Great start to a new hobby. I have been in the traditional archery world since ‘95 and have made several bows through the years. Much like fly fishing once you get a taste it will take you on a long and rewarding adventure. Keep up the practice and keep up the videos. It was a nice change in your normal videos.. congrats.

I knew I'd come to the right place... I'm a bow hunter from South Africa, I was given a fly rod 2 weeks ago and was making every beginner mistake you'll know of; until I found this channel and started following Brian's advice. The minute "Up cast & down cast" clicked into my brain, suddenly it all came together, now I can't go wrong, casting like a legend... even if I do say so myself... :p thank you Brian, you are a legend

It's GREAT to see you shooting a bow Brian! Flip didn't tell you about an anchor point for your drawing hand. Once you get that down, you could be a really great shooter! Fly fishing and traditional archery are my two favorite things in this world! Keep it up!

I personally really benefitted from joining my states traditional archery organization. I think it's Ohio Society of Traditional Archers in your hood. Really suggest going to a Trad only shoot. They are amazing events and a lot of fun! Also you are within easy driving distance to one of the biggest events in trad archery. The Eastern Traditional Archery Rendezvous at Denton Hill State Park in PA. It's in July so in the middle of trout season but it's worth it.

I got into traditional bow hunting a few years ago, and am just getting into fly fishing. I think they have a lot in common, and draw similar types of people, with similar mindsets.
The biggest difference is you can kind of hit the water and figure out casting as you go, and practice when you can. You really need to hone your shooting before you ever hit the woods. Out of respect for the animal, you need to be very proficient so you dont just wound the animal. Making your own arrows actually isnt that difficult! The shaft is the most difficult part. Much easier than making a bow. Just my two cents :)
