- On Sept. 28, Hurricane Ian made landfall near Cayo Costa in southwestern Florida as a dangerous, high-end Category 4 storm after plowing a path of destruction through the Caribbean, bringing particularly heavy rainfall and dangerous surf to Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and western Cuba. After crossing over the Florida peninsula, where it had weakened to a tropical storm, it strengthened again over the water to a Category 1 hurricane and made a second landfall near Georgetown, South Carolina.

I was told by a man that lives on Boca Grande, the report at Boca Grande toll bridge winds were 170-208 ...... and the next time they say its going to Tampa? we know that means Port Charlotte.
Thank God, I survived from Hurricane Ian!! I'm so glad and extremely lucky my house didn't get flooded or destroyed. I swear Hurricane Ian ALMOST Hit Naples, Florida and I ALMOST DIED from Hurricane Ian but I'm still alive.
RIP Fort Myers, Florida and the other homes in Florida.
I live in Tampa Bay and am shook to the core.

Been a NASA engineer for 40 years... with JPSS (sister program to GOES) for the past 7 years. This is why we do what we do. Look for the JPSS-2 launch November 1st
The music reminds me of everybody’s destroyed homes 😢😢😢
I live in North Port, it's truly devastating
Port Charlotte here it was a natural disaster almost such widespread destruction the entire span of storm.
here in Fort Myers, I think after like 12 pm we where in the eye wall, since we live inland we didn't get flooded but our friends who live by the beach did..prayers up for those who got it worse then we did 🙏
