Strongly disagree that Melbourne will go a KPF, we actually have 4 of them already (van Rooyen, Petty, Turner and Jefferson) and will get another tall next year with Jeff White's son. Midfield is much more concerning
I really don’t think Richmond would bother trading up since the draft is so deep. Pick 1, 6, 9 is no worse than having 1,2,3. If they can’t fit all those picks they will get in top 30 on the list, they’d be better off trading away the later picks to strengthen their hand next year.
Good call. Obviously we tried to have some fun with mock trades etc but agree obviously too some sides don't have this many list spots as of yet but was fun to play around

Nice vid mate, not a bad trade with wc and adding a second 1st rd pick. Can't see them taking Whitlock tho they would prefer a running hb, winger or another mid. Great work
Great work! I’ve heard the dons will take berry and secure the two best smalls in the draft. Thoughts? Given hawthorn’s rise, teams may look at copying their build.

@@PommyinOZ think the reliance on big key fwds is a thing of the past tbh. Looking the pies flag winning side, hawks this year, swans. We already have caddy. We just have no afl quality small fwds. I’d argue a gun small fwd is more important. Carlton have 2 of the best 5 key fwds but because the small fwds are useless it doesn’t allow them to play the modern transition game. Just my two cents anyway

My fave videos ever to do ones where you gotta put ya kahonas on the line so enjoy the big drafts with trades (no one seems to do them) I see your point, for me love the goat, and hardeman, but my firm belief is teams are going 1 tall Manic interceptors, and tobie is another level, and imo will be a set mid long term, so think it suits your clarko development of half back then mid, and suddenly you have a dynamic mid forward rotation 😉 so like the talls post 15 this year seems to be a trend to have a addam's family door opener as the key back now and a few there
The north trade is also horrendous. We are trading our future 1st another top 3 pick in a higher top end talent draft, into a low end talent draft and giving them pick 11 on top in the deeper draft. Assuming we are last next year again, and north are 17th. We are losing 1800 draft points in this trade, not even taking into account the difference in top end quality in the drafts. Even if we finish 16th and North 18th 2025 we are losing 1300 points lol.
Exactly!!! Completely shafted. If Richmond don’t have pick 1, 6(Rioli), 9 + 10 (Shai), 12 (Rioli + maybe 29), 13 (Baker) and 15 (Brisbane academy) we will have been shafted
As a saints fan, if we do manage to get band 1 compo (which I have a bad feeling we won't), id love to end up with 2 of Lalor, FOS, Draper, and Hotton. Probably hoping for a Hynes or one of the smalls in dattoli/Hannaford at our second round pick. My thoughts on Hotton at pick 10 is the fact that he's probably worth the risk considering how desperate we are for goal kicking/attacking mids. With Phillipou, Henry rotating, possibly Olli Hotton finally coming on next year?? it'd be rather nice to see us gain another couple out of the four I said i'd be ecstatic with at our potential 2 top 10 picks.
Us(eagles) getting fos despite trading down would be exactly WHY its not a bad idea at all. Getting baker in and still ending up with a pick 1 contender is perfect
Genuinely think as top 10 is hard to pick that they'll be mistakes and I back Eagles this year, feel Simmos game style is a bit old school recruiters with a fresh slate could go big here good luck m8

Solid mega Trade Pommy! Though I'd wager that if anything like that is taking place, than North would be throwing their hat into the ring along with pick 2, 22 and potentially pick 22 as they're looking more than likely to want to shift around for a top 10 pick with another top 15 pick. All in all a solid mega trade though and even your separate trade of North getting pick 11, 21 and a future 1st that does raise my eyebrows with interest in what could make the next 2 years even bigger for North. I must say... I sure hope this Travaglia kid is as good as you say cause man as a North supporter it would feel like absolute list build suicide to not take Trainor let alone a KPP with our first pick in tbe draft. We've got Hardeman, Goater and Bergman who are just about ready to come on into the backline (save Hardeman to an extent as he's still a fresh recruit) but it really I mean TRULY dosn't address a need in picking Tobs by North. Simple swap there though. If North took Trainor than Carlton would select Travaglia as insurance for when Saad retires. Reason I push hard on Trainor to North in this, is that we're not a winning club right now, but our health record is VERY strong and it's something that I believe we'll not baulk at for Trainors history. Wardlaw a prime and recent example as he's all but destroyed the fears of his hamstring injuries now and its too good of an opportunity to pass up for the royal blue and white. Tauru is a really good shout I'll concur kids got brilliant potential and I would be happy to have him at North. Gross is also a good shout too, but I might suggest a Tom Sims for either of Gross or Tauru as I think he's got a wealth of talent as a Key Forward and I think could surprise a few in rising up the order despite his recent injury. Loving the content Pommy, keep up the great work
Thanks mate. I'm hot on tobe! I feel the real key to clarko system is its intercept power and ball use down back hence I prefer him and get a solid lock down type to compliment. My opinion if in this scenario we went carlton tobe and north Luke it's still solid long term. Just my preference for clarko that is all.
