@@rock_carter1the thing that's even more terrifying is that Coach Mark says he barely coaches SGA cause he doesn't need it so he has more time to coach up the rest of the team to get them where they need to be

Honestly j dub is an athlete period. Last year I became a season ticket holder and he won me over with a first quarter buzzer beater to tie w the lakers 40-40.
Another great video, and much needed! I’m shocked more people don’t realize how good he is on the defensive end. His on ball has room for growth but his size and strength should give him a good opportunity to shine there too.
Nobody on OKC is winning Defensive Player of the Year because half the team could be nominated and nobody can decide which guy is 'the' guy. SGA gets so little attention for his defensive skills because everyone just wants to view him as the star who puts up all the points. But he is a huge part of why the defense works. Then Dort is the guy you have guarding the best player on the court and the leader of the defense. Then Chet is just... Chet... Then you have guys like Alex Caruso and Cason Wallace just casually being first class NBA defenders often times coming off the bench. So JDub gets lost in that conversation sometimes, but the whole team is top notch on defense and they are only getting better. We will probably see a long stretch of opposing teams only putting up 80ish points at some point this season. When Chet and Hartenstein are back probably.
I think Chet was arguably Dpoy before he got injured. Cason Wallace looks like if he played 30 minutes a game he could be a Dpoy candidate lol. The dude is insane.
Chet anchors this defense so much too. Last year it elevated our defense so much. I’m hoping that with Chet out, our guys will see how they can help Chet more. Something Dub said was working harder and not just settling with funneling players into Chet.
@@KBilliez their guards are freakish rim protectors for their position, they had 7 blocks last night without Chet. J Dub is a great rim protector for his size, Shai is really good, Cason and Caruso can both do it. They’re crazy deep.
Like others I would say they are all great defenders... But as far as okc's defensive ace? That would actually be a debate between Dort and Caruso, but if Williams keeps having defensive performances like he did against N.O. then he'd be able to be considered for our defensive ace, yes he's been solid before that game but not necessarily a stand out... Hell chet when he's been in has been more of a consistent defensive nightmare, really chet is probably one of if not the best rim defender in the league right now. This is just an example of why the thunder will most likely be the champs this year with potential to build a dynasty and bring in multiple rings possibly even win multiple rings in a row... #gothunder
Saying jdub is a top 5 perimeter defender in the league when the thunder also have lu dort, Caruso, Cason Wallace and Shai who led the league in steals last year is a big claim
@@Curt-v4vnah. Jdub has so much potential and he will end up being much better than Green. I’m a Draymond hater with how he acts Ngl so maybe that’s my bias lol.
@@christianmcallister2829 JDubs is a probably q better overall player now than Dray in his prime tbh. Im just talkiing as a small ball center, thats all. Gotta give credit where its due, Draymond was an integral piece to how the warriors changed basketball into a small ball era. Damn near every team now puts a 6'6-6'7 guy at the PF because of him and teams are always looking for their own "death" small ball lineup. He rebounds, blocks shots, and guards the interior better than JDub. I don't think JDub will have to do those things with a hopefully healthy Chet & Hartenstein over the next few years.
They really got a whole team of + defenders its really crazy to watch in real time the way these 6’4/6’5 guys can cover ground
for real. i knew they had defenders but sometimes i see them getting stop after stop and can only think damn.
The thunder has one of the best coaches in the NBA
true. with good offense, great defense and coaching the sky is the limit for this team.

I love these defense videos. How about shead and mitchell in Toronto?
They are smart with long ass arms. Create pure chaos.
He's one of the best players in the league, period.

We got a lot of defensive aces on the prerimter which is why Chet being back really unlocked this team
JDub + Dort = full defense and 3 points everywhere ❤
Love the video man keep it up
thank you!
I have no idea how to work with microphones, but could you figure out how to change your settings so we don’t have to hear the asmr mouth noises?😂
THIS!! like bro i love the videos and insight but the swallowing noises genuinely make me gag😭😭
Stand further away from the microphone
@@sgrey9181 think i need a new mic sadly
Do a super chat to support a gear upgrade
Shai, JDUB, Jones are all around 6'6 with 7'0 + wingspans
What was the last time a team had like 3 or 4 ELITE perimeter defenders

JDub is basically a lighter version of Draymond Green in terms of height and wingspan.
I hate to even hear JDub’s name in the same sentence as the donkey’s

i mean Jdub is arguably better than all of them except Dort... I think its more about OKC brand of defense, other teams don't put much focus on it
How does JDub compare to when Draymond plays the 5? They got similar builds imo
Draymonds better at it. JDub can do this in spurts, but they need Holmgren & Hartenstein back come playoff time.
