I switched from WordPress to Webflow about 3 years ago and I never looked back.

I started with Elementor on WordPress, then switched to Webflow. When Bricks was released, I returned to WordPress.

is bricks as robust as webflow?

@@goldenant9450 It's even better, the ecosystem is 10 times bigger than Webflow.

I've just wasted 2 weeks trying to create a project in WordPress. At every turn, I hit limitations and had to U-turn and go down another route. Most of the essential functionality is in "Pro" versions of plug ins, and I guess due to WP's architecture, there's never a try before you buy version. Costs soon start to spiral. Feels like Wordpress is sticky-taped together. I'm going to give Webflow a try and see if it's any better.

I've been there before. I think you will find Webflow much easier to work with.

Interesting its awesome seeing other people's experience. My own experience is kind of the opposite. I have used both Wordpress and Webflow and ultimately decided to stick with Wordpress as with Modern Page builders like Bricks Builder in combination with Advanced Themer and Brickforge gave me all the functionality Webflow offered (shortcuts, flexibility to create any layout I want and ability to create any animations and interactivity since Bricksforge uses gsap) and even more. If you are still using Wordpress with old builders like wp bakery, beaver builder, or even elementor then definitely Webflow is way better. I still like Webflow and its cool seeing what new updates they release as well as even Framer which is also an awesome tool but in my case Wordpress with Bricks Builder met all my requirements.

Great comment! I’m using Wordpress with Hostinger hosting. I’m using the Divi theme. I want to make my wedding photography website fast and have a rating of A. I’ve looked at framer and it looks great with the whole animations. Can I replicate this on Wordpress? Is framer and web flow a whole package or is it like Wordpress? Because like I say I already have hosting for 3 years.

@@TomLallyI know you can definitely replicate websites made in Webflow and, Framer in WordPress the difficulty is just going to depend on the tools you use and your experience. I'm not too familiar with Divi so I don't know how flexible and optimized it is but I know I could definitely make websites like those made in Webflow or Framer with Bricks builder and bricksforge on WordPress. Since you are using Divi I would look into motion page which is a plugin that works with various page builders like divi and would allow you to create those advanced animations.

Shouldn't you compare the web-based version of WP (that they host/maintain for you, like Webflow does) and not the open source one you have to download/host/maintain yourself?

    • @baileycanning

No because that version of WordPress is severely limited to the open source version making it an unfair comparison and ultimately like comparing apples to oranges. The web-based version of WP is much closer to Wix/Squarespace than Webflow.

What would be best to use for multi-category business directories? Open to suggestions and why? I don't have a Techy background.

I would say wordpress. CMS is more flexible, way more cost efficient, and in my opinion more easy to use. Use ACF for Post types and Elementor for design and displaying dynamic data.

Nobody talks about downsides of WP updates, security and seo. I think webflow here is clear winner

Webflow seems basic with content creation. It looks like with webflow you need to template everything prior.
