- Today we are covering a very popular product the Aladdin Easy Fit Isolator Valve, I am going to show you how easy this is to fit to a live water feed.
Clamps to pipework and installs an isolation valve safely in 3-5 minutes with the use of a drill. Provides a permanent, full-bore stop valve in the system. Installs into pressurised pipework, even with hot running water.

Excellent.
wonderfully explain,
camera also covered every small detail very well
You are really brilliant, outstanding and very informative video.
Many thanks for uploading it.
Great video Dan, was looking for a way to isolate toilet water whilst changing parts. The pipe is flexible so i can't use this. Still good to know about it though
Absolutely brilliant video even a numpty like myself would take that job on ……keep them coming 🍺🍺🍺
Good video Dan, not being a plumber, I didn't know about these, I'll bear them in mind in case I need one in the future. !!
One point tho', . I was so curious about how it actually worked, I had to search a couple of videos, to find a "take down" (and pressure test), of a fitted valve, ! Anyway, I'm fully up to speed now, about these "bad boys",,
Thanks again, these bits of kit, could really help you out of a tricky situation,,
Cheers,, John....
Thanks John, yeah they are great pieces of kit and certainly worth bearing in mind 👍🏻
Great video Dan thanks
Can you install this valve to old 1/2" imperial copper pipe?
Amazing 👍
Good idea better that a freeze kit which I've had actually burst the pipework it was freezing which led to a panic and cutting the live pipe and getting stoptap on quickly. Still if not able isolate its always a risk Plus the mains is never very easy to get to in my experience as a plumber. Good video though
Answers please??
Can I buy a drill bit for the hex bar to fit .
My drill & mothers is Chuck too small.
can this be used in the US where the pipes are in inch diameters -not metric-
I can do the whole lot without the tool drill section using a spanner wrench full Half inch cm??
Outset nut which doesn't need the tool bit
So we have 1 cm Half inch nut to marker red from blue or Mark to Mark nut side X 2 twist etc instructions
Very informative video dan! Is this something i can use on a outside tap system to isolate from the inside to stop the pipe from freezing and bursting?
As long as the isolation valve in located where the seals will not freeze then it will be perfect, exactly the same scenario in the video thanks Callum 😁
I have just tried to fit an Aladdin Isolator and failed. First, my 20v Ferrex drill would not drive the cutter into the pipe so, I had to use a ratchet. As the slug approached the back of the pipe it stopped moving forward so, the red line was not aligned with front of the collar. I had to press the valve spindle in against the water pressure(3.5bar) in order to fit the plastic collar but despite using a 12v drill at half torque and running the screws in sequentially the collar split!
I now find that the valve does not fully close!
How I wish I had simply used the snatch method which I have done on previous occasions when extending c/h systems.
You do have to make sure you follow the recommended installation method and use the correct tools etc fortunately I have not had any bad experiences as yet but there is always a first time haha
Full marks to Aladdin, after seeing my post they got in touch and offered the Pro version. I installed this in front of the standard model without a problem. It pushes the copper slug out of the way into a “blister” at the rear of the housing. Faultless service Aladdin. Many thanks.
What happens to the piece of copper pipe that’s been drilled out
This answer probably does not matter to you now but for those who are interested, there is a cavity at the end of the unit that holds the compressed sides of the drilled pipe. The pressure needed to cut through the pipe also includes compressing the copper waste.
Are they reusable?
The valves aren't, but the installation kits are. 👍🏻
I need the friggin isolator valves screwin again how many turns no way without the barrel Taken off grrrrrrr
Anyway someone could ship a couple of these to me?
They are crazy hard to find in America XD
Really that strange you would think it would be easier somewhere like America I guess would be too much to import
Wait for my council tax to do something Paid for work carried out??

Needs to be cheaper
Used 2 of these they both leaked. So not impressed.
That's not good news, they are a little tricky to use. Fortunately I've used several and luckily never had an issue. Hopefully the next one you try it will be ok 🤞🏻
