Have to share this one...I'm at my brother's house last week (also here in Durban, S.Africa) and I was telling him there's this really great channel on RUclips showing all these great places in Scotland to visit and he says "Is it Steve Marsh?" So there you go Steve, you're ubiquitous!
You folks are my eyes and ears in Scotland! I'm 64 and of Scots ancestry. I even play the pipes and belong to a pipe band. But, I've lived 61 of those 64 years in California. I doubt very much I will make it over there. Thanks very much for the videos! And permit this 'auld man' to say ye wife is a bonny lass!
Thank you both for showing us around. What a long walk! but I've come to realise that this is nothing for you guys. Amazing. The boat trip was awesome, what a lovely thing to be able to do. Really enjoyed this one
I think that must be the most stunning coast line in Scotland,so varying at every turn, just loving the content you guys are putting out,10 out of 10 again 😎🏴
We are landing in Inverness on Thursday for a 2 week visit of the Highlands and your vids have helped tremendously. We had not planned on spending too much time in Wick but this has changed our minds! Thank you for showing off you homeland and we can't wait to see it!
Steve, you are genuinely putting together a great body of work for people who want to explore Scotland. I feel like getting in my car now and driving from mid-Wales to Wick for a boat trip.
Thanks Steve and Alicija for another fabulous trip. Wick looks an amazing place and the coastline is just stunning. You two make it extra special though with your enthusiasm and interesting information. ❤️x
Absolutely agree with "I watch from start to finish" Steve, it's just another little gem from Scotland's best filmmaker...quality music to match thanks Steve.
What a fabulous tour Steve, the Geo Explorer looked amazing 🤩 pleased that it was a calm day! The looks on your faces said you really enjoyed it, plenty of sea birds 🦅 on the rocky cliffs, and the Guillemots looked quite comical all standing to attention, your second day was also very interesting, plenty of stunning features, your own private toilet, just remember don’t step backwards during the night trip to the loo!🫣 someone is bound to claim ownership of that golf ball now you have found it! 🤔 thank you 🙏 again you fearless warriors for going that extra mile on our behalf! 👍🥰🤗👋
I loved the smug look she gave you when she provided the first initial 'S' @ 15:54 when you were trying to mentally dredge up the name of Castle Sinclair. That must be taught in school because my spouse does the same look!
discovered your channel researching my cycle touring trip this coming July. outstanding work, the only issue is i have is that now i realize the 5 weeks i have planned is no where near enough time. brilliant!
Hi Mark. Many years ago (1987) my wife and I made our first trip to Scotland. We looked at the land area and figured that it was about this size of the state of Indiana. As we border that state and kind of know what’s to see and that we could see it all in three weeks. Like your figuring, that was not hear enough time. I don’t think we’ve have seen even half after three trips. Good luck on your bike trip and may the wind always be behind you
Steve, I hope you're on a retainer from the Scottish tourist Board (or VisitScotland as it seems to be called these days). They could do a lot worse than just link to your videos from the website. I now want to get to Wick and take that boat trip. Another great video, thanks.
I loved my time in Caithness, Sutherland, Shetlands, Lewis, Harris, Arran, all over really. Just beautiful. Maybe I'll retire to somewhere up there someday.
another great adventure! And I'm certainly glad that you said I am going no further than this. sometimes you guys get so close to the edge that I get vertigo almost. you two are my favorite travel hosts. be well, stay safe, love from Texas.
Well worth the wait for the vid', Steve. Thanks for taking us along. A lovely place, Wick, with so much to offer. Sorry that your flights to and from were so terrible. Stay safe, both. Keep on keeping on. Ian
Wick is so fascinating. I love anything to do with, water, harbours, beaches and maybe one day Alecja will show us her wonderful beach collection! Cheers BC🇨🇦
A six hour walk, wow that is a good effort, as always a magnificent journey, loved the boat ride and the castle. Take care and I lookforward to the next video,Cheers.
After watching this video we knew we had to do this boat trip so that’s how we spent our wedding anniversary yesterday! It was just as epic as you described. We were chatting with Bob in the cabin before we set off and mentioned we’d seen it on your video and he was very appreciative of you - he liked the fact you were genuine people who didn’t try freeloading off them and gave them such a lovely review. One extra bonus we saw which we didn’t expect from the video - the grey seals! Every time we stopped their little heads would come bobbing out the water looking at us from 50-100 yards away. Was such a lovely afternoon. Thank you!
I had no idea the coastline near Wick was like this. It's amazing - a bit reminiscent of the Orkney Islands. Thank you, Alicija and Steve for showing it us. Many years ago I did some work in Thurso and had quite a lot of spare time. I missed out on a lot.
Once again to gorgeous for words. Most people in Scotland don't go to these places. Being an Expat I search for this, I have found your channel to be the best so far. You and Alijca are perfect together.
I enjoyed this so much! I had no idea there were such incredible rock formations off the coast, and it was easy to see on your faces how much you were both enjoying that fantastic boat trip!
Hi Steve, Alicia, and everyone. What a video log, eh! So many adventures in a short time. Just what the doctor order at the end of a busy week. Thank you for sharing your awesome trip. Wonderful sights and ocean friends. Best part of the video, the whole thing!
You are both wonderful guides and very much appreciated. Here in Florida, the only rocks along our coasts have been put there to make jetties. So although we have beautiful beaches and wonderful lakes (albeit with alligators), we don't have the coastlines like Scotland UK, Norway, Sweden, and Ireland. One final note: After subscribing and watching video after video, I feel like I know you. You seem like a regular guy enjoying everything life has to offer. Please keep up the great work!!
Those stacks remind me of the Pancake rocks on the West Coast, South I, NZ! Imagine how impressive Castle Sinclair was when it was complete. Fantastic video 😊😊
That was brilliant Steve. That boat trip was fab. Such incredible scenery with the caves and waterfalls. Fantastic. Those wonderful place names have got to be Viking in origin? It's such a dramatic stretch of coastline and looks very underrated and under visited.
I love looking at historical pictures from the past, those ones you pointed out looking incredible. Great Yarmouth had similar along the wall just over from the theme park but sadly they were badly vandalised. Not been up to Wick in years, the last time I was up I went a good tour all around, mind going to the likes of Tain and Dornoch too, nice little places. Thanks again folks.
What a great video! I have never been to this region. Your boat cruise and walk were amazing. Thanks for showing us what Wick and surrounds have to offer.
I've lived near Thurso for 10 years and I haven't done that boat trip (yet). After seeing your vid I'm determined to go on it - thank you for a very inspiring and entertaining film.
You've inspired me Steve, it's my first trip back to the UK from Taiwan since 2018. I'll take a trip too Caithness and wick for 2 days, I'll be taking the train!
Friday afternoon…..MADE!!! Thanks for the upload on a weekend mate! Champion! If your on the west coast again you should try Luss and Balloch for the day. If the weather is nice it’s probably one of the most beautiful places in the country 🏴
Sitting here with the morning cuppa ...no boring A.M. teli instead another stunning travelogue 😀😀🥰 many thanks to you both Jealous though...use to love walking in the great outdoors ...the mind is willing but knees aren't 😁...so keep posting please Jan Adelaide
Thanks for this video.. Great stuff..i went to Wick some years ago the drive in the highlands was stunning so beautiful..i remember it being broad daylight at 11.45 pm incredible..thanks once again..
Steve you have shown us all what an amazing part of the world Scotland is. No need to go abroad when Scotland is on our door step.. enjoy all your video s. Thanks
Another great video Steve. As a boy, my Mum and Dad had a touring caravan and we would always stay near Tain, for two weeks every Summer. We would explore the area and visited Wick more than once. I love the North of Scotland. A number of years ago, I had a stay in a residential caravan, at Embo, near Dornoch. Thanks for this great tour, it stirred up some great memories.
Thankyou for another fabulous video. These have become the highlight of our week and so much so, that we've become a Patreon supporter so you can keep bringing us a little of Scotland, Down Under. Much cheers to you and Alicja from us, Graeme & Helen
Thanks so much to you both! It’s super appreciated and generosity like that will keep the channel going in a good direction, thanks again so much from us both! 😊
Well done Steve, l thurly enjoyed your video, but some parts looked very scary, but Scotland definitely has great places to visit, take care till l watch your next video.
Oh wow - simply stunning. We so enjoy seeing your travels -the kind of adventures we love. Very inspirational. Thank you so much. Music was brilliant too!
Some stunning scenery the boat ride gives a very diffrent angle to the coastline. You would need to turn the loo round, so when youre sat down you can see the view.🚽 I hope the flight crew were not the ones from the other week miserable sods. 🤣 great video 2x👍
That was a great video loved it. Whalligoe steps are famous amongst 'Chris Walks the Uk' fans as it's where he met Kate who joined him for the last 3 yrs of his walk during which they had a baby! I have a rellie up there in Lybster, I will go, bucket list! Thanks again for a great watch.
When "Stunning" doesn´t say half but is the only thing you can think of because you're stunned. Man, that was a load of beautiful places! 😳 Thanks for that, mate! 🤗
Brilliant video, we are off to Thurso in April. We are always looking for new things to see and do in Caithness and intended spending time in Wick but I think we might be spending a bit more time than we thought. Thanks again.
Thank you! Words just do not cover the wonderful experience this video has given me - an old lady nearly housebound.

