Great video. I went to Florence in August this year. It was indeed raging hot, 40 Celsius +, but that didn’t adversely impact our visit. We stayed in Florence for 10 days, in a Airbnb just off Piazza St Marco - superb location. We flew into Pisa and got the train to Florence. We spent many days exploring Florence and still didnt see everything. Also visited Rome twice by train - 90 mins journey time. We went back into Pisa to see the tower. The food everywhere was absolutely fabulous and was offset by all the walking we did. Wonderful place.
Great information! We’ve visited Firenze 5 times in the last 12 years, more recently for two weeks and a full month. Gregor has really done an excellent job with his overview and suggestions. All of them are spot on. Great to hear your recommendations for the Santa Croce and San Niccolo areas - far enough away from large crowds yet offering great restaurants, bars, shopping and living like an Italian.
@@GregorBrown Hi Gregor, you know Firenze very well and the info you’ve provided is certainly of help to new visitors. Bravo! (Ive got a few tips to follow up on myself! Thank you.).
After watching one if your Florence video last year. I went to Florence and it was so easy, as your video explanation is so easy and helpful. Thank you for your time in making this incredible videos 📹.
Gregor, you make a hell of a video. I spent a little time in Florence some years ago and LOVED it, so that gives me a better perspective for seeing how on-target you are with your advice and information in this video. Many thanks, and please keep 'em coming!!
Exiting airport don’t turn right to the taxi rank, turn left to the Tram, cheap, quick, easy. Buy a ticket (€9 I think) before you board. Only a few stops to the station.
1,50 for the tram T2, last stop right at S.M Novella!! It's the same ticket for the bus system, so if you are already planning on buying a lot of those, I suggest the app at bus, the official one where you can get packs of 15 ticks for a cheaper price than many individual ones!
@GregorBrown Cheers. It's not the time of year I had planned originally but just decided the other night ( while having a drink ) to book it. But yeah, seen plenty of games on TV and it's a big game so looking forward to it. 🟪
For pasta making classes, I recommend checking out local cooking schools or Airbnb experiences in Florence. They usually offer a variety of classes that provide a hands-on experience with making authentic Italian pasta. Enjoy! 🍝👩🍳
Planning a trip in Nov 2024 we will have 14 days to visit. Struggling on how many cities to try to see and the regional to target during that time. If you could give some helpful advise it would be great. We were thinking Rome Florence Venice…. Would it be worth heading south for a few days too??
I'm going to Florence in October for 4 days. Would you please suggest an itinerary? Prefer to live like locals thus I'm staying at an airbnb. Would you recommend to book a day trip group tour to explore nearby towns/winery? Or do you have a way for self-guided travelers? I don’t plan to rent a car...thanks!!
We visited Florence in June 25!! It was packed because of the Saint Festival. We enjoyed the visit but for me was too much people around. I follow up with your suggestions, we stayed at an AirB&B just a few steps from the Pitti Palace, we travel from Venezia to Bologna and then Florence. We stayed 5 days and has plenty of time to visit the principals museum’s and churches. And visited Pisa, too. It was great!! The Insurance recommendation is a must!! Staying there our son got sick, but because of the insurance we did an appointment with a doctor and get some prescriptions and he did just fine!!👍🏼
hey hey, happy to hear that all worked out for you, and you had insurance as well to be covered. Yeah, fitting in Pisa is an easy sidetrip from Florence. Glad you had a good time, and sounds like you stayed in my neiborhood!
Yes, entry to the main floor of the Duomo is free, but climbing the dome or visiting other parts like the bell tower requires a ticket. Hope you get to visit it next time! 🇮🇹⛪ check out this video for free entry: ruclips.net/video/yQt6r30xoI4/видео.htmlsi=uuuwTpSC72eJYbfT
I love watching your videos! Very informative hence very helpful! We are planning our Florence trip this summer ,, we are planning to stay for a week I have a question.. is it worth it to get a Florence travel pass? Thank you ❤
I need to watch ALL of your video's for sure - I am thinking of coming when lines are short (end of Sept/early Oct?) But I DO hope you answer a few questions for me. 1) I have some "free" stays I want to use with Hilton - there are 2 outside of Florence. Would you know "if" I go to either one, is there easy transportation to the city center from there? Would you also recommend those to be "out" of the crowded area as you say (I want to just explore tiny streets, etc. where more locals are - OR - should I also do 1/2 of trip very close to the center also? I'm thinking of just doing a few "day" trips (bus) and one day to Pisa (train) - I'd LOVE to hear your thoughts as I will be going solo - Hugs, Yana
I wish I could see your computer to know for sure but you should have the availability to download it as soon as you purchase so I would recommend checking back at the spring store
G'day mate love your work! I have a question for you if you don't mind?.... Coming from Australia for a month through Italy in October is going to be tricky with just carry on, do you know if the main train station in Florence has secure lockers to fit checked baggage?
I can't remember if they do. And if not, I know, there are services near the train station that let you store your luggage and another option I do when I'm traveling. Is if you stay in a hotel in Florence on the first night? Ask them if you can pay them a little money to keep your luggage for the following days or weeks.
Driving to Florence 🚗? For hassle-free parking, consider using one of the many "Park & Ride" lots located on the outskirts of the city and then hop on public transport 🚌 to get into the heart of Florence. The Piazza Michelangelo also offers a great parking spot with a stunning view of the city 🏰, but it can get crowded!
There's a restaurant on the top hill in Florence that is very good for dining with amazing view over the whole city. Price is reasonable ad wine in Florence is so cheap. Coming back soon in a few weeks. Even I go each time for 3 weeks visiting europe countries, I still pack only one carry-on and carry all my essentials, passport, glasses, credit card, sunscreen..,. in a fanny pack across my shoulders to avoid pickpocketing . Very important to feel free and light to enjoy the vacation and be alert the surrounding
I'm super happy to hear that you and your friends are watching all of the content and hopefully it's entertaining and helpful for you and as far as October weather goes it can be hit or miss just depending on the type of season it is

1:56 - Actually Italy does have Uber; at least in Rome they do. Also, there are airport transport options available as well.
In Florence it is essentially non-existent. The taxis rule and they are expensive.

In fact, in Italy you can pick up both Uber and Taxis from the Uber app.
