Nice! You did a pretty solid job of justifying the picks there 👍👍 I have the same 1st three as you, and I completely agree with your reasoning for separating them from the pack . After that, things get a bit murkier. Obviously the likes of Ashcroft, Lombard and even Kako are off limits, so in terms of what comes next, it might come down to some attributes clubs are targeting specifically. As a big fan of Murphy Reid, I also agree with your opinion that he sits outside the top 10. Like you, i'm slightly concerned about his lack of topline athletic attributes also considering he's not particularly tall. It makes me wonder given the fact we've only really seen him play in sides where he is surrounded by elite mids, how would he go as the #1 option in a midfield?? I'm not convinced he's that guy, but I do think if you're a side that is already strong for elite contested mids, he could be very effective as that 4th or 5th option providing class & elite decision making on the outside & in transition (sort of like the situation he had at Vic Metro where he was behind Jagga Smith, Ashcroft and Smillie in the rotation).
As a Melbourne supporter i'm pretty invested in this top 15 discussion considering we have picks 5 and 9 as it stands!! Personally, I hope we take Tauru at 5 and Hotton at 9. The upside with both those players is tantalizing.

Yeah I think that’s a fair point! Jagga is extremely clean and light on his feet. I think that’s consistent in this draft. There’s not many that have everything in order. @@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraft true but i think ashcroft and smith are easily above him, i would have FoS at 3 personally and even then i think draper and lalor both could be picked above him as well.

@@DylanAlexanderFollowsDraftgoing back and look at previous drafts. To me fos and lalor is so much bigger of a risk than jagga. What if lalor isn’t dusty but is cam Rayner to me seem like quite similar at this point. And reading through paddy dows report he had the same profile as FOS going into the draft. It is just very scary.

@@Notverysupercoach yeah, I think we can look at players to compare aesthetically but two players are never the same. Sam Lalor isn’t Dusty and FOS isn’t paddy Dow. I think there is inherent risk in picking a player that relies on athleticism but the game is becoming very fast and athletic. I’d rather pick a player that I think has unique attributes to win games rather than risk averse plays.

Please take Hotton out of the thumbnail!! Don't want recruiters getting any ideas and picking him before my club can. Silky mover with great skills.

Horton just comes across as another small forward and I can't find any oliver hanford highlights but in my eyes we need to replace Houston.. he's a big blow to our game style and we got nothing for him

@@zacrasheed4522 yeah spot on! Port are struggling big time in the fwd half of the ground. Rioli was ridiculous in the finals but he’s 29. Port have been a fwd half team of late and Hannaford is just the type to be able to lock the ball in with his pressure and then produce a big moment when he does get the ball. He’s got underrated athleticism too! Hotton is a bit more creative and maybe more of a luxury player, great with ball in hand but would replace Rioli perfectly.

@@MichaelGraham-ht4bwcos his name's Hannaford. He's rough but he's got super speed and aggression at the contest. Kicked 6 goals in the QTR final. Inspiring type of player. Love to nab him at pick 24

@nickozu169 see I wasn't interested in the draft until port made this trade and now I'm chasing my tail trying to figure out who's who? I kinda think we need defenders man.. I dunno about forwards so much.. there's already too many to pick from selection is going to be a nightmare if everyone is healthy

@@jackcrook4435 I’ve seen countless Coates League games and Langford is the best player. He is the perfect player. Built like a tank and a fantastic decision maker by hand and foot. Does not turn the ball over and a beautiful overhead mark.
