Love your Hoya collection!😍They’re doing well & are happy! Your hoyas you don’t like are a little sad-you never know-maybe they’ll surprise you! You’re such fun to watch-you always make me laugh!😂
I wouldn't lose hope on flowers. I've had some hoyas that flowered that were just grown from cuttings after a few years. They do like medium light, and they appreciate a bit of fertilizer from time to time. My Carnosa has flowered for me several times. It's not really huge, it only has 3 long vines, but it flowers almost every year. I have it a few feet away (at an angle) from a south facing window. I just recently got some Krimson Queen. I don't expect those will flower for me for maybe another year or two once they get settled in.
Love Hoya's, but they are so slow growing, and the ten you picked I really love. Now the three you hate, I literally laughed out loud when you said "I guess it's starting to get it's poop together" and I'm still giggling, oh Stef, I really love your channel, I can always count on getting a good laugh and getting some great information. Thanks for sharing, bye for now.
Hello Steff, Wonderful of you to share your Hoya collection. I have only one variety the Hoya Carnosa Crimson and since they have not grown all winter. I placed them near more light and humidity and now have new growth. Wishing you the best.🌷
on the hoyas you hate, they might just want higher humidity. You can put them under a bell jar or heck, just a plastic bag... see if they put out more growth.
I put some of my slow or non growing hoyas in a humidity box and it did help some. They sure can be frustrating at times! You do have a lot of beautiful plants !🌱🌸😬
Aww I love all hoyas, but they are still inaccessible here... I do have six, but they are mostly carnosa (or unidentified) species. The good thing is that I keep some of those outdoors, so they bloom!! Have a great day!!! 😍
Plants you hate give off bad vibes in your house ;) I bet some friend might like to try giving them love. Lol, I have had a calathea (2 times) and I just can't grow them for beans. The one I have makes me soooooo unhappy and I think I am going to have to get rid of it. I just had major surgery a few days ago, so I need all the bad ju-jus out of here! Love your videos :)
I was probably the one giving off bad vibes. :D They are doing better now that spring is more springy and I like them more. I am so scared of calatheas. I had a friend send me one and I am so afraid of killing it. They sure are beautiful though. Hope you are feeling good after your surgery!
Hi Stef! I've never been involved in a plant swap before. It sounds like it might be fun. Would you please explain the specifics? I really like your Hoya collection. Hopefully the ones you "hate" will do better this summer. Thank you for sharing!
Yeah I think I heard that too. I also heard that it was better to spray them with a certain type of fertilizer. They like to suck it in their leaves. ?
For the last Hoya you mentioned that you said you don’t like, I would try to take a cutting and have it grow new roots in a very humid environment. Check out Doug Chamberlains video on propagating Hoyas using hydroponics. You could try that or you could try what I did which was just use mostly perlite and a tiny bit of orchid bark and worm castings. I put these in some jar contraptions (though plastic bags would work just as well I’m sure) to keep in the humidity and have them near an east facing window with a grow light above them. Sometimes when they’re struggling the best thing you can do is to restart them!
Omg you made me laugh with your realistic expectations about your Hoya😆😆😆. I love your collection even your not so beloved Hoyas. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to updates on your garden😊👍❤.
Enjoyed your video, and it helped me see so many Hoyas I never really see anywhere. I finally ordered a new one, so I’ll have the one from Linda Mays Christmas contest and the NEW Crinkle 8 should be here in a few days. EXCITED TO GET IT...!
Re: the Rotundiflora or (Rotunda flora?), I feel for ya. That’s how it is with my Peperomia trinervis. No matter what I do, it looks miserable. I never thought I’d hate a plant, but I’m gettin’ there fast! 😆
I’m starting to catch the Hoya bug! I’m with you on loving them for their foliage alone! Right now I’m impatiently waiting for some cuttings of a Krimson Princess that I got from Linda May back in Nov. or Dec. to do something. You have a nice collection! Thanks for sharing.
I have the same issue with my curtisii! Mine has been looking like it’s on deaths door for months but still stays green... I have no problem with my other Hoya, just this one
I hate curtisii too. I got cuttings 1.5 years ago and had such a hard time rooting them. I finally got one to root and it's just started putting out new growth in the last couple of months. I'll probably sell or trade it. I'm done.
Hey! Great video. I like your honesty & opinion because we live in the same state. I’m glad I didn’t buy a curtsii awhile back. I almost did but I wasn’t sure how it would do. Seeing yours & your opinion make me laugh 😂 love how you call them whiners!! I killed my Hoya about 5 years ago before I knew more about them. I’m in the market now. I’m looking for a publicalyx or a tri color now that I saw this. I’ve learned to be patient and get what I really want instead of going plant crazy and wasting my money & time. Thanks again. 🌱♥️
Spray the curtisii ( a thorough spray) instead of watering it and get it out of the terracotta asap. Mine grows like crazy. They love the humidity but don't like wet soil.
Thanks Barbara! Is the terracotta a curtisii thing or hoya in general? I know a lot of folks say not to grow hoyas in terracotta, but I have had really good luck with it. I'm going to go spray the little bugger now. Thanks so much for the tips!
@@StefHall The curtisii doesn't like wet soil but it likes a moist environment. Terracotta is better for thick leaved hoya's like carnosa. I hope you'll have better luck with the curtisii. Rotundifolia is a cool grower and it also doesn't like to dry out too much. So also no terracotta imo
Hey there! I grow 161 hoya species and I know how bad it is to wait for flowers. Most of your pots look to big for me. If you compare them with the size of the plants. Is the pot to big they grow roots and more roots and more roots but they will be lazy in put on new growth on the top. Your hoya carnosa tricolor is a carnosa variegata. They were often confused. And I'm not sure if your serpens is really a serpens but the light was not good enough to check it for sure. For hoya odorata you can encourage the growth by using a simple spray bottle. You will love her when you smell the amazing flowers the first time. So don't give up on her!
Thanks Kevin! I won't give up on any of them! I've gotten quite a few other hoyas since this video, but not 161! Wow! So you called the tricolor a variegata? ARe they synonymous? The serpens is actually a mathilde, which is a cross between a serpens and a carnosa. What hoya is your favorite in your collection?
No tricolor is separate. Its also called crimson Princess. And variegata is also called crimson Queen. I've been to Thailand a few weeks ago visiting ah hoya nursery and meet surisa somadee it was totally amazing. My favorites are hoya undulata and inflata. Macgillivrayi and archboldiana are amazing too. Yes your serpens looks like Mathilde. Serpens is way more difficult than her doughters Mathilde and chouke. Hoya lockii is a must have. And if you have space at a South facing window you need to get one of the imperialis varieties l.
Love your Hoya top 10! Waiting 29 years for a flower sounds more like my experience with some orchids! Patience is not my strong point. This video is a day late. Just received 2 Curtsii from Taylor yesterday. Oh no!
I don't care if my Hoya's bloom either, I recently ordered my dream hoya Linearis from the UK and hope hope hope I don't love it to death. I am serious, to me I could care less about Monstera's , the Linearis was my all time number one dream plant. I also love jungle cactus types as well, and I don't care if they flower either. You have a great collection :)
I don't own any Hoyas but I do like some of them that I love to try, like the round leaves and the Hindu Rope but the variegated one. I would love to participate in your plant swap, haven't try so I love to join in on the plant community and make some plant friends. 😊🌱
Thanks Hamim. I am probably not a queen of Hoya. I am still learning a lot about them, but I sure do love them! I give them water from my fish pond as well as leaf orchid spray once a month during the summer.
Hamim CHOWDHURY if the plants well established, 1/4 potting soil, 1/4 peat, 1/2 perlite with added sphagnum and fine orchid bark has worked well for me. If the plant is weak or needing to grow roots, or is just small I am finding semi hydro does the trick!
Hey Stef! Love your video, you and I love all the hoyas but sometimes they dont love us back! I put my plants outside for the spring and summer already and some are loving it and some ain't. I believe my curtsii does better inside with cooler temperatures but I'm still not sure. Also I get hoyas mainly for their foliage bc I don't think any of them will ever flower for me 😅lol
I love finlaysonii to hes so gorgeous ,hes my fav . I need the tri colour its gorgeous !! And the bella And them all hahaha .love hoyas so much ..love your channel too xo
Aaahhh, Don't Hate Them , maybe they'll be like The Story Of The Ugly Duckling...And They'll Grow Up To Be Beauties OR Be The First Ones to Flower For You!!!
“I’m realistic in the fact that they probably won’t flower for 29 more years.” 😂 love you
Keepin it real :D
Love your Hoya collection!😍They’re doing well & are happy! Your hoyas you don’t like are a little sad-you never know-maybe they’ll surprise you! You’re such fun to watch-you always make me laugh!😂
Thanks Janie! I haven't given up on them.
Hoya have to be the slowest plants ever! Especially when it comes to the flowers opening 😳

