Anyone who doesn’t get nervous while using their ADAS system, should be. Comma doesn’t show the accidents people have gotten into using OpenPilot, but you can find them on their Discord. I’ve had OpenPilot get a “communication error” mid corner before, and it’s the reason why my hands are trembling at the wheel! 😟
Hi there again. Hope that I'm not barging in despite that I commented on one of your previous vlogs. I might as well enjoy watching the scenic drive in this video to de-stress after a hectic week. Hope that the sunlight didn't bother you or your passenger too much.
Hey thanks for watching. The lighting was nothing bothersome, and you’re likely asking because I set the ISO and Shutter Speed manually on the camera - the compromise was made in the exposure, but it would have been worse on auto. I will work on getting better at filming. Thanks again!
@@tonyc.0451 Without any sight of the pandemic ending, my only real "passenger" has been my partner; they have used Comma Two in the past but not Comma Three.
If you have a car in front of you that is driving at appropriate speeds (at posted speed limit signs and a bit slower in corners) and your car can achieve tight bends (Toyota is the best imho) then "yes"; there are still moments you will likely have to disengage to pass trucks, dodge accident debris, avoid animal carcasses, give room to CHP, etc, that is normal for Hwy-17 What car are you using for OpenPilot?
@@bryan.deleon thanks for reply Bryan. I have a 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. (I don’t comma or openpilot yet 😆). I live in San Jose, so seeing your comma videos on familiar streets is motivating me to get a comma 3.
Have you taken a gander here? github.com/commaai/openpilot/wiki/Chevy-Bolt Furthermore: github.com/JasonJShuler/openpilot That user and fork is probably one that you should research on.
@@dropcapapp no it does not require prime, but it does require an internet connection either through a SIM card you provide or hotspot from you mobile or car (my Rav4 has hotspot capabilities but I do not pay for it).
@@SamuelSandoval1 You can have navigation on the C2 using DragonPilot but you will need to setup tokens for MapBox and Google, which I have no experience to share and advise; to add I cannot vouch for its performance, both as a navigation service and how it affects the performance of the C2.
Everyone is so nervous in this car! 🤣

@@bryan.deleon I hope that this doesn't sound intrusive, but do your passengers also test the tech that you've shown on your channel as well?

@@bryan.deleon I suppose that you guys can make comparisons between both versions of Comma in the future, then. Thanks for answering.
peaceful drive , you have an awesome driver 👍👍👍
❤️❤️❤️
Wow ! Can default open pilot drive the CA-17 ?

Sorry I don’t fully understand, is your comma taking navigational directions from the CarPlay google maps? If so that is cool!
Not navigation, but it is using map data from Open Street Maps to determine how fast the car should be going.

what the best fork for HKG? dragonpilot work for it? long too? thanks in advance.
I don’t know if it fulfills all your criteria: github.com/sunnyhaibin/openpilot
Lots of love for their work and owner also drives HGK.
Do you know if it would work with Comma 2?
Yes! Most definitely. Most devs for DragonPilot are on Comma Two still I believe.
@@bryan.deleon so basically I’ll have the split nav map and OP on mine? I’m running Shane
