Hi folks, this is a bit of a different format today. Windy weather and the fact it was more holiday than filming trip left me little to work with editing the video, but this is what I managed to pull together from my dodgy clips, I really hope you still enjoy it! You deserved a video of some sort this week so this is it :D
Postcards being dropped in the post at 17:42, very much a dying art form and I love sending and getting them from friends while they are traveling. Hi Steve, I've currently going through a really tough patch in my life and Your videos are a real pick me up. This video however has blown me away! Great stuff.
@@steve-marsh Thanks Steve, it's been a torrid 12 months. Honestly, I love your videos, they have such a calming tone and you guys really do visit some beautiful locations. Keep up the good work.
Sorry you are going through a tough time. Just say to yourself “ this too will pass)” I don’t know how old you are, but when I am feeling down I watch RUclips , “ good old british childhood” and “ yesteryears” . They remind us of all the good times we had as a child . It helped me, because I lost my dear husband 🌹🇨🇦

Although the weather was a bit “dreich” I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, why would u want to holiday anywhere but Scotland! Been looking forward to the new video Steve! Class as always 🏴🏴
@@volvot5boy Mark, just the person I want to talk to. You live on Harris? Is there anyway I can get to Harris distillery from Isle of Skye and back again the same day in October? I looked at the Ferry Winter timetable from last year and there doesn't seem to be any ferries going there from Skye and back on the same day. Is this true? Are there other ferries I could take back to the mainland?
That was fabulous Steve! I've never seen so much of Orkney before, and weren't you lucky with the weather? The beaches and the cliff formations were stunning. Thank you for taking us on a great trip!
Wow, absolutely loved that. What a place! Fun fact: 10-15 years ago on Top Gear, Hammond and May posted a letter on the Scilly Isles just off Cornwall addressed to your dream house in Orkney. Their challenge was to drive up there before the letter does. :)

Steve and Alicja, I think this is one of the best vlogs you’ve put together, the music and editing was I point !! ( my favourite anyway!) and that’s saying something!! Keep it up guys !! Look forward to the next !!!
Started looking at your videos, many of which have inspired me to visit the places. Love the soundtracks, the opening one with this video is very moving, what is it called and by whom? Thanks.
The scenery was, as usual, stunning! I loved the collection of sea pottery, I can picture it done up as a wall hanging or something. So much history, that was unbelievable!
Thanks Michele! I'm sure Alicja will do her magic on the pottery and make something very cool :) There's SOOO much to see on Orkney, many trips back required!
Fabulous video! I don't know why have missed this until now. It's many years since I was in Orkney. My wife and I (and our then one toddler) flew down from Shetland one time for a weekend. The weather turned bad, so the only way back was on the cargo ferry (pre roll-on-roll off). They could take 12 passengers -- and our son was the 13th! We had a small cabin on this small, unstabilised boat and rolled all night from Kirkwall to Lerwick. The motion was especially bad as we crossed the Sumburgh Roost, the tide race at the south end of Shetland. Orkney and Shetland have many similarities, but also significant differences. By the way, I love the Italian chapel - and amazing work of art by the Italian prisoners of war.
This was just perfect ! love you guys , you have so much fun together , never stop doing what you're doing , we appreciate you both so much . Thank you .
Looks stunning. RUclips has done so much for tourism in the UK, unearthed by the pandemic. So much to see and enjoy on our wonderful archipelago. Great video both. I look forward to watching more.
Good choice, no, great choice. This might just be your best one yet. Loved the drive up north, Scotland with mist and rain feels like home😁. Actually got goosebumps watching this one, if I was ever to flit back to Scotland I would really like to live on Orkney. Such a wonderful place and I haven't even been on Orkney but th history of the place is very special even for Scotland. Look forward to your next adventure.👍🏴🇳🇱
