I even communicated with Samsung directly...and they couldn’t even point me in the right direction...but a-last...I did try led again with the third generation...and have enjoyed them with no problems... ...but...Samsung dumbed them down in order to get them to work right...no on board activity coach...no heart rate monitor...and no on board memory for music downloads... ...then what really burned my buns with Samsung...is...not even a year later...Samsung come out with the Galaxy Buds+...that is compatible with iOS in every way... ...so I communicated with Samsung to see if there was a firmware update for the Galaxy Buds...be it that they weren’t even a year old...NOPE!...one would have to kick out another $150.°° dollars for a new pare of buds...to get the iOS compatibility... ...mind you...there was no heads up...that Buds+ was even in the pipeline...if so...I would have waited... ...so yeah...Samsung can kick 🦵🏽 rocks.🤨😠🤨

That's why I only buy Pixel. Yes they are behind on tech but the updates & patches come ASAP when they are announced. As I always say...Samsung would kill the game if they had the same support like apple phones & stopped making so damn many phones. I'm not paying 1200 for a phone then after 2 years I can't have the latest and greatest software. SD is more than able to handle 4+ years of software as pixel phones can

While I totally agree with you on 90% of what you said and most importantly we need to hold these OEMS to a higher standard (I don't blame Google, they seem to update their Pixels just fine) Android's open source is the blessing and curse.
That said, I've been on Nexus, Pixel and OnePlus phones only since 2014 so I disagree about the updates.

It's the business model. Samsung only makes money while selling a device. So they have to frequently sell devices. Apple gets money through the AppStore, iCloud, AppleMusic, iTunes, Books, ApplePay and so on from the existing customer base. So Apple is able to afford customers using their devices far longer. That's only possible with the integrated ecosystem.

The Pixel is equivalent the the iPhone, but consumers just don't want them. The thing is, they're spoilt for choice and looks. Maybe if Google offers up to 3 or 4 years of updates, it would be enticing. Google also need to build a great ecosystem and integration that works just as great as Apple's, cause that's one thing Apple has on lock.
But, now this isn't an excuse, but the average consumer don't care about updates. I know people, that updates are available for their phone, and they don't even bother to install them. They don't care. Apple forces updates on consumers, so much so that their device wouldn't move past the update screen. I've seen it personally, there's only so many times you can delay an update.

The ONE! thing that I DON'T! like about android is the video messaging! I have a Note 9 that is my main phone and I have a IPhone 5s which is still getting IOS updates! that is my side phone. If I send a video message to someone with another android phone that video may or may not go to there phone nice & clear when they receive it, and if its over 30 seconds or over a minute long I either wont be able to send it or I will have to reduce the size of the video file to send it. My IPhone 5s that STILL GETS UPDATES! I can send a video message that is over a minute long to someone else who has a IPhone & they receive my video the exact same way that I sent it... crystal clear. So I might just try that midnight IPhone 12 Pro Max later on this year as my main phone.

Their support in apple store where you would better go buy new phone than repair and updates that will slow down your device so you will upgrade sooner. You are stuck with what they will give you and have nothing to say what you actually want. Apps are optimized cause so many ppl just not care and pick iphone cause "it just works" so devs have to adapt to get more profits. For me it is just paying for not caring, if you have money and literally not want to think about your device just use it it is ok choice but in any other way it is just too overpriced for what you get.

The Only thing I find on my iPhone is Facebook to be buggy at times than it is on Android. I will say since going back to iOS it is a functional straight to the point phone which I like, and in fact missed as the last time I used an iPhone was in 2010 with the iPhone 3GS. The thing is Android is no better than iOS but its the skin on Android plus extras that make it different with some features I will never use this is why I got the Note 10 Lite. When I swapped sims I already missed my iPhone. iMessage...what can I say is the best. Android needs it. My friend who I occasionally chat with was like "you're on your galaxy today huh?"...like yeah I know. This is why with Android I decided not to ever buy a flagship or $1000+ android phone. However ,when the iPhone 12 Pro Max XL Super edition comes out that will be the phone I buy.

The people that get upset by this video missed the whole point. He said at the moment IOS and iPhone is right for HIM. That doesn't mean it is right for you. We all have our own opinion and are entitled to it without ramming it down other's throats. Just one point, Android may give security updates beyond the two years but that in not the same as a totally new OS update for at least 5 years. My wife has a 2015 iPhone 6s Plus and it got IOS 13 and the guys that leak that sort of thing say it will get IOS 14. That's 6 years. Maybe it won't, we will see but 5 years is great and that phone runs as fast as the day it was bought.

