    Most informative video I’ve found on this topic! I have a 2006 LC 4.2TD (HDJ100) with 1HDFTE engine. Had a transmission leak but no competent technician who works on auto transmissions nearby. The local dealer says they replace and do not repair. I finally got the leak repaired and ended up having the gearbox overfilled and now have serious shift shock shifting out of 1st and 2nd gears. Wish I had seen this sooner!

    Your transmission videos are top notch, ive got the A750F toyota in my FJ and ive watched ALL OF YOUR videos on this topic. What are your thoughts on a total fluid dump and refill. I do not like using the term flush because of the possibility of harming the internal parts?. Ive seen other videos on this topic of dropping a quart and adding a quart? Your thoughts? Thanks M8

      hi, in my opinion its unnecessary unless you have coolant in the trans fluid. whatever comes out during normal filter service is adequate to bump up the trans fluid properties. you would be wise to bypass the radiator/heat exchanger to eliminate possibility of coolant entering trans and i always like to add additional magnets to help collect magnetic debris to keep away from solenoids. a regular service and best quality fluid you can afford. cheers

    To do a full flush inc torque converter can you disconnect the lines at the trans cooler and incrementally purge fluid and top up as you go I used this method on a Triton and it worked well I am always concerned that a lot of contaminated trans fluid is left in the system and you are really only diluting it with the new fluid Best Regards Alan

    Hi there. Great video. Very helpful. Could you please clarify if it's more important for the vehicle to be on level ground or for the top of the pan to be level when setting fluid level? Also, I'm having trouble getting the ATF hot enough. Can I clamp the transmission cooler hose or will that cause back pressure problems? Cheers, Rodney.

    • @YepThatsIt

    These are the same transmissions in the triton MQ, NOT sure if A750 E or F .. would you recommend sump gasket replace everytime??
    Not to be padantic but the oil check you did was still pouring not dripping for oil level. A bit of overfill is ok. ??

    • @YepThatsIt
      @YepThatsIt  11 месяцев назад

      hi, level depends on the temp you are checking at. if you are checking at the upper temp range the trickle should be less or thinner stream. also bear in mind if the vehicle tows or trans runs hotter than usual have the fluid level at the lower end to allow for the fluid expansion as it warms up. cheers
