Forget throwing the ball & how can Sanders be the best RB of all time when he was taken out of Goal line half the time?! Another thing is he danced around so much that he put his team in horrible situations as a result of losing yardage on a consistent basis. You know the Homerun King is also the Strike Out King too right!? And don't give me the, he had a bad offensive line when that's simply not true. @@briannelson6830 Disagree. You don't average 5 YPC and 100 yards per game running "usually backwards for 2-5 yard losses". Yes, Barry lost yardage during his career, 1,114 yards in 153 games, which is about 7.3 yards lost per game. Considering he averaged 100 yards per game in his career, I'd say there was a lot more going forward than backwards. Consider the fact that for the vast majority of his career he was running without a fullback or tight end in front of him and facing 9 men in the box, it's pretty damn easy to see why he lost some yardage. He was hit in the backfield as soon as he took the handoff on a number of occasions. It’s amazing how some of these guys can throw off one, two or even three tacklers, yet also be graceful and fluid in running. They have it all - strength, agility and speed.
The game was greater in person. I was 8 years old and it was my first 49ers game in attendance. Remarkable. Hell, you even got to see an unselfish Owenes block
And you think that since the merger 51 years ago, when the NFL came to be, with Lynch only being the 5th or 6th best back in the league for the majority of his best years, in a weaker running era than Any other, that the 90 or so better backs than him, plus random backs who put up dominant runs, didn't put up NINE better runs, EVER, that were videod, than all his?
I know you'll say something like "if 90 backs are better, why is he 36th all time?" since you have an unwarranted affinity for his not-so-extraordinary talent. There are so many backs like Priest Holmes and Terrell Davis, Bo Jackson, Michael Turner(playing as Tomlinson's backup for Half his career) and even Napoleon Kaufman and Deuce McAllister, who were SO much better than him, who didn't get the same longevity or carries due to injuries or splitting time with stars etc, that ranking him 90th may well be Too High! There were 14 game seasons for decades, during which time nearly all teams featured two and three backs way more than Lynch ever endured. There are dozens of backs who were better overall with their pass-catching combined. Defenses today are SO weak against the run compared to all times past, and rule changes dont even allow for the same violence, etc. So, he's around the 90th best back since 1966.... Is that something to be celebrated with the best EVER? Him BEING on this video twice, as well as Only other backs from the last half of NFL history beside Jim Brown, is Why this video is ridiculous.
5:17 Many RBs can make guys miss. Only Barry Sanders can elude a defense so badly that they don't even know where he is. Look at Tony Casillas (#75) with his back turned to Sanders. I remember Emmitt Smith talking about that play: "Hey Tony, he's already five yards downfield behind you!"
That 90yard Bo Jackson run was nice. A streak of lighting down the sidelines and up the tunnel! Then the next run by Marcus Allen (74 yards) as soon as he saw daylight he turned on the jets. PLAYOFFS WE’RE TALKING ABOUT PLAYOFFS! That’s why I’m here getting pumped for The Playoffs. Go Cowboys!
The Guy I feel like he needed to learn to do that, because his speed isn't the best at all. But his trucking and precise footwork more than make up for it.
Rise Of The Kumquat Al Michaels isn't much better. Check the run at 0:34. Really lame call for a run that long and that unique. In general the NFL broadcasters need to drink a few energy drinks before games or something.

You have LT in here not getting touched..... Chris Johnson during his 2K rushing year had a run where he trucked the mess out a Jaguar & then out ran the competition for 80 yards for a TD..... That should've at least been on the list
WutTheDeuce He got hurt. That first year with the Cardinals would've been great if he hadn't had that injury. Relevancy or not, he was a 2K yard rusher & was up there with AP in talks of best RB in the game at that time. Also, 2K speaks for itself. CJ should have been on the list.
"With an 83-yard touchdown, Johnson broke an NFL record with his fourth rushing touchdown of 80 yards or more" - Wikipedia None of those runs warranted inclusion on this list?
Berry Sanders is and was and always will be the best there ever was at the running back position. There are to many other that come in at a close second.
Barry had the best juke moves but that's it. He wasn't the best overall & most complete RB in history! Walter Payton & Marcus Allen could play any skilled position on Offense & they both did. Barry couldn't block worth snot & at best he was a mediocre pass catcher. Facts are facts. But damn the man could run the rock. Credit exactly where it's due!
