It's interesting that though you studied design your projects are really in the tradition of found sculpture. There is always a great sense of whimsy in your pieces; that they actually function is like a surprise enclosed in an amusing shell.
"Functional Sculpture" is, I think, the best way to describe your work.

Same thing happened to me lately, I'm building a tiny house and at this point I was just tired and thinking of all the things I had to do made me anxious, because I wanted to do everything at the same time and I couldn't rest because all these things were on my head. I finally just let go on the problems on the inside of the house I couldn't resolve and decided to let my brain rest while doing the outside hoping after some times I'll be ready again to solve these inside problems. It was like a knot in my brain and letting go and give myself some time untied it. Although I put some order in my head and made things step by step even if was little step. Don't give yourself so much pressure, take the time you need, all of this is a marathon not a sprint. Great built requires great patience.

I would go with underfloor heating, it runs at a lower temperature than central heating, i know in Germany you are phasing out oil and gas heating, so an air source heat pump might be the best option
Underfloor heating should be less damaging to the wooden structure because it runs cooler, you don't have a hot radiator next to it
Toastie posicles ? awesome idea, put a stick in each half (one at side, one at front of each) to reduce weight, less risk if falling off ;)

I think with projects this huge, it's a good idea to focus on bite-sized pieces of it so you can complete them one by one without overwhelming yourself and still getting the "I finished a thing!" fix.

I really needed to see this video. Its so easy to get stuck for me when you get stalled on something and watching you go through it helps me see it in myself. I am so thankful for this channel. Sending lots of love. Can't wait to see your project get started again!

Best post-apocalyptic toaster I've ever seen.
Good luck on the house. It will be easy better this time.

The toastie on a stick is either brilliance or madness ~ I’ve had these similarly brilliant/weird ideas when procrastinating and overwhelmed and I love seeing them made reality. It’s much better than crying (which is what I end up doing on those days :P)

My advice for trying to get back into a really big job like this... host a (BYO plate) BBQ there, and invite as many friends and family as possible, and have a working bee, or if there aren't things they can help with yet, have a sign up calendar, for days they are happy to come and help -- then if they are coming in two weeks, you've got a deadline, which always gets me motivated -- and if there is a steady stream of friendly helpers coming, it will feel like fun instead of drudgery. -- you've got this!

In your last video you mentioned that small house living has been you experience in the past years. I can understand why Lise Lotta may be huge and overwhelming. However, the work you are doing on the house is really amazing. I know you will be so happy when it is finished.

That was awesome!! I love how your brain works, great job!! My favorite boss would say, when I procrastinated or just didn’t want to do something, “Put your big girl pants on!” …. Love that saying and sometimes its a great motivator!!😊😊😊

Laura cranking the scooter starter continuosly and then saying "Its about to start" while the starter continues to click in the background is absolutely Peak comedy lmao

It's weird, the house updates make me very aware of time passing, more than the months or the date... love th videos as always Laura thank you for being you!

Hi Laura :) you’ll probably never read my comment, but I’ll give it a shot anyway.
I am going through a bit of a tough time, and your videos really make the difference to me. I have always something to look forward to on Sunday, 20 minutes during which I just laugh and forget about everything that is happening around me. I am extremely thankful for this.

Thank you guys for the video. It must be challenging to consistently put out these videos but I appreciate you. I have my own projects that I procrastinate on and it's nice to know others do, too. Have a great week!

Thank you Laura for helping me realise the many ways I procrastinate on a daily basis. And I didn't even know I was doing it.
