I hear exactly what you're saying, and unlike RWBY, the teased F/F content between the two girl main characters doesn't feel like tacted on, ship-baitey garbage meant to attract rabid LGBT fans. (and I say this while feeling Chai and Korsica have way more chemistry).
If you talk to the robots near the entrance to the museum, they refer to it as "processing", some of them hating how much they have to eat. So basically they're processing the food for someone else to eat but for them it's like a job to eat Don't think about it too hard, this isn't that kind of game.
Can someone please explain to me what the whole scene of Chai sitting on the couch with the spotlight on him, and with his ipod swinging in the air ment to be referencing? Is this a sort of music thing?

@@LucasTheBoi Apologies for my confusion. I never got to play Xeno games before 2021 as I accidentally got Xenoblade Chronicles 1: Definitive Edition for my birthday and quickly got hooked. If possible I will experience Xenogears and Xenosaga.

Xenogears, an old Square Enix game.
It’s a near perfect match to the point where the devs of Hi-Fi Rush asked for permission to do it.
The creators of Xenogears also created Xenoblade, which you are more likely to be familiar with thanks to the character's inclusion into Smash