@@bigelile07 1984 When both McMahon and Fuller were injured. Walter had 8 td passes over the course of his career. Walter was a better all around player than Sanders. He had 1400 more receiving yards than Barry. Walter sought contact and punished linebackers and DBs. Barry avoided it. Barry was unbelievably nimble and spectacular to watch, no doubt about it. It's a shame that Sanders toiled his whole career in Detroit.
Had Barry Sanders played for the Cowboys and Emmett Smith for the Detroit Lions. Omg. If he would’ve been on that team running behind that line he would’ve put up statistics That wouldn’t even be imaginably possible to break
I think about half of all running backs that ever played would have the all-time record behind that line, no exaggeration. You're talking about two or three Hall of Famers, and the others were perennial pro bowlers for a solid 7 years of Smith's career.
The Marshawn Lynch one ... 0:33, watch how hard number 83 works during the entire play. (Just saw his name is Lockett.) He starts as the top most player at the line - right hand wide receiver position at the line up I guess, but watch how hard he works on the blocking. It's his TD as much as Lynch's.
How can this video exist and not include the John Riggins Superbowl run? What many consider to be one of the most iconic runs in the history of the NFL.
Jordan Walkowiak the guy dragged a man like he was tied to a horse. It was the most dominant run of all time at that moment. By the most dominant RB at that time. It deserved to be one of the last ones shown.
Derrick Henry's 99 yard run has gotta be on the next iteration of this. Blocking got him the first 5-10 yards. Size, power, and a 99 on stiff arm got him the rest of the way.

What? This is the official NFL RUclips channel. They have all of the footage. They don't have to ask anybody for permission. Walter Payton forever!!!
These runs are so good thats even though I KNOW I'm watching a "Touchdown run compilation" I keep thinkin "Nah, they got him" *NOPE*
No Jerome Bettis or Brandon Jacobs? They also left out a lot of other notable legends!
3:55 look at big 74 getting up field to block. That's effort
@@riyariva6893 And 57 getting up there to try to tackle.
It’s amazing how some of these guys can throw off one, two or even three tacklers, yet also be graceful and fluid in running. They have it all - strength, agility and speed.
74 for the 98 49r's is one of the fastest lineman I've ever seen
3:52
The game was greater in person. I was 8 years old and it was my first 49ers game in attendance. Remarkable. Hell, you even got to see an unselfish Owenes block
that's a hell of a sentence
Let's call this what it is. A barry sanders highlight reel. And some other guys who had a couple good runs. Barry is the GOAT
Needs more Sweetness.
And some more Beast Mode
Walter Payton would of done better Rest In Peace
America's Broken Levee he literally had 3 highlights in this video. Take it easy
True. But that Roger Craig run against the Rams is my favorite
No Jerome Bettis or Brandon Jacobs? They also left out a lot of other notable legends!
Gayle Sayers, maybe five more from Walter Payton? Jim Thorpe? Csonka? Edgerrin James?
@TrumpensteinLP
L
That Tomlinson run could've been taken off the list and replaced with a Bettis or Jacobs run. No one even touched Tomlinson on that run.
I was waiting for Bettis
Why are you guys just saying names? Name the particular runs that you have in mind, otherwise your argument is empty and have no proof.
Before watching I better see Marshawn Lynch on here at least twice
Christos Belibasakis your wish will become true
Ryan McElmurry
Triggered much?
Lol bored. I like Lynch. I just like statistical accuracy more.
2:59 vick really made 2 players on the same team run into eachother 😭😂
that was something
I remember seeing that live
They both had the angle on him but Vick put it into another gear and they collided. Awesome.
Some of the all-time greats. As a Tampa fan though would like to see the A train Mike Alstott.
Alstott was great indeed.
A-train. What about Blount
@@danielanderson4011 Oh Blount was good, more atheletic if you ask me. But Alstott is my favorite.
@@davidkoba love Alstotr , my favorite Buc . Blount was a animal , strong at the line, stiff arm on the edge , hurdle you if you come low!!! 😈
@@danielanderson4011 Absolutely agree. Bucs running game has always been my favorite aspect (aside from our Tampa two defense).
Barry Sanders oh my goodness
Aaron Medina madden should do all time lions with Barry and Megatron
5:17 Many RBs can make guys miss. Only Barry Sanders can elude a defense so badly that they don't even know where he is. Look at Tony Casillas (#75) with his back turned to Sanders. I remember Emmitt Smith talking about that play: "Hey Tony, he's already five yards downfield behind you!"
ZhangtheGreat 😂😂😂😂
I chuckle every time I see that play.
Go Cowboys!
