I would have to agree that for most players waiting until the console release would be worth it as CO has promised performance improvements and we're bound to get issue patches. The workshop will also be online which will provide a lot of new tools and toys to help with city beautification and customization. The game is a lot of fun. I like that it's not as easy. With CS1, once you got your city established you really didn't have to worry about money. CS2 still has some planning required. There are a ton of neat new systems and assets that really make the game worth it. I'll be really curious to see where the game is a few months from now. Running with a 3070 and the game has been very playable at 100k pop so far. I do see some odd texture behavior when zooming in close though which is worse at higher texture quality settings.
The dynamic scale resolution needs to be disabled in graphics to rid the glitches. But yeah, the economic system needs work and it just needs a lot more content. City Skylines One with a decade of adds on and mods is going to be hard to beat.
Paradox is the publisher, and they sell games in pieces over years. We should expect the game to not be complete after several DLCs and patches over the next few years.
Only issue with this game for me is the constant stutter when moving around map it’s worse when zoomed in close to street level. My specs 3070 FE Ryzen7 5800x3d 32gb of 3200hz DDr4 ram
It's good. 2070S, i9-9700K and after tweaking the options I'm getting fine performance. And I'm having a good time. If you want a city-builder but either (1) haven't played CS1 or (2) didn't get any/many of the DLCs then I'd recommend doing that first. I'd be cheaper and you'd have a more robust game play experience with a huge modding community to support you. If you're done with CS1 and you want a tougher challenge on a framework that is only going to get better then perhaps CS2 is right up your alley.
I remember back in high school when I first bought CIV you helped me learn the game so much. Nowadays I play competitive multiplayer CIV with the better balance game mod. Have you ever looked into the multiplayer scene with the better balance game mod?
For me, as a W&R:SR player, there is just no content in CS2 right now because of the mechanics aimed for faking the city to look busy. Like, what's the point in that new robust road building system if your city can work on a single central two-lane road and there is no point in managing the traffic.
HMMM was thinking of learning a New game BUT instead of leaning this new game ill learn cinema 4d 3d animation & go back to Civ 6 when i do want to game
I have a 2080ti and get smooth performance (I have not tested the framerate, so possibly ~30fps) with a 50k city at 4k resolution with fairly high graphic settings (but with v-sync, motion blur and DoF disabled).
I agree the game is totally broken it's a disgrace why has it been over a week since release and NO new updates? what in one week they have not been able to fix any of the hundreds of bugs ? they need to higher like a hundred new Devs
good to see you back Saxy

Hope you will continue to make Civ 6 content! :)

Parking needs to be sorted. I think once the Traffic Manager comes online for this game, the game's traffic will be even more fun to work with.
I’m waiting to buy this when the performance issues are improved. Right now it’s just not worth the price. Still enjoying CS1!

Is it any good? Yeah, I guess. Is it better than C:S1? No. Is it worth its price? No. Is it a worthy successor for such a beloved franchise? No.
