Driving home from work around 6pm, it was slightly cloudy yet bright and suddenly the sky turned pitch black as if it was midnight, it started to rain hard, the tornado warning notification screaming from my phone then really strong winds which moved my car side to side and a yield sign hit a truck near me. It was so sudden.

Incorrect they actually decrease velocity due to the drag coefficient as the air moves across wide surfaces ...]also most of these " high rise" window breaks are far too sparse and sporadic for it to be accurately be caused by any actual wind event and more often than not are intentionally broken from the inside out rather than the outside in just in attempts to defraud insurance claims esp after the " media" hypes the garbage up ...

@@leifpeterson4850 it means that hurricane season is on the way. Ocean temps in gulf and atlantic ocean are WAYYYY above normal.....water temps in May are more like what we see in July-September. Add onto that, we're going out of an EL-Nino, quickly into a La-Nina right at the start of hurricane season - La-Nina conditions lessen the winds that shear the tops off hurricanes. So that being said, - with MUCH warmer than usual ocean temps (fuel for hurricanes), and a La-Nina weather - less wind in the upper atmosphere to tear hurricanes apart....................hurricane season 2024...................will become hyper-active, AND the high pressure system that sits out over the Atlantic near the Azores is supposed to creep closer to Bermuda this summer and fall, steering a lot of hurricanes right into the Atlantic coastline and up the coast as well as into the gulf. It's supposed to be the worst hurricane season that any of us have ever seen now due to global warming.

Boston had it in 1980 and it wasn't anything to do with weather, I think it was an issue with putty in the then new John Hancock building that caused hundreds of panes of glass to fall out.

The damage downtown was NOTHING. 1000's of trees big and small up-rooted all over town... many falling on power lines and houses and cars. Something like 1,000,000 homes and businesses without power in a matter of minutes. (The entire wind storm only lasted about 10 minutes but did millions in damage.) Almost NO rain... so no flooding or anything like that. Just trees down, windows blown out, roofs blown off, etc.