Why commit to one if you can have both? I like both experiences, I'm not going to say Android because it's too extensive, I'll say Samsung is great! I love One UI, displays are beautiful and packs way more awesome tech than an iPhone, on the other side iPhone are great and I love how the apps are optimized for iOS. An example, WhatsApp ... I use it a lot but when I want to make a call on Android, I have to open the app, going to whoever I want to call, open the chat, and then hit the call button; on iOS you can call people through WhatsApp in the contacts app directly and it will use the regular phone app to make the call and the calls are shown in the recent call log and that's pretty amazing to me because I use WhatsApp a lot. When it's my time to do my yearly switch I have the choice to choose whoever I want, switching it's way easier now, you can switch everything between iOS and Android super easy, even calendar and accounts. At the end of the day you choose what fits you and your lifestyle. If someone wants to criticize the phone I'm using they can buy me a new phone and I will gladly use it, but if I buy my phone and it's the one I want with my own money then shut up and store your thongue in a case and shove it up far away 😅.

On software updates - you're making it sound way worse than it is. Android is open source and so it's never gonna be as smooth a process as with a walled garden operating system.
Most Android phones from reputable companies get 2 Android OS updates meaning you will have an up to date phone for at least 3 years.
After that your phone doesn't suddenly stop working. It does everything it's always done and your apps are still updated through Google Play services. Under a manufacturer skin I bet most people couldn't even tell the difference between Android versions. It's really not a big deal!
Also I've seen iPhones and iPads slow down considerably when updated to the latest version of their OS and so their phone performs noticeably worse.
As for apps being better on iOS - that is very rare and some apps are better on Android especially Google one's.
American tech reviewers are so biased to iOS maybe because it's an American company but most of the points you made here I think are totally exaggerated. And how about all the restrictions you face on an iPhone from limited storage space to a total lack of customisation - imagine having to look at the same boring row of app icons with very limited widget support and messey notifications and let's not forget the hideous iTunes.
You can keep your iPhone thank you

It's preference for him I guess. In my opinion I can't stand iOS and it's limitations. It has it's benefits. But the whole updates spiel is hit and miss in the sense that iOS updates tend to ruin the experience of the phone later in its life cycle and most people usually upgrade their phones every 2-3 years.
Also iOS updates don't really bring mind blowing changes that you haven't already seen on Android, that's why I can never see myself switching because I have owned one before and I couldn't live with the few inconveniences iOS brought on me. Maybe iPads are the exception but apple's phones are just waaaaaay to basic and boring for me. But I guess it's an American thing

Tried iPhone 7 on 2019 (just want to use IOS). It turns out IOS is not just for me
Annoyed with navigation system. In FB alone have few different way to navigate 'back'
Can't download video freely from internet browser and manage them locally in the phone (no system file manager)
I can't multiple copy text and do multiple paste simultaneously for my work report message
The apps I used (especially apk Wallet) turned out to be rip off in IOS, need to pay more.... but free full freature in android.
I can't download what ever song file I want and set whatever song file as my ringtone or notification sound
My work environment are 100% windows PC. Just so much easy when use Android to connect with windows
The most annoying part is that you already spend too much money on the phone, and yet you'll find yourself in a situation where you need to pay more for the service you using in the phone. Which is annoying. Such as iCloud and other apple service.
And can someone tell me why I need to use wifi to download large apps when I have unlimited internet Telco plan 🤷

If my phone or tablet break I'll take it to CPR (Cell Phone Repair) they have done right me, I had a S8 Plus that had the sim tray break off inside it when I was getting my new phone the S9 Plus. I decided to take it to CPR and have them fix it I ordered a new sim tray for it and got it back from them and gave it to my brother to upgrade his S6 Edge. Even if I had an iPhone or iPad I'd go to CPR for repairs as Apple has bad business practices check out Louis Rossman on RUclips and you will see the issues with Apple and their repair service.
Battery life for me and what I've experienced my Samsung devices have been getting better battery life than Apple's devices.
About updates I'd rather wait for them as they work out the bugs and we all know what day 1 updates can get you bugs major bugs, we all know what Apple's updates can bring word's that can brick your Apple device so yeah I'd rather wait for updates thanks. Number one don't say I'm wrong about my views on updates I can say that you're wrong about Apple but I'm not as it's your own decision on what you like and prefer so don't dare tell me my opinion for myself is wrong. What you said was close to if not on the very edge of being like a dictator which I dislike very much so don't tell I'm wrong on my views because you like day 1 updates.
Too many updates on a device is bad why well the hardware can't keep up with the newer software so I don't mind less major updates on my devices, nope I'm not part of any problem that's just your opinion not a fact. If you like the day 1 updates then fine you should aslo enjoy your groundbreaking bugs that can possibly come with them.
