Good on him for giving it a go, it’s pretty addictive and I hope he keeps at it and gets some animals with it. It’s always good to see Flips contribution to the outdoors.
I would love to see more content like this on the channel. The mentor mentee dynamic makes for more enjoyable learning. One of my favorite videos you have.
Great start to a new hobby. I have been in the traditional archery world since ‘95 and have made several bows through the years. Much like fly fishing once you get a taste it will take you on a long and rewarding adventure. Keep up the practice and keep up the videos. It was a nice change in your normal videos.. congrats.
I knew I'd come to the right place... I'm a bow hunter from South Africa, I was given a fly rod 2 weeks ago and was making every beginner mistake you'll know of; until I found this channel and started following Brian's advice. The minute "Up cast & down cast" clicked into my brain, suddenly it all came together, now I can't go wrong, casting like a legend... even if I do say so myself... :p thank you Brian, you are a legend
It's GREAT to see you shooting a bow Brian! Flip didn't tell you about an anchor point for your drawing hand. Once you get that down, you could be a really great shooter! Fly fishing and traditional archery are my two favorite things in this world! Keep it up!
Great video - I assume the friend that helped Flip build that bow was Clay Hayes. Good to see someone else getting into archery - it really is a perfect activity, especially if used for hunting to compliment fly fishing.
Nice shooting Tex! I personally really benefitted from joining my states traditional archery organization. I think it's Ohio Society of Traditional Archers in your hood. Really suggest going to a Trad only shoot. They are amazing events and a lot of fun! Also you are within easy driving distance to one of the biggest events in trad archery. The Eastern Traditional Archery Rendezvous at Denton Hill State Park in PA. It's in July so in the middle of trout season but it's worth it.
Great first day shooting. Practice up and go video your first deer hunt. Looking forward to it. I assume that won’t be until next fall. If you have rabbits or hares they make for great winter time hunting
I got into traditional bow hunting a few years ago, and am just getting into fly fishing. I think they have a lot in common, and draw similar types of people, with similar mindsets. The biggest difference is you can kind of hit the water and figure out casting as you go, and practice when you can. You really need to hone your shooting before you ever hit the woods. Out of respect for the animal, you need to be very proficient so you dont just wound the animal. Making your own arrows actually isnt that difficult! The shaft is the most difficult part. Much easier than making a bow. Just my two cents :)
Thanks for tuning in! What do you think of Brian's bow skills? Comment below 🤙
Nicely done Brian!

Adam Zappia Thanks for watching. Flip continues to inspire us all......in many ways.
For somebody that has never shot a bow before, that is exemplary shooting, he is a natural

Coming soon...the Axiom Bow 😉
Let's get on that!!!!
Haha, I have a set WNS Axiom Alpha limbs on my recurve, so you might be too late to that party TFO
This was fun to watch, and Brian and Flip are great.....but I'm not sure if I want someone to teach me archery by aiming at my right eye!
Thanks for watching. Did you notice that he didn't pull the bow string?
@@Madriveroutfitters Whew, ok!
They are professionals Brad. Remember.

Slow down there amigo. One step at a time. Thanks for watching.

The Vermonter

The look Brian has when he shoots the first arrow is a look that more people need on their faces.
Good point! Thanks for watching.
Cool video! Thanks.
Farmer Bob Thanks for being here!
Would love to spend a day with flip. So much knowledge to take in
CotyPOutdoors It’s a real honor that we at MRO call him a friend.
@@Madriveroutfitters I would have to agree.
Wow! What a video!
Thanks for watching. Stay tuned. Much more coming with Flip!!!
where abouts is that "campground" at? looks nice
Believe it was Flip's back yard. You'd have to check with Brian though.
Just Subbed Flip! Great video!
Thanks for watching and for the support!

Now we need to get you bowfishing!
One step at a time Joe. Thanks for watching.
Happy to see him learn to shoot split fingers.
Probably way above his head but thanks anyways.
“If I had the arrow on the bow string and your target was your right eye”..... what....😳
If you notice, he didn't pull the bow string. Brian said it was a great demo/teaching moment.
Unusual, yes, but a very effective demonstration.
James Cooper 👍
So when does the blooper reel get published? Lol!
Stay tuned. Plenty to come.
@@Madriveroutfitters Always looking forward to your next video!
Thanks for being here. Much appreciated.
Are you going to start selling Archery equipment in the shop? WayneO
Wayne Springer Whoa there Wayne. Slow down. He’s just getting the hang of running a fly shop.
Is this a primer for a bow and arrow cast ?
RONALD FISHER No, but thanks for watching.
flip sure is cool.
The definition of....
Niiicce!
Thanks for watching. Much more of Flip to come!!!
Where in fla is Flip?
Not sure. You'd have to check with Brian as to where they were. E-mail him at the shop.
Bow fishing with Flip
Thomas Ryan Just a bow in this one. Thanks for watching.
Fly fishers do it better! 👌😁
Sometimes. Thanks for watching.
Loved the video! Came here through Clay but can we talk about how he just aim a fully drawn bow at a man's right eye?!?
Pay closer attention. The bow was absolutely not drawn. Jeez.
@@Madriveroutfitters it was a sarcastic joke, I understand that you guys wouldn't do something so reckless.
But....no sarcasm allowed here. Thanks for watching and glad you liked it.