@@PommyinOZ fair point mate. The way this year's crop of draftees are shaping, it's going to be REALLY interesting to see how many players rise and fall in the draft order. Especially after the combine.
Who do you think Saints would target with their 2nd round pick and do you think their 3rd round would be enough for a Macrae trade with the dogs, given we'd take on his $800k for 3 years.
I'd say if your paying salary it's like a Grundy dirty deal like any pick please pay it. Probably look at a project tall Wilkie there, so probably the perfect area to take on someone to learn from your senior blokes either an aldi Steele, or Wilkie or even a ruckman some later ones who've played good footy
Richmond man here I rate smith and Langford I hope so much they land at the tigers but I've heard on the grape vine we have gone cold on smille so I'd be suprised if we took him that early. I hope we get Lalor or FOS if we did land all thise picks Even if we end up with 1 6 9 10 I'd be still pretty happy about our prospects of cleaning up thanks for the video👍
Love the content. I don’t think Richmond would give a future first to get 2. The top 20+ in the draft is supposed to be in any order. So no need to sell the future when we will probably be last again next year.
Don't mind it. Tried to give you some varied selection. Been watching the Langdawg for a while and he screams Tigers play in my humble opinion but draper's sexy
Sydney would ask for way more than that if they are trading 21 (they won’t). No way Sydney would go for Stringer they have a no “muppets” policy, we should do the same thing by the way it works. Sydney will take a few key talls in that range imo.
Generally Sydney are one the fairest at the trade tablem don't think they'd go stringer l at all. Think he's pies bound if anywhere. Feel Sydney will back their excellent scouting later down Track in this draft. If they stuck which they may (think blues would pay even more if it came to shove) that could be the whitlock bros. But looking forward to what the swans do
Let’s be real they will probably find the next two Parker and Guldens their development is simply ridiculously good. Only slight thing with the pick you have them taking is they took Hanily in the MSD and speaking with a couple he’s very highly regarded there. They will delist/trade Konstanty who hasn’t worked out they may look at a small forward. However ai expect them to go a key tall back or forward at the first pick for them at least (maybe both). Think if Shanahan is there at that first pick he suits them the most local boy too. Whitlock the other one that suits them at that range. On a side note there’s a few whispers they are keen on Kennedy from us that may suit them
Yeah especially with Sheldrick likely to head home after this season might stay next year but a trade to WCE for say their f2 (helps with bidding next year) may suit both. Feel Sydney have had issues this year with that mid/fwd depth and Kennedy can do that.
Pomm love your work don’t think we’ll get trainor i dont think he’ll last to our pick and how do you think Carlton will address there lack of leg speed throughout the midfield there’s a couple of boys in the vfl who I like Maher Renshaw Steven’s and this little Italian guy he’s only played a handful of games something like Fortannato lol pace to burn and ferocious at the contest
Think ramshaw and fernanto are bog standard vfl players. Luke is intriguing I think the concussion puts the sides needing one today off a bit so hoping with some pick swaps were in the mix
Tough one! For mine I do not think they need a Mid like those in the top 5, Think the mistake a lot of sides make is going draft draft draft, and not spreading the load, In this example I think you can get MAJOR bang for buck, and fall back in a deep draft on talent! AFL is the only league where its rare, but history in other sports shows if you recruit your targets people over pay
Could do but they own 49 points for 69, 233 for 53 and 1112 totalling = 1414. Ashcroft will be discounted too around 2014 and their other player will be 648 = so 2662. Even if they went overs with Richmond and got 29,39 and 41 thats 1511 + 233 and 49 still a shortfall, they probably stuck with that as next year the points system hits hard so you dont want to be in deficit
I think youve undervalued Barrass and overvalued Baker here, Eagles getting big unders. If we assume its pick 3 for 6+18(roughly), then that leaves Baker worth more than Barrass with the rest of the pick swaps. Baker isnt worth even nearly as much as Barrass. Hawks probably need to give another 2nd rounder to the Eagles to even it up a bit. We also have Archer Reid who we rated in the teens last year as a young full forward who has shown quite a bit in the WAFL despite being in a poor side, cant see us going another KPF. Need outside mids and half backs more than anything
Love Pommies work as always, but i think the WCE Barrass/Baker actual values are a off the mark. I could see Richmond getting pick 18 for Baker at the very best. So 6 , 13 & 23 should be WCE first 3 selection's. WCE would be cracker's not to apply for AFL assistance after 3rd terrible year.
