I saw the original four times. The first time within two measures I knew here was a composer of astonishing skill. At that point, I didn't know Adam Guettel was the grandson of Richard Rodgers and the son of Mary Rodgers. Why did it take him so long to do another show? (Days of Wine and Roses--kind of a bummer of a topic).
