I love this episode. It's my second favorite. My first is Amanda Oneill and the holy grail. This episode and Sucy herself remind me of Raven trom Teen Titans and the episode "Nevermore." Though, Sucy is mischievous which is the key difference between the two. Raven is not a trickster.
Is it wrong to say that Sucy reminds me of Tsuyu Asui/Froppy from My Hero Academia if she were a goth girl? I mean, both Tsu and Sucy sound similar in both movement and speech in a way.
Im not even a fan of Sucy but i have to say that this episode was the best. It has everything between comedy, characters intecartion, spookiness, even romance (lul) and does it very very well.
Words Maybe This is a fantastic video. I completely agree with your analysis. Sucy is my top favorite witch in this series; I'm also fond of Amanda - she has that firey spirit and rebellious personality. I also like Conztance; she does look cute, but the main reason as to why she's such an appealing character to me is the technology, something this world has that I have cherished since birth. I have a soft spot for Diana, too; she come from a long family of magic, thereby making her one the most talented and intellectual characters in the series. But, really, Sucy's personality and brutal honesty is really appealing to guys like me. Part of me wonders is she'd be interested in any of the Alien or Predator franchises (and maybe the crossovers, as well).
I can't believe how underrated this channel is. I hope you can gain some more subscribers, because this was an amazing analysis of one of my favorite shows!
stephanie h. Thank you so much. I'm happy to be creating content people enjoy and I believe success will come with more quality work. Really aiming to make a living off this.
omg, this is such an amazing analysis of "Akko's Adventure in Sucyworld", I never really thought of it that way. I really enjoyed watching My Little Witch Academia.
Little Witch Academia is FULL of reference, I ain't joking. Noteable reference is Dumbo when Akko turned into elephant with metamorphosis magic, star wars in one of the few last episodes (light saber used by Prof. Ursula). Even in this video, OP mentioned a lot of reference. So chances are, what you just said could be intentional.
Wish I could like this video twice. Can't believe at the time of writing this, the video is at 3k views. Keep doing what you are doing and your channel will grow hugely!
I'm really happy this video is in my recommendation, you storytell and explain that episode really well (and i mostly agree to all of your words). You got a new subscribe today.
I adore this episode. This is almost exactly how I've imagined my mind working for most of life. Right down to the evangelion angel that forms when I don't deal with my own shit.
this is the video that made me subscribe to you. fantastic, concise analysis that hits all the points, and i love studio trigger! keep up the good work!!
It's up there for me. Certainly one of my favorite singular stories in the LWA universe. Might be topped by Enchanted Parade though, which I watched for the first time a week ago.
Did anyone else catch the Akira reference during the drive-in theater scene? When it cuts to the dark, apocalyptic part, there's a shot of Lotte being squished between the mushrooms. I'm POSITIVE that scene is referencing Akira when Kaori was crushed to death by Tetsuo as he mutates. That was the biggest reference I caught actually, and I haven't seen anyone else mention it!
I feel like "different sides" mostly interesting to see on a silent and closed-off people in general. Most of the out-going are pretty much have their major sides exposed
By some weird chance this was the first episode of LWA I ever watched. It is the reason I got into the series. I instantly fell in love with Sucy, for a while her name was the only character name I remembered. She remains my favorite character.
I love this episode and it cemented Sucy as my favorite character. Her mind works like mine just with mushrooms instead of regular trees and I'm.. well a guy.
I still can't tell if it was a dream or reality. Can someone answer that for me? I love this episode. It is literally "anime Inception." The cartoon equivalent is Alice in Wonderland and "A single pale rose" from su...and maybe perchance to dream from batman tas. And obviously nevermore from teen titans. It also reminded me of Mushroom Kingdom from Mario. Such a trippy and fun episode. And that monster is Nightmare fuel and actually terrified me and im not easily scared.
Wow! Love the video! You analyzed everything so well!! I can't believe this channel is so underrated. You deserve better. Keep up the good work! From now on, I'm here to support you.
I also noticed the Star Wars reference, and there was another moment when Chariot used her wand like a lightsaber (even sounded like one) 😂 During the Sleeping Beauty kiss moment with Akko, you see the dragon have hearts in her eyes, and it made me realize Sucy might have some developing romantic feelings for Akko. It explains why Sucy has a desire to tease and torment her friend, but still think of Akko as a treasured friend. Most of her memories in the drive thru scene were of Akko, and her special memory was when they first met. I think Sucy’s feelings are also admiration (like how Lotte admires Akko), but some hints throughout the anime make me wonder 🤔 Especially since the anime doesn’t shy away from LGBT content (like the cupid bee episode, which was hilarious 😂).
1:00 I don’t think she didn’t used Akko as an experiment because her as a powerful witch would be dangerous, it was because she didn’t wanted her to be good at it and follow her dream lol
I actually HATE this character so much but in the end I actually like her now. When I looked at her character design I expect to be a Tsundere, Edgy, Depressing kind of person but no she's actually a Mischievous, Cynical, Edgy kind of person I don't care if my opinion is bad Sucy looks depressing to me just saying. I also hate the fact that she makes fun of the protagonist. Sure Akko is annoying but she's naive & I don't want her to be treated that way. But like I said I like Sucy at Episode 13-25 So no fret.
I feel like "different sides" mostly interesting to see on a silent and closed-off people in general. Most of the out-going ones pretty much have their major sides exposed already
I actually love all dream episodes in general. It might be cool if you did a video about dream episodes in anime and how anime actually does them really well
Quite a few anime are influenced by western media and vice versa. I think such just speaks to the fact that the best in any medium aren't just influenced by the medium they work within. Perfect example, everything Shinichiro Watanabe has created. Self referential culture is something anime struggles heavily with, but busts out of on occasions and the results are impressive.
Really good video, tho there was one more thing about Sucyworld; the end of the scene with the dragon. The dragon as you said was made out of Sucy's subconscious impulses, and we saw what one of those impulses was when Akko was re-enacting the "waking sleeping beauty scene". The Dragon eye's changed into hearts and it then got sad when original Sucy pushed Akko away instead of allowing herself to be kissed by Akko. Yes, one of her hidden impulses she wanted to snuff off was the desire to kiss Akko, and her subconscious was visibly sad that the kiss didn't happen. What does it say about her if she is suppressing gay thoughts about her friends? (also, the size of that dragon also implies how big the impulse itself was)
Huh, didn't pick up on that. That is interesting. I'm working on a video for Enchanted Parade and will probably be able to use this. Thanks for pointing that out.
Don't worry, and feel free to use it if you find it useful. Tbh, I didn't see it myself until after I watched that scene a second time, and there are tons of sneaky stuff like that both in the series as well in their game Chamber of Time with.... varied results of subtly.
I believe that is also the reason we NEVER get the name for the Sucy with Flowers. Specifically, the ones she holds are lily flowers, also known in Japanese as "Yuri" flowers, a flower type that has become iconic in lesbian manga/anime. Not only that but, on top of the fact that the bridge scene where they met takes on a much more serious tone that before, it leads me to believe that this Sucy, is the part of her that has grown feelings for Akko. And like most of us would do with any unwanted crush, Sucy's mind attempts to stop it. But Akko instead saves the Yuri Sucy, allowing that "would be" fleeting thought of romance, to manifest itself, becoming larger and slowly taking over Sucy's mind. And then we come to the dragon scene where, out of seemingly no where, the dragon stops rampaging when it sees Akko attempting to kiss Sucy, where we see it visibly happy (and then visibly sad) about it. While it could all have just been a long-winded comedic gag of an outlandish romance, I still think it's an AMAZING representation of how we all are on the inside, and how crushes and affection change how we think so vastly.
I interpreted the entire scene with the dragon like this; Sucy is started to realise she's might be starting to develop romantic feelings for one of her friends, so she's trying hard to suppress them back into her subconscious (I mean, that much is clear) because she's afraid that telling them would unleash a monster which would destroy everything - a.k.a. destroy her relationship with Akko, one of the few friends she has at Luna Nova. If anything, combined with your observation about the flower @Claptrap, then the entire scene would mean that Sucy is struggling to come to terms with her own sexuality. And yes, the tone shift at their first meeting is very romanticized because that's how she remembers it after she got to know Akko; it's one of her most treasured memories. The series are full of subtle nuances and I'm glad you caught something I didn't notice myself, tho I'm a bit sad that the anime didn't include the manga reason why Akko agrees to be Sucy's guinea pig with her mushroom experiments - which was slightly horrifying.
I never actually got a chance to read the manga, so I do kinda want to know the reason why she's okay with the potion testing. Or at the very least, if you know a place I can read the manga that'd also be appreciated. But as for the scene, I entirely agree with you, and that's essentially the same way interpreted it as well. I have to admit, I absolutely LOVED the symbolism in this episode, and all the subtle hints and nudges hidden everywhere. It truly is one of my favorite episodes, and I'm really hoping the series gets picked up for a third season.
I never thought there would be a day when You tube actually recommends me something worth watching.
BlueFoxTV Ha. Thanks. Much appreciated.
No problem. You did a fantastic job of analyzing one of my favorite episodes of the series.
BlueFoxTV yeah one of the best episodes
I truly agree
One of my favorite episodes. It showed Akko as a comical character and a hero at the same time.
That, and it was just a fun episode where the animators were just going crazy and having fun making it.
Agree XD
Completely lost it when the dragon reacted to the kissing attempt, holy shit that was funny
I mean I'd ship it.
I still think about the heart in the dragons eye and I start laughing.
This was easily LWA best episode. I just love insanity this episode brought. Also agree on the different aspect part.
jgames111 coff coff ep 20
"Akko, did you put your name in the goblet of fire?" Diana asked calmly
This episode reminded me of a Dr. Seuss book
Wouldn't surprise me if Dr. Seuss influenced Trigger in any capacity.
Or...
Dr.*sucy*?
Words Maybe
I felt the same but also I felt that TRIGGER influenced by Bob Clambett & Chuck Jones in their animation style.
In short the reason why this episode was so great was Sucy. I can accept that
Imagine if she did make Akko drink it and she went into Akkoworld instead
Oh god no
That would be to insane
I love this episode. It's my second favorite. My first is Amanda Oneill and the holy grail.
This episode and Sucy herself remind me of Raven trom Teen Titans and the episode "Nevermore."
Though, Sucy is mischievous which is the key difference between the two. Raven is not a trickster.
True, Raven is my favourite Teen Titan but I never knew that she was a lot like Sucy
Is it wrong to say that Sucy reminds me of Tsuyu Asui/Froppy from My Hero Academia if she were a goth girl? I mean, both Tsu and Sucy sound similar in both movement and speech in a way.
this deserves more views
mμse -sama I concur.
Im not even a fan of Sucy but i have to say that this episode was the best. It has everything between comedy, characters intecartion, spookiness, even romance (lul) and does it very very well.
"Of my friends im the sarcastic asshole"
My personality explained in one sentence
Watching that episode I was thinking to myself, "I came here for the laughs, not the deep psychology".
Really well made and funny episode.
I like sucy
Ya same

