  • Most of us are familiar with Sharkbite, a popular push to connect fitting used with copper and pex piping. Now there is another choice, Quickfitting. Like the competition it uses O rings and jaws to grab onto the pipe and make a water tight connection without crimping, soldering, or wrenching. So which is better or is there no difference between the two? Join us as we review what Quickfitting has to offer.

Thanks for the great video. I'm doing research on my leaking issue with my shower whether to use copper or pex and your video validate for me to use quick fittings with PEX instead of going with copper. Thanks!!!!

Andrew, you can also use quick fittings on copper. I would chose PEX because it is easier to run and make your connections. If I was doing a bathroom I would go with crimp on connections versus quick fitting to save on money. Of course you have to buy a good crimper which is not cheap.

You checked all the boxes . Roger Wakefield went to the factory and tested several items , including competitors . This performed the best . The video is on his channel .

Bill, both Sharkbite and Quickfitting are good products when installed correctly. The Quickfitting can take higher pressure, but in home plumbing system pressures will never get that high. Between the two I would buy on price. Nice to be in the same mention as Roger Wakefield.

Jerry, products like Quickfitting and Sharkbite are great for the occasional one off fix. If one is looking at installing more than a handful then Jerry is correct that buying a crimping kit would be cheaper. Thank you for sharing.

So they copied sharkbite who invented this type of fitting i wonder if sharkbite should take them to court, typical

Peter, either it is different enough not to be a patent violation or the tech was licensed. Under very high pressure they perform differently, although not a concern for household use.