Man marshawn is a beast
Hammy the Destroy yuppp
But Blount's run was better
mbelma6329 wrong
Hammy The destroyer ya I know I am💪
mbelma6329 HATERRRR
I feel real sorry for Sanders and Tomlinson for not having rings. Unbelievable talent that I am so honored to have watched them play live
I would have liked to see a couple more tomlinson clips he was so fun to watch
@@rareitem_ my favorite back
@@Tarakat7 same
The captions are so helpful. I always want to know the dates of these plays I see online.
Blount is so underrated
Yes he is. He ran over the Colts and they got pissed and decided to create deflategate. Sore ass losers
Justin Lockert thank you smh I hate the Pat's but blunt had like 150 yes and 2 or 3 TDs that game.....he beat them single handedly
Fred Taylor also was very underrated.
He really is...
Barry and AP had some incredible rushes...
The NERO Probably the two greatest pure rushers in their primes.
The Earl Campbell TD after Jack Tatum hit him should be on this reel.
I was looking for that one myself. Irresistible force meets immovable object. What a play!
ruclips.net/video/Kz1nhPZLyHw/видео.html
Knocked him on his ass by not even running, just lowering his shoulders
Absolutely
B.Sanders & marshawn runs was Savage
Beast Quake was insane, you could literally feel the ground shake outside the stadium
OJ had killer moves. His cuts were deadly and sliced up the competiton.
marshawn lynch cuts are so percise...
DeSean Jackson #Jaccpot #0ne0fone #1hunna yeah bro like sweet poetry
The Guy I feel like he needed to learn to do that, because his speed isn't the best at all. But his trucking and precise footwork more than make up for it.
More precise than your spelling that's for sure...
Poison_0038 for sure
smitherskro okay?
Man, aliens could land on the field in the middle of a game and Joe Buck would make it sound like the most boring thing in human history.
Rise Of The Kumquat Al Michaels isn't much better. Check the run at 0:34. Really lame call for a run that long and that unique. In general the NFL broadcasters need to drink a few energy drinks before games or something.
lmao alien...the alien...the alien...damn there's an alien...and he's gone.
Jeff T We need Gus Johnson back.
"Coming up next on Fox, be sure to check out American's hit show American Idol.. That will be coming up after the game here and after this alien spacecraft that has appeared to come out of nowhere leaves the field... There is a UFO on the field. Now is as good of a time as any to remind you that today's game on FOX is brought to you by Oreo's.. America's favorite cookie."
No where near as bad as Marc Bulger lol
5:15 Barry Sander literally SNAPPED #51’s ankles!
I'm glad I wasn't watching football in the 80's. Barry Sanders AND Walter Payton... probably killed my Packers everytime they played
@@u2bgeye679 figure of speech dude
You had your time, the bears are back
Barry sanders, Bo Jackson, and Walter Payton cannot be human beings. they're just too good.
Some of the all-time greats. As a Tampa fan though would like to see the A train Mike Alstott.
Dear lord some of those Barry Sanders runs are absolutely ridiculous, jaw dropping. All of these are great though. Talent.
You have LT in here not getting touched..... Chris Johnson during his 2K rushing year had a run where he trucked the mess out a Jaguar & then out ran the competition for 80 yards for a TD.....
That should've at least been on the list
Pretty sure they kept this video on relevancy, and we know how Chris Johnson turned out.
"With an 83-yard touchdown, Johnson broke an NFL record with his fourth rushing touchdown of 80 yards or more" - Wikipedia
None of those runs warranted inclusion on this list?
Ombeni Idassi thats what i was thinking
WutTheDeuce what about blount?
2:59 anyone ever notice the two Defenders that literally tackled each other?
Comedy 🤣
The way barry sanders kept so much speed in between cuts is just inhuman . imagine if he never retired so soon
Berry Sanders is and was and always will be the best there ever was at the running back position. There are to many other that come in at a close second.
Don Dehning he’s good. But not as good as Barry Sanders.
I don't know... Give me good ol Frank Gore !!! The guy is a bull
@@BreuckelensFinest when did Marcus Allen and Walter Payton play quarterback?
Yeah, I always thought Barry deserved the all time rushing yards title. He probably still would've gotten it if he'd played a few more years.
I think about half of all running backs that ever played would have the all-time record behind that line, no exaggeration. You're talking about two or three Hall of Famers, and the others were perennial pro bowlers for a solid 7 years of Smith's career.
Its still the NFL players are paid millions to stop you but he is fun to watch
3:49 One of my all time favorite runs. Garrison Hearst was a warrior.