WHO ELSE CAUGHT THE TRANSFORMERS REFERENCE?! IRONHIDE!!!
Awesome avatar!
rust in pieces... :(
Thank you I was wondering who else caught it
I can't believe how underrated this channel is. I hope you can gain some more subscribers, because this was an amazing analysis of one of my favorite shows!
stephanie h. Thank you so much. I'm happy to be creating content people enjoy and I believe success will come with more quality work. Really aiming to make a living off this.
Hell, this is a great video pal, really like it.
Thanks. Happy to see another person enjoys it.
Mushrooms in Sucyworld reminds me of Laguna in the Philippines (Laguna is known as the Mushroom Capital of the Philippines.)
Did you notice, in the movie they were watching, one of the last shots is a AKIRA reference :) (when Lotte gets smothered by mushrooms)
8:58-9:04 LOL! I laughed so hard on that part!
I love this show English subbed so I was really sad when I didn’t have Netflix anymore😢😢😢😭😭😭
Damn. I absolutely love that Your Name reference.
omg, this is such an amazing analysis of "Akko's Adventure in Sucyworld", I never really thought of it that way. I really enjoyed watching My Little Witch Academia.
Sucy Manbavaran = Raven/Rachel Roth.
Also, is it just me or does LWA's theme sound like a Disney theme? It's so awesome and epic.

