Those are better numbers than the motor I had built back in 2003 which was a 496 stroker 440 (10.5:1) which dyno'd at (going from memory) 576 Hp and around 600 torque with basically stock Edelbrock RPM heads (the Victor heads weren't yet available back then) and a Comp Cams XE295HL hydraulic which at the time was a new grind.
Thanks Robert. I was able to put the cam card at the end of the video. This one is 10.9/1 static. Check out the full build series if you can.
Great job Joe. I have a set of Trickflow heads installed on my 440. Trickflow listed felpro 1009 head gaskets for assembly. Do you think the felpro 1009 gaskets will be a problem in the future? I’m hearing the MLS gaskets are better with aluminum heads. Have you used the felpro gaskets? Any feedback on them?
Thanks Jim. The bigger issue is the chamfer that many blocks can with. Thai engine got the cheaper felpro blue gaskets. It has a wider fire ring that’s spaced back from the bores. I’ve sprayed 150 shot on them!
I predict that Torquer will become wall art after running the Edelbrock RPM manifold.
I’ll do the best comparison I can. I did not use the spacer on the rpm, so I will only show the comparison without it on both intakes.
Find a real nice old 77 Cordoba and put that engine in. The boys down at the drag strip would be scratching their heads.🏆👍
