2 Officers Refused Service At Texas Whataburger "We Don't Serve Cops"

- LEWSIVILLE, Texas -Law enforcement officials in North Texas say that an employee at a Whataburger location refused to serve them Tuesday night because they were officers of the law.
Milford Police Department officer Cameron Beckham and Strawn Dep. Michael Magovern stopped at a Lewisville Whataburger location together on Tuesday night to grab a bite to eat before heading to work a late-night construction security job in the Lewisville area.
The man who told them they would not be served identified himself as a manager at the Whataburger location.
“We don’t serve police,” is what the employee allegedly said to the pair.
The officers told a local Fox outlet that they were in shock at the treatment.
“It’s not every day that you go to an establishment thinking that you are going to hear something like that,” said Beckham.
Magovern thinks that the employee needs to learn some people skills. The officers instead went to an area Dairy Queen for dinner.
The pair told Dallas’ CBS affiliate they don’t think it’s a Whataburger corporate issue, but an employment issue.

Cops should bring a lunch from home! Especially now, cops have earned the treatment that their getting and honestly it's not safe for them to eat anywhere that they can't watch their food being prepared.

If I ever see that when I go to the States. I'm yelling "NO, no! We're not having this. Sir (or madam) what would you like to order?.....ok I'd like to order x (whatever cop wants)..... Here you go Sir, sorry about that. Don't worry about the money, the meals on me, you deserve it." That's disgusting and that makes me mad. I would understand if he was a cop that killed an innocent person (by that I mean someone who wasn't an immediate risk of murdering someone). But from what I understand this guy's a normal cop. I'm speechless.
To be fair, their asses do not need Whataburger. It is ridiculous that most law enforcement agencies do not require their employees to pass a yearly physical or to keep with a appropriate height & weight ratio.

So. Not only does becoming a police officer give rights above the law(unspoken), but now they are forcing private business to cater to them by means of social pressure. If this doesnt sound like a gang then what does? This kind of attitude that police have lies so so in line with organized crime.
During segregation in the south if there was (strong doubt) a black police person someone was refusing to serve him would have been legally ok. These police were not refused because they are part of a minority group and I don't think they are covered by a divisibility law.

I think the restaurant should have a special blend of seasoning that the restaurant workers can sprinkle on the burgers when cops go there to eat. Something extra special just for the police so that they will know how much we really appreciate all that they do for us; as in the bullying, beatings and murders that they commit on us.

to tell you the truth I don't feel safe or comfortable when police officers are around me in restaurants they are regular people they can snap at any time and when they're in the same establishment they are very loud and very nasty I see them skip people and just try to be and use their Authority like they run stuff in the area and it's not fair

i went to a Whataburger one time with friends and there were a few police vans parked there i was really nervous so i just find a parking spot that was further away from them

Whataburger corporate gave the location a choice: Fire everyone who would not serve the officers, or the franchise would be revoked and they'd have to close.

OK. So I was in Temple, TX when my wife said she was hungry, and that she wanted Jack In The Box. So I located the Jack in the Box on HK Dodgen Loop, near I-35 and we went inside. I was waiting in line behind one person. After they took HIS order I stepped up to the counter. A nice young man started to take my order when the black female manager walked over saying, "Uh uhh! Uh uhh!", and kicked the kid off the register. So the young man (a young black man, BTW) moved to the other register, and again started to take my order when the manager once again kicked him off THAT register, as well. The young man had a look of utter shock on his face as the manager pulled the cash drawers while she was saying something about the cash. See, I was wearing my NYPD hat which had been purchased by a friend at Ground Zero in NYC on the 10th Anniversary of 9/11. She didn't want to serve me because I was a white man wearing a police hat. I'm not even a cop. I'm just a guy who was trying to feed my hungry Filipino wife. So I found another Jack in the Box a few miles away and fortunately, when I said something to THEM, the District Manager happened to be there. I wouldn't recommend that any white people go to that Jack in the Box on HK Dodgen Loop in Temple, TX.
That's a real Texas type of thing to say almost like saying, "We don't take too likely to your kind around here".
I would serve them out of fear only. If a Hells Angle came in I would rather not serve them ..... if police came in same goes. I say to both groups cover up and don't show your identifying clothing. If I treat the Hells Angle wrong something may happen to my business. If I treat the police wrong when needed they won't come. I will be surprised if that guy who refused to serve them doesn't get arrested for probable cause a couple of months later. In Toronto during the G20 riots the police were riding at the front of a crowded subway car but near them there were lots of empty seats for some reason. When they got off the seats were filled quickly. Out of uniform I am sure that the majority of both Hells Angels and police are nice people.
Cops are people too and do a job...yes a job, that deals primarily with the people that make a rude customer at a McDonald's look like a star citizen. When it comes to doing hard decisions you yourself wouldn't do and would much rather have someone else do they come and handle it, occasionally things escalate and when a person's dealt with enough bullshit and someone decides they want to push their luck and test a mentally stressed out individual who's job is to maintain order and justice, they're left with either losing their life or taking a life, a consequence that comes with an already grueling low paying job. Don't expect a janitor to come clean your toilet without smelling like shit afterwards.
That would NEVER happen in Livingston, Texas, But if it did the employee would be Fired ! It's like disrespecting a Veteran & you should see what is right next to Whataburger . The 1st thing you see when you enter town is our Patriotism Right Next to Whataburger .

That manager should be fired cause they teach you at manager classes you can only refuse service to someone if that person is threatening damage to employees or restaurant property not for being in a perfection you don't agree with cause now if your store gets robbed who's going to show up not those cops so you just put your employee's life in danger because of a personal grudge against cops