Alicja and boat trips always bring your videos to another level. Alicja's Scottish accent is coming on grand as well. How well can she say yasss?
Haha you're so right, I love hearing the wee bit Scottish creep into her accent :)

I love looking at historical pictures from the past, those ones you pointed out looking incredible. Great Yarmouth had similar along the wall just over from the theme park but sadly they were badly vandalised.

What a stunning video. I had a mate from John O' Groats but he never told me about this. I do remember he regarded Wick as the big town, though!
Some stunning scenery the boat ride gives a very diffrent angle to the coastline.
You would need to turn the loo round, so when youre sat down you can see the view.🚽
I hope the flight crew were not the ones from the other week miserable sods. 🤣 great video 2x👍
Haha managed to avoid them thankfully :)
Wunderbar! Fantastich! Bellisimo! Aye! 😄🙏🏴🇮🇪🙋

Thanks for that, mate! 🤗
I use that word a lot too :)
Brilliant video, we are off to Thurso in April. We are always looking for new things to see and do in Caithness and intended spending time in Wick but I think we might be spending a bit more time than we thought. Thanks again.
Yes, I'd love to see more Bothies. You guys are awesome. Love your videos 😊
What coastal grandeur! One place in the area which intriques me is the Castle of Mey, the Queen Mother's home which she renovated many years ago.
Smashing Steve! Wick and the coast are on our list and you showed us why. And the daffodils everywhere! My favorite flower...Thanks!
They do look amazing in the fields :) Cheers Russ!