Hi Stef ..
You have some Beautiful Hoyas..
I truly enjoy all your videos..
And Thanks for sharing them with us..
Have a Blessed Weekend 🌸🌸🌸

I have never heard of Hoyas. I love the Lisa one & the varigated one. I lover very unique plants.

Thanks Sandy. It;ll just be a live video here on my channel. We can all trade in the comments.
Hey enjoyed this ....where do you order from the UK ?
My favorite hoya is the Hoya carnosa compacta it is just the cutest thing with its crinkle leaves but I never see a lot of people that have it
I've got one! The green version and its awesome!
I can't remember where I heard it this week, using Orcid furtilizer to get flowers should also help the Hoyas to get flowers. I will try it my self :)
Yeah I think I heard that too. I also heard that it was better to spray them with a certain type of fertilizer. They like to suck it in their leaves. ?
Hoya Curtisii is one of the easiest Hoya to care for. It needs more light

I might have to try that, but I am scared.
Love your Hoyas. Sorry that you’re having trouble with those 3. I love the way you describe certain things about the plants. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Kathy!
Hi! Are you sure the hoya you introduced as serpens is not a mathilde? PS. I love your personality :)
I don't have any Hoyas, and no room really for anything else, the ones you have are nice. excellent video
Love the Hoya Chelsea and the Afinis. I'm going to go look for those.
Omg you made me laugh with your realistic expectations about your Hoya😆😆😆. I love your collection even your not so beloved Hoyas. Thanks for sharing. I look forward to updates on your garden😊👍❤.

