My headlight has been out for weeks. My husband said, "just get the light and I'll figure it out". Got tired of waiting! Thanks to you, I did it all by myself!! Like the truck in your video, mine was a little tricky to get out, BUT I DID IT! :)
Great video; it really helped me complete this job. However, as others have thankfully mentioned, the removal of the indicator assembly greatly improved the ease of re-installing the light and lining everything up. Thank you
Hey Kyle (Hope that's your name) Thanks for the information! I've owned my '01 F-150 since 2003 and the passenger side headlight went out on it yesterday. Thought about just getting the bulb to fix it, however, after watching your video, I went to the website you referred to and ordered a new set of headlights. 196000 mi. and it makes sense to get new on both! Thanks, again for the detailed information. You made my life easier and save hours of headache! Dave
This video leaves a lot of stuff out that's very helpful. For instance when you pull the tabs up you pull them back and pull them up further, but the best thing to do is take out the parking light which gives you more room and is a big help.
This really is a great video for someone who loves their F150 like I do and want to get rid of those old dull looking stock headlights! I went with a LED kit I found on ebay and it is very very high end and bright! And I did same upgrade as video only my bulbs were Xenon, blue oncoming/white driver's view
Thanks for the video!! Been putting it off because I figured it was way more involved. After watching the video I said "are you kidding me?" and went and got er done.
Great video. Very helpful. I saw the clips when I went out to change the light. But had no idea what they were for. After watching this video it took 30 min, to change the bulbs. Including a trip the the store for the bulbs. Thanks again.
Thank you and God bless you for teaching us how to do it. Looks great. Wish it was that easy on newer cars my 14 ford fusion is a pain in the rear to replace the headlight bulbs.
Thanks, this helped a lot. Hardest part for me was reinstalling the new assembly but its usually easier to take apart then put back together with most things.
Great vid. I've found that it is easier to remove and especially replace the headlight housing if the corner light housings are first removed. One starz screw holds each corner light housing in place. Very easy to remove and replace. Actually aiming the headlights is more of a challenge and for me is trial and error. Hopefully someone has a video on an easy way to do that.
First vehicle I got was a stick shift Ford f150 2001 and when I got it it had a lot of Messed up parts and this vid will surly help me out a lot! Thanks man.
Thanks for the video. I was able to get a pair for under 40 bucks on Amazon. Also, it helps to take out the turn signal if you can't get the headlight screw lined up. Sorry if any of this was already mentioned.
Sweet man. Thanks! I almost started to change mine by pulling two tabs off that plastic shield over the core support but stopped short because that didn't seem to give any more access to the plug. I see those holes where the tabs are and will use em.
I think it would be a good idea to also clear coat or put some protective layer over your new headlights so that the sun doesnt make them wear out again!
THANK YOU SO MUCH i GOT IT...Oh how much pressure needed to push down on tab also whats the difference between high and low beam do I get both or does it come one part (please don't laugh) I'm try this myself ..
Im dissapointed with mine, i guess the housing the holds the headlights it’s different? Idk if I need to a junkyard & get that part or what. It’s a 97 f150
Good video but in ADDITION, one single torx t-20 screw on top of parking light lets you slide it directly forward out of the grill to see the mechanics you will be getting into. The black studs you put back into the hole have to be turned at a 90 degree angle to slide the retainer back on AND leave it to engineers to design it so you have to remove the headlight to adjust it. I screwed the adjusters to match the old one.
While most of this is right on, the alignment of the fasteners when replacing the new headlight is a major pain, Besides rotating the screw adjustments to be up and down, there are a set of tabs that engage support fins above and below each hole for the mounting screw. It is very difficult to align these and push into place as you have guide each one and you cannot see what you are doing, Not as easy as in the video and he did not mention this step at all. I don't know what could be different of my 1998 F-150 that makes it so difficult?
Sloppy job I have ever seen!! Why didn't you take out the turn single cover out next to the headlight? It'll make the job much more easier to pull out the headlight and reinstall them. And then put the turn single cover back on??
Looks like filmed during a 7.7 earthquake. Got motion sick trying to watch. And the hardest part, getting the studs through the three holes? Cut filming, didn't show it, just says 'wiggle it in.' Waste of time
You paused at about 6:30 and didn't show the problems you have with lining up the "channels" and the sliding in correctly. You're doing a disservice to people by not showing and warning them about the additional work and or problems. F for failure.

Measure and compare space on old adjustment and Stud than put the light in.

The parking light removed makes installing the headlight so much easier
Theres a single screw on top to remove The parking light
highly recommend pull the side light.

I greased the tabs on my 03 s10 for ease of removal in the future and to make it easy to lock them back in.

Exactly. This video is WORTHLESS.
I have the 97, and it was exactly as shown, your 98 must be different.
Who was the engineer who designed these headlights for Ford? I want a name! Thanks for the video!
I need to know how to reach the alignment screws on the 1998 F-150
Do the headlights need to be adjusted? Doesn't that need special equipment to the light just right?
worked perfectly, thank you!
Thank you brother, ur vid helped me out 🙏
Thanks for the video!
Short sweet simple thanks
What would cause a head lamp to just fall our of the truck?
cool,really helpful video.
Thank you very much.
Thanks, very helpful!
very helpful, thanks.
The is a little retaining clip on the PULL UP LEVEL that has to be relieved to pull it all the way up
Thank you for the video.
PalaniRides No problem! Glad I could help!
Really hard to line up those holes with one hand.
Tabs go up, back, and up AGAIN.
Thank you so much!

Its not the same for a 2003 expedition sorry dude

LOL. The headlights are in the headlights.
Sloppy job I have ever seen!! Why didn't you take out the turn single cover out next to the headlight? It'll make the job much more easier to pull out the headlight and reinstall them. And then put the turn single cover back on??
Buy a tripod. It will make better videos.