I'm really happy this video is in my recommendation, you storytell and explain that episode really well (and i mostly agree to all of your words). You got a new subscribe today.
dang, this is a good video, good job
The sucy monster must be a reference to envy from Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood.
nah, it's very clearly an Eva reference.all the more apropos since Imaishi and Yoshinari had their biggest break working on it
Can we remember that episode where the principal said "poor unfortunate souls"?
I had a Who Framed Rodger Rabbit vibe from this one.
Akko’s bizarre adventures
I like how it shows the id super ego and ego of sucy
I adore this episode. This is almost exactly how I've imagined my mind working for most of life. Right down to the evangelion angel that forms when I don't deal with my own shit.
I love her. She's so awesome. My second favorite behind amanda o'neill. And this is my third favorite episode of the show.
this is the video that made me subscribe to you. fantastic, concise analysis that hits all the points, and i love studio trigger! keep up the good work!!
This was my fav episode
When Sucy is able to rappresent Inside’s out is 24 minutes xD
I so did not realize the Maleficent and Prince Phillip reference lol
Actually my favorite episode :)
It's up there for me. Certainly one of my favorite singular stories in the LWA universe. Might be topped by Enchanted Parade though, which I watched for the first time a week ago.
Exactly
I have a feeling that lazy sucy is supposed to represent Zhuangzi.
I am unfamiliar with this. Will have to look it up.
Nah I think it represents me
Kinda reminds me of Aizawa from MHA
Wait lazy susy isn't supposed to be us-
Did anyone else catch the Akira reference during the drive-in theater scene? When it cuts to the dark, apocalyptic part, there's a shot of Lotte being squished between the mushrooms. One of my favourite ever cartoon episodes of anything. It's so funny and wrapped up in a really sincere message. Trigger are the best! Great video
I've watched this video way too many times. I just love it.
That was well thought out!
pretty similar to the teen titans episode when they saw the different sides of raven.
lol
I feel like "different sides" mostly interesting to see on a silent and closed-off people in general. Most of the out-going are pretty much have their major sides exposed