💘 how you talk about how it makes u feel and looks pretty plants
I just ordered my first hoya from you ladies a few days ago !!
You will love it! And thanks!
I only have one hoya at the moment and it's the cute little curtisii. I love it so far. How often do you water yours?
Pretty much never. Someone told me they like their leaves sprayed and their soil dry.
@@StefHall only spraying the leaves does pretty much nothing for the plant
Re: the Rotundiflora or (Rotunda flora?), I feel for ya. That’s how it is with my Peperomia trinervis. No matter what I do, it looks miserable. I never thought I’d hate a plant, but I’m gettin’ there fast! 😆
HAHA! I dont' have that peperomia and I shan't

Thanks Judy!
Curtisii is my favorite and fastest growing plant. Aside from my bella.
The australis lisa omg thats amazing !!!! 💚💚💚
I have the same issue with my curtisii! Mine has been looking like it’s on deaths door for months but still stays green... I have no problem with my other Hoya, just this one

Great video, but number 8 on the list of your favourite hoyas is not Carnosa Tricolor (Krimson Princess). It's Carnosa Albomarginata (Krimson Queen).
And number 3 doesn't look like Serpens to me. I think it's Mathilde.
You're right.
I say the wrong words all the time 😊

@@StefHall btw hoya Lacunosa and hoya bella for example like more water so keep them slightly moist in a plastic pot
Great video! You and your daughters are so fun ❤
If you dust them they’ll have an easier time with photosynthesizing - being indoors they miss out on rain and wind to clean the leaves
That Hoya australis is pretty pretty.
i just ordered a hoya bella from your shop. Do you think she will do well on a shelf by a south window?
Yes! But I wouldn't put her right in front of it. She isn't used to that much direct sun!
What soil mix do you use for your hoyas?

I'll announce the time next week around wednesday or so. You should get 1 or 2. :)
I’m totally getting into Hoyas at the moment. I just want them all. I ordered a pink silver today and it is beautiful
Can not find the link about the plant swap. Thanks for mentioning it and any time would be good for me.
It should show up if you watch from a computer or tv. Its a link that pops up at the top of the screen.
Yay! Hoya content!😅
Hi, where do you order your hoyas? Thank you!
I've gotten them from all over. Secret Garden Rare Plants, Taylor Greenhouse, local nursery, Lowe's.
Wow your hoyas are AWESOME 🌞
You have reason to feel proud to be a queen of Hoya !!
Amazing plants . What you fertilising and do you feed foliage ?
Thanks Hamim. I am probably not a queen of Hoya. I am still learning a lot about them, but I sure do love them! I give them water from my fish pond as well as leaf orchid spray once a month during the summer.

How about fertilising? What when and how you do
Hamim CHOWDHURY orchid fertilizer that you spray on the leaves once a month in the growing season and then just the fish water.

And the bella
And them all hahaha .love hoyas so much ..love your channel too xo
HAHA! Thank you!
Hi Stef, I know this is an older video, but do you still do plant trades? ☺️
Yes, in the spring we will have a plant swap on here.
Stef Hall thank you
Thank you for making this video. Also your very funny.
I love Hoyas too!
The one that you hate would probably look better in a terrarium, vivarium, try it and see.
You’re so cute! I love all your plants! I have so many, but none look as good as yours!
Hi Dawn! You're cute! We should do a plant tour of your house!
That would be fun! They definitely are not as pretty as yours!
I love hoya's as you know...lol. I agree withthe 29 year statement but hope we will see some flowers (at least me) before I die...LOL
You have a lot of Hoyas! Maybe that last one goes dormant or something? I hope it takes off this summer for you! 🌱🌱🌱
I think I have #10
The one you call affinis, looks a lot like hoya optimistic.
I'm not a big Hoya fanatic (yet), but every time I see a pubicalyx I think "neat! Want one of those!"
You do. Trust me.
I like hoya
Yo same I always wanna bite my plants that have thick leaves 😂
I can send you postage for all the Hoyas you hate!😂
Your hoya serpens looks more like the mathilde which is a carnosa x serpens
Sidney Thimgan It is! I don’t know why I said that.
So it’s not a serpens then but a mathilde. That confused me when I was watching your video.
Aaahhh, Don't Hate Them , maybe they'll be like The Story Of The Ugly Duckling...And They'll Grow Up To Be Beauties OR Be The First Ones to Flower For You!!!
It could happen. I guess I don't really hate them. They hate me. :)
💚🌿💚
Happy belated Birthday wishes.
Thanks Linda!
Oh yeah I heard curtsii are divas. They need a lot of bright light and their blooms are meh
I would attest to the diva stigma for sure!
What's this I hear about a plant swap? 😁
A live video and everyone can swap with each other. We did one last year and it was fun!
@@StefHall Oooh! This sounds interesting!!

Thanks?