Would be pretty disappointed as a West Coast fan if we consented to your proposed Mega Trade. I honestly think pick 3 and whatever we get from Hawthorn (likely their 1st rounder) should be completely off the table, given our list predicament.
Could be a point. Personally I don't mind the selections I got you (humble opinion) Finn for me would be the perfect foil, and then a tall/project, and go crazy on roles later. Next year I feel is a fantastic year for you guy as it's double (extra pick) picks and not such a mid centric draft which I feel you've got some nice spread at this stage
Only reason pick 3 is on the table is because you want to keep your # of picks, and want Baker. Trading down from 3-9 lets you maintain that quantity, and bring in a great leader + Maintain a high pick in the deep draft.
We do need to come up with a key back to free up Weiters, im certain JSOS is the answer, my strategy would be targeting mids as quality may reach our pick taj Hotton would be my pick from what ive read. Then next year we can look to tade out Cerra.i wouldn't take Ben unless we got him as a bargin which means rookie then take,a small forward with 31 or even cooper hynes if Kennedy finds a trade
For mine cerra is a requirement. The latter end when both him and Walsh were fit showed how strong cerra is defensive side of stoppage which this year has been plugged by Kennedy and Hewett which is too slow. At this stage no value you're selling cerra well unders with it being a mid centric draft
@PommyinOZ I wouldn't trade him this year. Hopefully, next year, he could lift his value. I just find him and Walsh too similar. We're just dull, which creates no offensive pressure, which means we have to be more defensive.
But he's probably based on last year when fully fit our best two way play inside and out, like if we're serious you can't keep waiting 12 months, love bam but let's be honest owies bam and young ain't flag or bust players
@PommyinOZ having Cerra is not a disaster, and like I said, hopefully, he shows his value next year but 2 way running is Walshes job, bull Cripss, class Hollands, in and under lord, where's the burst. Next year is do or die with what we've got, but we have to have one eye on the future. That's why it's brilliant they are telling boys to shop themselves, means we mean business
Thanks mate, these ones are tough coz i like to have fun lol so its always easier once we have delistings etc so we can play under IRL circumstances but agree with ya! thanks
Think we have this every year this will walk etc. End of day "loyalty" to the club you support is rarely seen in adulthood sports people. Especially if it's a club with packed houses and in windows
@@PommyinOZ I agree ordinarily. Spidey senses tingle here. But we do need an interceptor in the backline. Blows my mind that 194 isn’t KPD size anymore. Dafuq are these children eating bruzz
@@thedownunderverse hahahahaahahaha I think its more that Voss like srunning that Port model one mid sized key with a tall key (Weitering) and then someone coming 3rd man, Haynes would be a GREAT person for Trainor to learn from as they have very similar assets
@@thedownunderverse Depends, Ive done it based on the reports around his concussion and concerns, North I do not think are in a possy to take a risk (did it with JHF were scorned) hence i went down a bit with them, Then Eagles could take him but I think FoS may slide a bit if this happened! could be a shout if North stick but think thats a RISK for mine, obvious due diligence taken
@@rahmcgah5144 Personally as this example showed the draft goes into a more WHAT NM need vs Want, 11 and 21 with push backs are still in the purview of talent, 15 to 25 has a lot of the Keys, and points of difference, and nexts years draft has some key points of difference as youve hit the draft hard i feel in last couple! especially last year! Im against you going mid first pick and think 2 is way too early to take a tall
@@PommyinOZI love this rationale for north. Especially when you factor brining in experience of Parker and Darling this year. North need to develop the talent they have right now (last two drafts worth) and then figure out what they need from there. Trying to rush in more 18 yr olds next year won't improve the team. But getting another top 5 pick next year would would.make sense. North would then have picked sheez and wardlaw as a pair, Colby and duursma together and then another pair to come in together just makes sense. That's with a few talls still coming in right now. Very positive from a shinboner perspective, hope it turns out that way
I hope Collingwood can snatch pick 12 off GC by bunching our third rounders with John Noble and use it to draft Luke Trainor then recruit Hudson Garoni as an SSP
@@PommyinOZHudson Garoni is hot property for anyone after a seasoned key forward, he’s kinda like Jesse Hogan and JJ Kennedy without shuffling in his run up but he’s a fantastic set shot, he’d be good news for Mihocek if Collingwood were to take him, if we recruit Garoni and Jonty Faull, I’d be happy with our off season, anyone called Jonty has a good pair of hands (ie Jonty Rhodes)

On a side note there’s a few whispers they are keen on Kennedy from us that may suit them
@brendanweller8498 wouldn't surprise he'd be perfect for you! Huge fan of Matt he needs full inside mins far too good to be carltons polyfilla
@@PommyinOZ it would be a great get and Berry I love very special player I also think very highly of Lindsay
St Kilda won't get pick 8, AFL has fixed it after Mckay last year and made it so he'd only be worth an end of 1st round
Yeah video was done when it was reported Band 1! sad times
Very hard to see North letting pick 2 go personally no matter what the added sauce to a deal
@@PommyinOZ i like the thinking behind it i just cant see North actually doing something like it
its been reported that the battle comp is gonna be a end of first round selection I've heard
@DennyBanfield-pl2uz suppose depends what magic sauce afl do this time
No way eagles are giving up 3 and the Barras compo for 6 18. Forget baker....FFS he's a second rounder at best.
