I'm super excited to be learning this stuff. This will help me so much at my job. I can't believe the amount of time that this ten minutes will save me! Thanks, again!
Life saver, I have been trying to get my hands on a quick reference lamenated thing, most college bookstores have em for all subjects..EXCEPT EXCEL. One of the hardest, and its midterm time, my teacher has not done well breaking down excel for me so that i understand it. I am good at math. So thank you!! Very helpful
Excellent and well explained in a straightforward and friendly way. I have an Excel exam at work next week so watching these tutorials closely! Thanks for you help. I learn more quickly watching a demo than reading books.
I don't know why you would unsubscribe. That wasn't me that commented but another viewer of this video. I'm glad I could help you out. Thanks for watching.
An Alebraic explanation for the problem below: A*B + A*C = A*(B + C) In the example below A would be 3000, B would be 1 (which is 100%) and C would be 0.15 (which is 15%). Hope this helps for those who are getting started. I found that I learned better when I understood rather than raw memorization. Have a great day!
I really liked and appreciated this video and the ones before this one. I am going to try to get a job and they want you to have experience with Excel. This was very helpful and I want to look up the rest of your videos. I can understand the way that you explain. It doesn't seem difficult the way you explain it.
I hate math and am totally intimidated by it. But this is easy enough for even a MathPhobe like me! I'm a subscriber and plan to watch every one of your tutorials! Thank you so much!
Saved my ass, new job, let them know I had excel skills and was okay with the format but never used excel before 💀 now I feel confident for my first day ty
Good video introduction...minus the typing errors your presentation is well done, but I wish you would cover all of the different ways of doing Excel tasks and include explanations of the all the tabs! (File, Home, Page Insert, Formulas, etc) So this way you get us working with a spreadsheet like your boat rentals, but at the same time, review the various options up top so it's more of a two-fold crash course covering more.
A brief explanation: A 15% increase means 15% (0.15) increase over the original 100% (1). Orig Statement: 3000 + 3000*(.15) [you can factor 3000 out of the original statement, which then becomes 3000 * (1 + .15) = 3000* (1.15) = 3450; Similarly, if someone said a 10% decrease, then you can do 100% - 10% = 90% of the original value; (1 - .1)=0.9 * 3000 = 2700]. * means multiply in the computer world! We don't use "x" because that is a letter. Similarly " / " is used for division.
You're right. But in excel he wants it to show the total from the previous month. If you were to say 3000*0.15 the april cell would only show the increase of 450. So 3000*1.15 would show the initial amount of 3000 plus the 15% increase of 450. So 3450.
***** It is simple. Giving example, you have $30 in the bank. After one year, your money increased by 2%. Find the total money you have after one year in ur bank account. So the increase amount will be $30x0.02=$0.6. So you gained 0.6 plus the original money in ur bank = 30+0.6 = 30.6 is ur total money after one year. There is another way to calculate this in one calculation: Take the first amount and times 1.02 = 30x1.02= 30.6. It's a shortcut for finding total amount. If it gains 4%, take 30x1.04. If it is 20% take 20x1.2. Don't look at my comment, I'm just trying to point out what he says does not match what he does so that others won't confuse. But he did a pretty good damn job in the video there.
Looks like you need to brush up on your typing skills AND people skills. I said you were dishonest, you said I was an ass. Funny. Conversely, thank you Subjectmoney for taking the time for creating these tutorials and helping people out.
OH i think i figured it out...the increase would be 450 then that added onto the 3000...but how do you get the figure 1.15? oh this is so embarrassing lol

I love how you present this info. The one thing I would say is that you sometimes do not say what you are clicking to make something happen.

Thanks
yep...
God for you
I low tech.Thank for tutorial :)
15% increased supposed to be *0.15 but anyway I think it's hard to focus while talking on utube. Ur tutorial is awesome.

He wants the original with 15% increase so it's *1.15
If you do *0.15 you get 15% from the original.

If you multiplied 3000 by only .15 then you would get 450. If you multiplied 3000 by 1.15 you would get 3450 which is 3000 plus 15% of 3000.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD CLOSE THAT FLASHING UAC
Adel adil Make it stop please! Ahhh!
I can't unsee it!
so if 15% is written as 1.15, would 26% be written as 1.26?.. what does the 1 represent?
. Thank you
good day everyone, question? if every two months the %15 increase. should i put 2.15 and so on? thank you. more power.. :)
I still don't understand how to do this, but maybe if I get school to help me.
That's fine, I'll subscribe to his channel then. You need to cool it.
Hi, I'm a little confused...maths is not my strongest subject...but for a 15% increase would you not times 3000 by 0.15? :|
sum doesn't work in my excel, i'm using the dutch version of it
When you increased business by 15% - why 1.15 and not just 0.15? is it because excel doesn't recognize the latter?
Kamron K Me too I thought the same!!But he is great THUMBS UP!!!
+Tark Janis Great explanation...
I just imagine the 1 as the 3000 and add the .15% to it...
OH i think i figured it out...the increase would be 450 then that added onto the 3000...but how do you get the figure 1.15? oh this is so embarrassing lol
Wouldn't 15% be .15? 😬
correction: I caught on quickly
Thank you!
