    Hi Dyl, Richmond fan here, been getting into the draft this year obviously. Now, I've only watched a few youtube clips and your videos so maybe I'm a bit off, but why isn't Tobie Travaglia rated higher?. I love what he does on the field. Plus while he is great at half back I think he projects to be a elite midfielder. Once again that's coming from a guy who knows nothing but a few highlight reels so maybe I'm off.
    Been enjoying the videos, keep it up!

    • @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft
      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft  3 месяца назад

      Hi! Thanks for the comment! I reckon you're spot on with Travaglia! he's a gun and the way he moves for someone pushing 190cm is elite! I don't think he's had enough opportunity in the midfield this season and that is ultimately what has him behind the top guys. He's looking like a real bargain to me though! The other player I have my eye on is Angus Clarke from SA. Similar size and attributes to Travaglia but only averaging around 18 disposals off half back so doesn't jump off the page.

    Personally as a Richmond supporter my dream haul would be a Jagga Smith at pick 1 I just love the way he plays, I wouldn’t hate someone like fin O’Sullivan but I just think that we need someone who can get a lot of the ball and can get the ball down the field and maybe a best available key back or small forward

    Interesting take on the Swans. The Swans currently have 7 KPDs an it is widely believed that Francis and Arnold won't be offered a new contract making that 5 (Rampe, Melican, McCartin, Snell & Edwards) Snell and Edwards are developing well and could be ready next year if called upon. With Cochran going to be matched on (#35-50) i don't see the Swans drafting a 4th KPD that hasn't debuted yet. Think they are fine in the halfback/wing area and on ball as well given Cleary Sheldrick, Parker and Adams all haven't had major minutes in the heart of the midfield at AFL level this year. KPF they have the regular 3 and then Hamling/Buller so maybe they look at adding someone in that area maybe an undersized key forward that is more mobile. But i think the big area that they don't have anyone is the medium forward aside from Hayward there is no forward between the heights of 194cm and like 182-3cm. Having said all that its the Swans so they are going to bid on 3 F/S / NGA products and then draft some bolter.

    • @ma3stro681
      @ma3stro681 2 месяца назад

      Kinnear Beatson needs to go. The last few drafts have been terrible with Vickery and Konstanty not looking like ever playing senior footy, and Gus Sheldrick always injured. Dylan Stephens was a complete bust when we could drafted Serong or Young. He picked The Chad and Juzzy which is his saving grace. Should go after Mitch Owens again … 🎉

    • @kybroome
      @kybroome 2 месяца назад

      @@ma3stro681 He only failed on the 2022 draft and even then Caleb Mitchell could be good and I feel like one of Magor or Vickery will get an extension. Outside of 2022 and failing with Stephens pick there are literally 0 drafts outside of 2022s draft that will not hold a 100 gamer in them and he started at the Swans in 2006. Some years he found 3-4 200 gamers in the same draft

    Great video. I think Melbourne should and will target an inside mid with their first pick. Viney 31 next year, question marks over Oliver, the club wants to swing Petracca forward more where possible, Sparrow hasn’t taken the next step, the list has absolutely 0 depth in that area. An insider with some silk and a good kick on him (finally) would work a treat

    • @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft
      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah that’s fair! I think Rivers has shown enough to be a high level mid, he’s probably a bit of a bonus and potentially Caleb Windsor gets groomed into an inside role. They certainly could still use high level talent there though. I agree on Oliver, which wouldn’t have been on the cards and Sparrow hasn’t done enough. Hard to get games into young guns when you’ve been up the ladder for a while too!

  • @MrMooremelody
    @MrMooremelody 3 месяца назад

    Great work Dylan. Out of interest, is Matt Whitlock a ruckman? Not sure if he can be Gawn's understudy unless he can be a pure ruck which I don't think he can be at 199cm.

    • @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft
      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft  3 месяца назад

      @@MrMooremelody yeah, he’s not a pure ruckman at this stage! For VIC Country he’s a KPD, and rotates through the ruck. He genuinely has the skill to play anywhere. He’s about the same height as TDK in his under 18 year. But yeah, you’d probably say at this stage he’s more of a SDK.

    Tough ask but where does a Smilie/Finn rank coming through say compared to Colby, Ryley Sanders, Windsor, Wilson. These kind of recent first rounders?

    • @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft
      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft  3 месяца назад

      It's a great question. Reid, McKercher, Sanders particularly looked above and beyond the quality expected for draftees imo but all for slightly different reasons. Windsor and Wilson have been fantastic but took some time to start finding the footy etc. I expect Jagga Smith to hit the ground running at AFL level, think he can play half back/mid and find the ball, like a McKercher has. To answer the question though, I think McKercher and Sanders are at a similar level to FOS and Jagga. Smillie I think will have a bigger adaptation period because of his size. Maybe More of a Tom Green trajectory.

      Yeah, not sure there's a lot of tall forward depth after Lord. Think it's just about getting that forward mix right. The team is stacked for inside mids, interesting where Perryman would play. I believe they do usually go early first round or end of first round though so you’re probably right based on precedent. The Camporeale twins will both go 30+ now, I suspect the Blues have had a word in their ear and they've switched off for the season. With Carlton's recent poor form I think you'll find that they will try and get 2 picks before they pick the Camporeale's.

    • @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft
      @DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft  2 месяца назад

      Yeah, I don't they will attract a bid inside the top 30, I think they would in other years but this draft is extremely deep! They're both great players at finding the footy but kicking lets them down slightly. Think Carlton will target one of the gun fwds with their first pick!

    • @robinmasters2530
      @robinmasters2530 2 месяца назад +1

      @@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft A few things, nobody, including Cal Twomey has either (let's just say Ben) in their top 30. Due to their injuries I don't expect that Carlton will make the finals and I expect them to finish 10th meaning they get pick 9 and 29. Carlton need to find another key defender and more speed/class through the midfield/small forward. I expect that Carlton will look to trade down to around 20 to ensure they get 2 picks before picking up the camporeale's. I expect Richmond will trade all their stars away which will set them up for at least 2 drafts, 3 if they're smart. Given that they could have as many as 9 picks under 30 they will be looking to send picks forward for future drafts. A trade with Carlton for say 21 for 29 and involving Carlton's future second rounder and Richmond's 2025 back end picks which they won't need is on the cards. If your Richmond you can afford to trade 21 given you could have 5 or 6 picks before that. This would give you an extra 2025 2nd rounder using back ended 2025 pick you won't use and you'd still be able to trade forward Carlton's pick 29 for additional pick future picks.