Can the next season start already
Element 17 exactly I wish the NBA and NFL switch seasons
Element 17 I know right
ta da
It did stupid
Rip
Did Christian Okoye have big enough shoulder pads!??!
Garrett Kane That was a back brace
Eric B & Rakim back then nfl players wore battle armors, just looks like everyone is lineman out there
Tom Brady Shady #WOAT#CryBaby#StillCheating They have back braces I today's league as well. Tyron Smith wore one this season.
Eric B & Rakim I'm just talking in general. Those pads were massive.
Tom Brady Shady #WOAT#CryBaby#StillCheating You can see the outline of the back brace as he turns around
This easily could’ve been a Barry Sanders highlight reel... he had dominant TD runs every week!!
Honestly, same with Adrian Peterson. They are the all-time best home-run hitters. Every game you expected them to break one.
Barry Sanders left a pile of Ppl on the field 😂🤣
Without stuff arming too
More like he made the football field a hospital for all the ankles he broke😂😂😂😂
And one guy standing straight up looking around clueless.
This might be the best video the NFL has put on here. Some truly great runs in there!
Sanders and Gayle - their reads and style to pivot and shift are phenomenal-in a class of their own
MARSHALL FAULK WITH THAT STEPBACK OMG 😳
Right
Peterson is a beast
MY GOD... A highlight of LEGENDS!!!
Jim Brown's at the 50, Jim Brown's at the 40, Jim Brown's at the 30, it's going to another touchdown for Jim Brown! 😂
Also a tribute to those blocking. I got your back, don't forget!
Especially on the Steve Young run - some of the best downfield blocking you will ever see.
Robert Cooper I’m a lineman and once our running back jammed his helmet in my back and used me as a shield to get to the end zone big tribute
He is Ricardo Lockette, a wide receiver with the Seahawks at the time.
Barry Sanders is the King of running backs
No, he's the GOD of running backs
How can this video exist and not include the John Riggins Superbowl run? What many consider to be one of the most iconic runs in the history of the NFL.
Enforcer uPu its dominent touchdowns, not most iconic
Jordan Walkowiak the guy dragged a man like he was tied to a horse. It was the most dominant run of all time at that moment. By the most dominant RB at that time. It deserved to be one of the last ones shown.
As a Dophins fan, I approve of the Riggins omission.
Because only true football fans are aware of that run.
because he only broke one tackle on that run? where as these guys were breaking tackle after tackle, and making cuts after moves
Fred Taylor and priest Holmes were sooo underrated
Who else is yelling WHOA as they watch these?
especially the marshawn lynch and barry sanders ones
I'm yelling "Oh... OH... OHHHH"
April Babies Not yelling Woah because I did that so long ago
April Babies nahh bro nahhh
I think earl campbell was the only one i hadnt seen
Great video but where's Gayle Sayers?
Derrick Henry's 99 yard run has gotta be on the next iteration of this. Blocking got him the first 5-10 yards. Size, power, and a 99 on stiff arm got him the rest of the way.
I can’t believe they didn’t include Marshawn Lynch’s goal line, super bowl winning TD against the patriots.
... Oh wait
Lol.But even if they did run it it still wouldn't have made it since it isn't dominant
Lol
😂
Patriots got caught cheating how many times lol Barry bonds asterisks even this year spygate 2.0 and they lost to the beastmode 2.0 ain't that ironic lmao
Please don't bring that up...adding salt to the wound.
Barry Sanders or BEASTMODE
Conrad Travis
Barry beastmode
Conrad Travis beastmode
u cant compare a hall of famer with a rb who is questionable to even make the hall of fame
Conrad Travis Definitely Barry
Conrad Travis Barry. Lynch is great but Barry was unreal. I've never seen anyone move like him before or since.
A lot of legends in here.
Man... I love a good running game.
Why does Joe Buck still have a job?
Robert Kane Joe Buck called the David Tyree helmet catch like it was a 3 yard dink and dunk in first quarter of preseason game between Jags and Browns
beckham . . . beckham . . . . . beckham . . . . . touchdown. joe buck when the odell got that big td against the cowgirls
he's waaaay better now
baseball
Because hes too stupid too look for a new one
5:25 i love those words
Daniel Chachanashvili he made grown men eat his dust every week
I just love the endeavour of the offensive line to protect their guy! Just blocking and running and giving him every chance! So good
Barry Sanders is the BEST runningback on this list!!!
The guy was only 5'8......a Defenders WORST nightmare!
I knew Bo Jackson's 91 yard TD would be here
Yaboi Chase bo knows
6:35. Could u imagine being a db seeing that breaking through the linebackers!