Sucy Manbavaran ist mein favorite character
Well in my favourite's is
1. Constanze
2. Akko/Atsuko kagari
3. Sucy
4. Lotte
5. Amanda
6. Ursula/Shiny Chariot

This episode made me ship the two so hard.
Riley Hendricks
Same
PumkinSwift no, diakko
Same.. but I only shipped them until the episode "Cavendish" then I got on the Diakko train with the hundreds of other people who are on it.
This episode is probably my favorite one. It’s awesome
i could eat up this analysis video for breakfast seven times a week
I love this episode and it cemented Sucy as my favorite character. Her mind works like mine just with mushrooms instead of regular trees and I'm.. well a guy.
Omg yes!! Sucy crew forever! This video is amazing thank you!
I still beliving the whole episode was a Psychedelyc trip, i can relate all personality issues in that episode with my experience on LSD.
the 31 people that disliked this video hate sucy. exist to agree
Damn that was deep! I really appreciate that take on my favorite episode~
One of the best episodes. Reminds me a bit of Rick & Morty.
9:14 Diana will have to teach Akko how to kiss before they attempt to do so
I still can't tell if it was a dream or reality. Can someone answer that for me?

From now on, I'm here to support you.
1:50 I love how the lip flaps align
Love Sucy💜
Akko x Sucy!!! Basta shipp Forever!
This episode reminds me so much of the Teen Titans episode where Cyborg & Beast Boy delve into Raven's mind
I also noticed the Star Wars reference, and there was another moment when Chariot used her wand like a lightsaber (even sounded like one) 😂

I am also that sarcastic booty hole that takes any opportunity I can get to tease a friend 😂😅
I love this
that episode reminded me on Teen Titans, when Beast Boy and Cyborg are into Raven´s mind and meeting all her emotions. xD
Lazy sucy is my waifu
Sucy is the kind of friend who’d laugh if you fell off a cliff, she’d probably push you off it
Ah yes. My favorite episode of LWA 17 (alongside with episode 4)
This was my fave episode. lol.
7:13 That visual is hilarious, but painfully true.
Must be late but in the last scene of the episode a mushroom appears on the bed.
7:35 this reference in 1930s and also toon bendy in Joey Drew Studio or 1930's mickey mouse & Felix the Cat & cuphead

Akkos bizzare adventure
sucy piramyd heat
Nobody gonna talk about how the monster looking spider Sucy is scary as fuck? Okay.
I actually HATE this character so much but in the end I actually like her now. Oh, I see you are a man of culture as well
Family Friendly version of Citadel of Ricks
I feel like "different sides" mostly interesting to see on a silent and closed-off people in general. Most of the out-going ones pretty much have their major sides exposed already
This was a pretty good video about why Sucy is objectively best character.
I actually love all dream episodes in general. It might be cool if you did a video about dream episodes in anime and how anime actually does them really well
I love Sucy, but Amanda is one of my favourites
Reminds me about that chapter in the Teen Titans in Raven's mind.
Plane crazy was the first Mickey Mouse cartoon.
Wow this video was really great!
Every single reference went through my head until people told me what they were.
I guess I'm not as cult as I thought
Even Obi Wan's but because this is an anime and I never thought they would put something western in it, and also the scene crosses too fast
Mushroom queen! Mushroom queen! Mushroom queen!
sucy is my true spirit animal I honestly think LWA shouldn't end,EP 8 was my favourite
akko and sucy is the ultimate ship. if akko and andrew end up together, in the next seasons, i will cry...
Really good video, tho there was one more thing about Sucyworld; the end of the scene with the dragon. The dragon as you said was made out of Sucy's subconscious impulses, and we saw what one of those impulses was when Akko was re-enacting the "waking sleeping beauty scene".

Official Language of Sucyworld
Tagalog and English (JK just English)
I just learned dragon susy has heart eyes when Akko is going to kiss Sucy
I kinda find this convenient. This is what exactly I’m looking for.

Ok
As an artist I need some inspiration for my next project.
This whole episode was a Teen Titans reference.
