  • Cape Town, South Africa - 9 April 2024: Hundreds of Muslims gathered at the Sea Point Promenade to pray, break their fast and observe the sighting of the moon, which marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The Crescent Observers Society in conjunction with the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) announced that the moon had not been sighted and therefore Eid al-Fitr would be celebrated on Thursday 11 April.