I think Richmond takes Armstrong at 3 in this mock draft over Langford.
Could well do
Battle worth band 1 compo? It shouldn't go by contract size. So many teams paying overs these days.
With you but afl cooked lol
Hey Pom Lions likely trade their first round pick for Richmond late picks starting at 29 and on
Could do but they own 49 points for 69, 233 for 53 and 1112 totalling = 1414.
Maybe I made an error 😕
@PommyinOZ all good, it's hard to know how every team thinks at this time of year. Can always rely on a nuffie like me to point out a mistake 🤣
@@pletsas6243 Would much much prefer we give Baker a miss than lose pick 3 (or 13 should we have it).
@troystewart4746 love this mate I love it! Making me excited which is a concern as it's sept 🤣🤣🤣
If St Kilda get pick 8 as compensation for Battle that's a rort lol
Hoping it's later but Chol who is the definition of bog standard was way over most estimates. Something that needs to be clarified long term
Do we not have pick 11??
@@Corrado4353 matched bids for Levi and lombardo with battle comp pick knock you back like normal
Nice one
@@jamesm3723 thanks mate
Dees will pick FOS if he’s still available
It's a good shout. Still think their locked in for a key at this stage. Do wonder if you'll dangle a carrot and try and convert into two top 15s
WCE won’t part with 3 mate, those reports aren’t accurate. Great content, keep it up👍🏾
Thanks mate, these ones are tough coz i like to have fun lol so its always easier once we have delistings etc so we can play under IRL circumstances but agree with ya! thanks
North will take Trainor, if not in the draft then in a trade in a few years. It’s in his blood. Buyer beware
@@PommyinOZ Yep. Does he really slip to our pick though?
@@thedownunderverse Depends, Ive done it based on the reports around his concussion and concerns, North I do not think are in a possy to take a risk (did it with JHF were scorned) hence i went down a bit with them, Then Eagles could take him but I think FoS may slide a bit if this happened! could be a shout if North stick but think thats a RISK for mine, obvious due diligence taken
lol north trade pick 2 for 11, give it a rest.
Fut 1st which will be top3 n 21 with fut 2nd bk. Don't mine been potshotted but respond with fact
@PommyinOZ yeah but it's not just that is it. You have north giving up their future 2nd also.
@@PommyinOZI can see a world where north trade down for 2 inside the top 12, but not for a future 1st
Very positive from a shinboner perspective, hope it turns out that way
how does carlton have 15 and 22??
@MuhammadAli-ol7yi explained with a Sydney trade and it's current pick 11. Asterix denotes matched bids
Langford too slow. No thanks.
@metallewd3472 think that's a little harsh imo he's quality and think he'd suit yze system
I hope Collingwood can snatch pick 12 off GC by bunching our third rounders with John Noble and use it to draft Luke Trainor then recruit Hudson Garoni as an SSP
Love that mate
@@PommyinOZHudson Garoni is hot property for anyone after a seasoned key forward, he’s kinda like Jesse Hogan and JJ Kennedy without shuffling in his run up but he’s a fantastic set shot, he’d be good news for Mihocek if Collingwood were to take him, if we recruit Garoni and Jonty Faull, I’d be happy with our off season, anyone called Jonty has a good pair of hands (ie Jonty Rhodes)
