My son and I watched this last night, and we laughed so hard. Fabulous movie. Funny: Amazon Prime noted this movie is recommended for people over 18 due to smoking, alcohol use, and sexual content. What a bunch of schoos.
I think ANCHORS AWEIGH is a better movie; Gene Kelly does a lot more dancing -- specifically the two fantasy sequences, and Frank Sinatra sings more. I find Betty Garrett annoying in ON THE TOWN, and they should have had someone other than Jules Munshin as the third sailor to Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra. The 'big' number-- "A Day in New York"-- is surprisingly dull design-wise. The best thing about ON THE TOWN is the location photography which the stars take a back seat to.
